Abstract

Positive online learning experiences during the COVID-19pandemic remain debatable in the literature where students and instructors have been enforced to shift from conventional face-to-face meetings to virtual learning. This study aims to explore English for specific purposes (ESP) students’ experiences during online learning, along with their concerns on learning attainment and personal adaptations. A qualitative case-study method was employed through interviews with students (n=19) from three private universities in Indonesia. The obtained data were analyzed through thematic analysis. Results showed that students of different departments approached ESP differently, but they similarly reported facing difficulties in reaching the learning objectives. They also experienced burnout from excessive online learning and found themselves hardly adapting to various instructors’ strategies. These findings revealed the need to revisit online ESP delivery classes in higher education. Implications for the future design of online ESP learning courses and instructor professional development are discussed.

Abstract

Human resources' capacity and competence greatly determine a nation's competitiveness and ability to compete. The performance of its human resources greatly influences organizational performance. The competitiveness of a country is greatly influenced by the quality and performance of its population. Realizing the importance of the quality of human resources, educational institutions, especially schools and teachers, have a crucial role in preparing students as assets and future successors of the nation. This study uses a qualitative methodology, including interviews, observations, literature analysis, and previous research. The main focus of this study is to investigate educators or teachers in Indonesian schools with similar variables and objects. The unit of analysis in this study involved teachers working in five major cities in Indonesia, while the observation unit included principals, students, and parents of students. A correlation exists between implementing quality management, transformational leadership style and educator performance. Based on the results of interviews, observations, studies of literature and previous studies, implementing quality management that runs well and a transformational leadership style positively affects teacher performance. Suppose schools can design a quality management system and implement a good quality assurance process, where the quality assurance process focuses on administrative and quality processes in academic activities such as learning and teaching. In that case, it will certainly have an impact on teacher performance.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of intrinsic motivation, adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in learning, and self-efficacy on the academic achievement of high school students. More understanding is needed regarding the psychological and technological aspects that affect students' ability to learn, along with the digital revolution that is currently taking place in education. Analysis of 100 high school student respondents who completed a survey became the basis for this quantitative study. Multiple linear regression methods were used to analyse data collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. This study shows that students' academic achievement is positively influenced by intrinsic motivation. Students who use AI technologies such as virtual tutors and adaptive learning applications have better academic results than those who do not. This is one of the positive outcomes of integrating AI into the learning process. Self-efficacy, a mediating variable, strengthens the relationship between intrinsic motivation and academic achievement. This highlights the importance of self-belief in supporting the effectiveness of learning driven by internal motivation. These findings emphasise the importance of developing learning strategies that arouse students' intrinsic motivation, strengthen self-efficacy, and encourage optimal utilisation of AI technology. The implications of this study provide recommendations for schools, educators, and policymakers to integrate innovative approaches that support technology adaptation and student psychological strengthening to improve academic achievement in the digital era.

Abstract

Abstract

The study that is now being conducted wants to measure how the ability to innovate academically, the organizational innovation, and the leadership that can adapt to change will affect the sustainability performance of educational institutions. Educators and administrative staff of higher education institutions made up the sample of 120 participants for the survey and the quantitative explanatory method was used to analyze the data. The analysis result showed that academic innovation capability, organizational innovation, and leadership adaptability were the independent variables, which had a significant positive effect on the sustainability performance of the institutions. As a result, the study not only augments the existing knowledge in educational management and institutional innovation literature but also gives practical tips to educational institutions on how to get better at sustainability by developing academic innovations, organizational innovations, and change-adaptive leadership.
