Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penyesuaian diri (adjustment) perempuan Bali yang menikah dengan lelaki berkasta lebih rendah dari dirinya sehingga mengalami nyerod (turun kasta). Pendekatan kualitatif ini menggunakan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur. Data dianalisis secara naratif. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah lima perempuan Hindu-Bali yang telah menikah lintas-kasta minimal 10 tahun dan turun kasta dari Ksatria ke Sudra. Studi ini menemukan bahwa dalam pernikahan beda kasta tersebut terjadi penyesuaian diri di beberapa bidang, seperti hubungan dengan pasangan, manajemen konflik, hubungan dengan keluarga besar, serta hubungan dengan status sosialnya. Faktor pendukung penyesuaian diri perempuan nyerod adalah fleksibilitas, dukungan, dan penerimaan dari keluarga asal dan keluarga suami. Sebaliknya, trauma masa lalu, rasa penyesalan, perlakuan tidak adil dari orang tua, dan tuntutan segera memiliki anak menjadi faktor yang menghambat penyesuaian diri.

Abstract

To perform effectively, teachers must have a strong professional commitment. This quantitative and comparative study examines how gender and tenure can contribute to differences in professional commitment. Subjects who participated in this study amounted to 89 people consisting of 33 female teachers and 56 male teachers at Vocational High School in Surabaya and number of teachers who have tenure more than 10 years is 22 people, while 44 people with 1-2 tenure, 23 people with 3-10 tenure. Using SPSS 25.0 for Windows, two-way ANOVA revealed no statistically significant difference in professional commitment between male and female teachers (significance level 0.097 with p > 0.05). We also found that tenure had a statistically significant effect on professional commitment (significance level 0.013 with p < 0.05). This study shows that teachers with longer tenures exhibit greater levels of professional commitment.

Abstract

Using Giddens structuration theory and Banduras concept of agency, this quasi-life-historical study deals with how an interplay between agency and social structure produced the transformation of a participant from a drug addict with HIV/AIDS into an addiction counselor. In response to the structural forces at work in her society, the subject exercised her agency in ways that led, as an unintended consequence, to her contracting HIV/AIDS. Drug abuse, too, was another of her self-defeating ways of tackling lifes trials, such as the excess of pocket money, dysfunctional family communications, and stifling parental disciplinary styles. Structural forces, taking the forms of rehabilitation facilities and family and community supports, played a key role in her success in kicking her drug habit and becoming an addiction counselor. The transformation, however, is best seen as the product of a favorable interplay between existing structural forces and the subjects constructive ways of enacting her agency.Keywords: Agency, structure, drug addict, HIV/AIDS, addiction counselor Abstrak: Menggunakan metode quasi-life history, riset kualitatif ini mengkaji transformasi subjek dari pecandu penyandang HIV/AIDS menjadi konselor adiksi. Merujuk pada teori strukturasi Giddens dan konsep agency dari Bandura, studi ini mencoba memahami bagaimana struktur dan agency berinteraksi dan menghasilkan transformasi tersebut. Menjadi penyandang HIV/AIDS adalah akibat yang tidak diniatkan (unintended consequence) dari cara subjek menjalankan agency-nya dalam menanggapi daya-daya struktural dalam masyarakat. Dalam menyikapi peraturan orang tua, ketidakharmonisan komunikasi keluarga dan berlebihnya uang saku, subjek justru mengonsumsi NAPZA. Di sisi lain, ada sejumlah daya struktural yang membantu subjek membebaskan diri dari adiksi dan menjadi konselor, seperti program rehabilitasi, dukungan masyarakat sekitar, dan membaiknya sikap keluarga. Alih-alih bekerja sendiri, daya-daya struktural tersebut bersinergi dengan perjuangan subjek. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa transformasi subjek dari pencandu NAPZA dan penyandang HIV/AIDS menjadi konselor adiksi dapat dipahami sebagai hasil sinergi antara agency individu dan struktur sosial.

Abstract

This study examined two things: a) challenges confronting undergraduate students as a result of an abrupt transition to online learning in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and b) the coping techniques that they employed to tackle the challenges. Using Google Forms, interviews were conducted with 418 undergraduate students in one of universities in Surabaya. Qualitative thematic analysis of the interviews produced three findings. First, among the problems faced by the students are poorly done online classes, trouble interacting with lecturers and classmates, difficulty in accessing course resources, bad Internet connection, environmental distractions, and chaotic changes in class schedules. Second, as a result, the students suffered from increased stress and poor learning experience. Third, to survive, they employed three major coping techniques: problem-focused, emotion-focused, and appraisal-focused. This study concludes that students, lecturers, parents, and the government employ coping strategies that are both synergistic and antagonistic.  Keywords: Coping strategies, COVID-19 pandemic, online learning, studentsAbstrak: Riset ini mengkaji tantangan para mahasiswa tingkat sarjana akibat transisi mendadak ke pembelajaran dalam jariringan (daring) di masa pandemi COVID-19, dan strategi mereka dalam mengatasi tantangan itu. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara tertulis menggunakan Google Forms terhadap 418 mahasiswa di salah satu perguruan tinggi di Surabaya. Teknik analisis tematik yang digunakan membuahkan tiga temuan. Pertama, masalah-masalah yang dihadapi para sujbek mencakup paparan materi kuliah yang tidak memadai, sukarnya interaksi dengan dosen dan sesama mahasiswa, sukarnya akses ke bahan pembelajaran, buruknya koneksi internet, distraksi lingkungan, dan berubah-ubahnya jadwal kuliah. Kedua, akibatnya, di samping mutu pengalaman belajar para mahasiswa ini menjadi tidak optimal, mereka pun mengalami problem psikis. Ketiga, dalam beradaptasi pada sistem perkuliahan online atau dalam jaringan (daring) dengan berbagai problemnya itu, para mahasiswa menempuh beragam strategi coping yang secara garis besar dapat dikelompokkan ke dalam tiga gugus utama strategi yaitu coping yang berpusat pada problem, coping yang bertumpu pada emosi, dan coping yang berbasis interpretasi. Riset ini mencapai kesimpulan bahwa teknik-teknik coping yang diterapkan oleh berbagai pemangku kepentingan (mahasiswa, dosen, orang tua, dan pemerintah) ternyata bekerja secara sinergis sekaligus antagonistik.

Abstract

Komitmen profesional merupakan salah satu komponen penting yang dapat menunjang keberhasilan sekolah. Keberhasilan sekolah akan dapat dicapai apabila para guru yang bekerja di sekolah memiliki komitmen profesional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komitmen profesional pada guru Taman Kanak-Kanak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif.  Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah enam orang guru yang bekerja di salah satu sekolah Taman Kanak-Kanak yang ada di Surabaya. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu reduksi data, data display, dan penarikan kesimpulan guna mengetahui gambaran komitmen profesional pada guru Taman Kanak-Kanak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru Taman Kanak-Kanak di sekolah ini memiliki komitmen profesional tergolong tinggi. Secara komitmen profesional afektif guru menunjukan adanya ikatan emosional dan memiliki kebanggaan menjadi seorang guru Taman Kanak-Kanak. Sementara secara komitmen profesional berkelanjutan menunjukkan bahwa para guru menyadari akan mengalami kerugian apabila meninggalkan profesinya sebagai guru Taman Kanak-Kanak dan secara komitmen profesional normatif guru memiliki loyalitas yang tinggi terhadap profesinya

Abstract

Every student who attends lectures on campus is expected to have achievements as an academic member. This also applies to student-athletes excelling in sports and balancing it with academic achievement. Achievement is related to athletes' physical abilities and skills in performing techniques. The high level of physical activity that is carried out requires athletes' involvement in taking risks both during training and competitions. This study aims to determine the profile of risk-taking behavior in Surabaya State University students. A total of 230 student-athletes became the subject of the study, with an age range of 19-24 years, with 35 people in the categories of accuracy sports, 57 people in Pencak silat, 96 people in games, and 42 people in the competition. The instrument used is risk-taking behavior—data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics. The data analysis tool used the Jeffreys' Amazing Statistics Program (JASP) application version 0.14.1.0. The data analysis results showed that most subjects' risk-taking behavior was at a good level of 157 people or 86.3 percent. The dominant risk-taking behavior is at a high level of 73 people or 31.73 percent at a moderate level. The implications of this research are the data for campuses to promote sports activities so that students have good risk-taking behavior. Through good decision-making behavior, it is hoped that it will encourage the achievement of student-athlete's academic and sports achievements.

Abstract

Self acceptance is important for children including those who have experienced traumatic events in order to gain inner well being and be able to optimize themselves in the future. This study aims to identify and describe the process of self-acceptance for victims of sexual assault including the perpetrator of infanticide. This study employed a case study qualitative method. The subject in this study is an 18-year-old female student who was a victim of sexual violence as well as a perpetrator of infanticide. Researcher used interview instruments for data collection. Data analysis is performed with thematic analysis. The results of this study show that subjects can accept herself fully at this time. This self-acceptance can be seen from the process that starts from the subject experiencing rejection, depression, anger, to acceptance. The most prominent aspects of self acceptance in the subject is a sense of responsibility with the most dominant supporting factor of self acceptance is the existence of social support from the environment.Penerimaan diri penting bagi perkembangan individu termasuk anak yang mengalami kejadian traumatis agar ia mencapai kesejahteraan dan mampu mengoptimalkan potensi dirinya di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses penerimaan diri pada korban kekerasan seksual sekaligus pelaku pembunuhan pada bayinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seorang pelajar perempuan korban kekerasan seksual berusia 18 tahun yang berstatus terpidana pembunuhan. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen wawancara untuk pengumpulan data. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa subjek dapat menerima dirinya secara penuh saat ini. Penerimaan diri ini terlihat dari proses yang dimulai dari subjek yang mengalami penolakan, depresi, kemarahan hingga penerimaan. Aspek penerimaan diri yang paling menonjol pada diri subjek adalah rasa tanggungjawab sedang faktor yang mendukung proses penerimaan diri adalah dukungan sosial dari lingkungan.

Abstract

This study was aimed at examining the Muslim students’ attitude towards radicalization which reflects their approval or rejection of radicalization by involving the factor of Religious Identity as the dependent variable and Belief in Conspiracy Theory as the mediator. The sample was Muslim students in public and private universities in East Java. The sample was selected using snowball technique by relying on the networks of friendship owned by the researchers to be forwarded in sequence to the researchers’ friends’ networks. The data was collected online through a google form containing 3 (three) Likert model questionnaires, namely the attitude scale towards radicalization, belief in conspiracy theories, and religious identity. A total of 651 respondents filled out this research questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Macro PROCESS 3.0 from Hayes with IBM's SPSS 25.0 for windows program. The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between religious identity and attitudes towards radicalization, as well as between belief in conspiracy theories and attitudes towards radicalization. This study also proves that belief in conspiracy theories can partially mediate the relationship between religious identity and attitudes towards radicalization. The results of this study can be taken into consideration in making policies to promote the prevention of the radicalization process among college students.

Abstract

Penelantaran adalah salah satu masalah bagi lanjut usia yang tinggal di panti wreda. Kualitas hidup lansia di panti wreda berbeda dengan lansia yang tinggal bersama dengan keluarga. Dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus, penelitian psikologi kualitatif ini mengkaji kesejahteraan subjektif lansia terlantar. Data diambil melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur. Responden penelitian ini adalah tiga manula terlantar berusia di atas 60 tahun dan bermukim di UPTD Griya Werdha, Surabaya. Data dianalisis dengan analisis tematik, diuji keabsahannya dengan member checking dan ditriangulasi melalui significant others. Riset ini mengungkap enam tema utama. Pertama, di panti jompo para responden mengalami berbagai masalah penurunan kondisi fisik. Kedua, para manula ini punya relasi sosial negatif atau positif dengan keluarga, teman dan perawat. Ketiga, mereka memaknai hidup mereka dengan mengevaluasi masa lalu dan kondisi sekarang. Keempat, kepuasan hidup mereka dipengaruhi pula oleh prestasi dan aktivitas diri. Kelima, emosi-emosi mereka bersifat negatif dan positif. Keenam, para lansia ini menanggulangi masalah mereka dengan menerapkan strategi coping. Berdasarkan pengalaman pernikahan, kehidupan keluarga, dan juga capaian di masa lampau serta pengalaman hidup yang dijalani saat ini di panti, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ketiga responden lansia memiliki kesejahteraan subjektif cukup baik.

Abstract

Writing scientific articles is writing whose editing is based on scientific studies that have a certain scientific basis. The presentation of scientific work must be systematic, logical and careful in all respects. The purpose of the scientific paper writing training activities is to foster interest, enthusiasm, and creative and innovative ideas from students off SMAN 1 Kraksaan to produce scientific work in accordance with the rules of writing. Furthermore, it can improve the competence of students which includes the ability to think critically, creatively, communicatively and collaboratively. Based on the results of the implementation of the training activities, it can be concluded that the activities went well and received full support from the school. All training participants took part in the activity until the end with an attendance rate of 100%. The activity participants were enthusiastic to ask questions, explore ideas, and express opinions. Thus, in the future, it is hoped that there will be further activities involving accompanying teachers to optimize their role in preparing scientific papers for students.
