Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning activity and low learning outcomes of social studies of class VII/B students in the second semester at SMP Negeri 2 Dusun Selatan. Indicators of low learning activity include a lack of enthusiasm for learning and a tendency to be apathetic in participating in learning. This can be seen from students' responses to teacher questions, their activeness in expressing opinions or ideas, and low student participation in learning. Meanwhile, indicators of low learning outcomes are seen from classical completeness, which is still below 75% with the KKM value of Social Studies for Class VII in the second semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year at SMP Negeri 2 Dusun Selatan being 70. To overcome this problem, a Classroom Action Research was conducted that focused on increasing activity and improving learning outcomes through the use of multimedia-based learning media. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) used the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was implemented in 2 (two) cycles on 31 students. Data was collected through learning activity observations, learning outcome tests, and student response questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in learning activity, learning outcomes, and classical mastery. Learning activity increased by 17.4%, from 68.9% pre-cycle to 75.4% in Cycle 1 and 86.3% in Cycle 2. Student learning outcomes increased by 13.9%, from 72.6% in the pre-cycle to 80.3% in Cycle 1 and 87.7% in Cycle 2. Classical mastery percentage increased by 29%, from 65% in the pre-cycle to 83% in Cycle 1 and 94% in Cycle 2. It was concluded that the use of multimedia-based learning media can improve the social studies learning activity and learning outcomes of grade VII/B students in the 2024/2025 academic year at SMP Negeri 2 Dusun Selatan.

Abstract

Kesetaraan gender termasuk ke dalam tujuan yang harus dicapai dalam pembangunan nasional jangka panjang maupun menengah. Oleh karena itu baik perempuan maupun laki-laki mempunyai kesempatan dan akses yang sama sebagai agen dari pembangunan. Namun, dalam realitas masyarakat Indonesia perbedaan gender ini nyatanya masih menjadi permasalahan yang perlu diselesaikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi literatur. Metode dalam pengumpulan data dan informasi yaitu dengan bantuan buku, catatan dari jurnal, dokumen, atau materi pustaka yang berkaitan dengan pembahasan pada penelitian ini. Setelah semua data terkumpul maka langkah selanjutnya yaitu peneliti menganalisis data tersebut untuk diambil sebuah kesimpulan. Sifat dari penelitian studi literatur ini yaitu analisis deskriptif dengan menguraikan data yang diperoleh secara teratur. Kemudian, memberikan penjelasan serta pemahaman kepada pembaca agar mudah dipahami (Pusparani, 2021). Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu proses dari perwujudan kesetaraan gender di Indonesia sudah terlihat di beberapa sektor seperti pendidikan, ketenagakerjaan, dan politik tetapi belum maksimal. Hal ini karena adanya tantangan dalam proses tersebut seperti kuatnya budaya patriarki, pelaksanaan undang-undang yang tidak maksimal, kesenjangan akses pendidikan dan kesempatan kerja yang belum merata, serta masih banyak lagi. Oleh karena itu Indonesia harus mampu menyikapi tantangan tersebut dengan baik di mana tercapainya kesetaraan gender sebagai syarat dari pembangunan yang berkelanjutan dan berpusat di masyarakat harus menjadi prioritas dalam inisiatif pembangunan.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze learning styles and their varieties through diagnostic assessment to meet students' learning needs. The method used in this research is a descriptive quantitative method, with a sample of 27 8th-grade students at SMPN 9 Yogyakarta. The research instruments include the learning style questionnaire, observation, and interview. The results showed that students have three main learning styles, namely visual (40%), auditory (35%), and kinesthetic (25%). In addition, there are combinations of learning styles such as visual-auditory (18%), visual-kinesthetic (13%), and auditory-kinesthetic (13%). These findings suggest that learning approaches should be tailored to learners' individual learning preferences to enhance learning effectiveness. By implementing diagnostic assessments, teachers can design learning strategies that are more inclusive and better suited to learners' needs, thereby positively impacting their motivation and learning achievement.
