Abstract

Eichornia crassipes have root fibers that can repair water quality, improve the concentration of chlorophyll-a, increase growth, and maintain the survival of local catfish. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best biomass of water hyacinth for the increasing concentration of chlorophyll-a on local catfish rearing in August – September 2020. This study used a one-factor completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replication. The treatments in this study had different water hyacinth biomass, P0 (Control), P1 (112 g m-2), P2 (162 g m-2), and P3 (212 g m-2). The local catfish seeds that are used are sized approximately 5-7 cm, weigh 2.62-3.02 g, maintained for 30 days in a rearing container with a peat water volume of 98 L and a density of 2 fish L-1. The result showed that the best treatment was biomass 212 g m2 water hyacinth containing concentration chlorophyll-a 0.73 µg L-1 with the value of correlation concentration chlorophyll-a (r)=0.97 and R2=0.95, it was able to improve concentration chlorophyll-a on local catfish rearing such as increasing pH 5.7-6.0, nitrate 2.45 mg L-1, phosphate 2.09 mg L-1, temperature 27-280C and dissolved oxygen 5.4-5.5 mg L-1. Absolute weight growth (9.04g) with the value of correlation (r) = 0.99 and R2 = 0.99, and survival rate of local catfish (94.67%). The highest growth of the biomass water hyacinth per 3 days is 2.82%.

Abstract

Laundry detergent waste is toxic and can harm the environment and aquatic life. This study aims to find out the effect of detergent waste on the growth and mortality of gourami (Osphronemus gouramy) seeds and the threshold value of laundry detergent waste that can still be tolerated by gourami seeds. This research was carried out from December 2020 to January 2021 at the Aquaculture Environmental Quality Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPK) University of Riau. This research method used an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with three tests namely the preliminary test, acute toxicity test, and sublethal test. Observation of fish behavior and morphology during the test is described descriptively. In the preliminary test, the lower and upper threshold values were 10 ml L-1 and 100 ml L-1. Then in the acute toxicity test, the value LC50-96 hour was obtained at 30.1 ml L-1 with a biological safe limit value of 0.301 ml L-1. The best treatment obtained from the sublethal test was P1 with a concentration of 0.3 ml L-1 resulting in an absolute weight gain of 1.03 g, a specific growth rate of 1.56%, and a survival rate of 83.33%. The mortality rate is influenced by the concentration of detergent waste, the higher the concentration of detergent waste, the higher the mortality rate. Detergent waste that enters the waters affects the surface tension of the water so that the oxygen diffusion process is hampered, the reduced dissolved oxygen stresses the fish. Detergent waste can also enter the fish's body, irritating the gills and other organs, which can lead to death.

Abstract

This research was conducted in October 2022 at the SUPM Natural Feed Labor/Maritime and Fisheries Polytechnic Pariaman. The purpose of this study was to obtain a suitable dose of palm oil wastewater for culturing Skeletonema costatum microalgae, to analyze the chemical composition of Skeletonema costatum microalgae, to identify the ability of Skeletonema costatum to utilize nitrate and phosphate content in palm oil wastewater, to see the effect of Skeletonema costatum on water quality which has been contaminated with palm oil liquid waste. The method used was an experimental method with a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 (six) treatment levels and 3 (three) replications. The treatment given was palm oil wastewater with different concentration treatment levels, namely 0%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% with 3 (three) repetitions so that a total of 18 experimental units, culture carried out for 6 days. The results showed that palm oil wastewater had an effect on the abundance of Skeletonema costatum. The best treatment for Skeletonema costatum culture media was P5 (300 ml/L), cell abundance 329,260 cells/mL, biomass (dry weight) 7.27 g, chlorophyll-a 0.84, nitrate 0.759 mg/L, phosphate 0.301 mg/L, protein 30.70%, fat 0.291% and carbohydrates 21.96%. Meanwhile, a good CO2 is P0 (control), the best dissolved oxygen level is P5 (300 ml/L). Water quality parameters for a temperature of 160C, pH 8.2.

Abstract

Nannochloropsis sp adalah fitoplankton yang biasa digunakan sebagai sumber makanan alami zooplankton, seperti Rotifer (Brachionus plicatilis). Nutrisi dan kualitas air pada media kultur sangat berpengaruh pada kepadatan Nannochloropsis sp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis terbaik pupuk organik cair limbah ikan patin (Pangasianodon hypohthalmus) terhadap tingkat kepadatan Nannochloropsis sp. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Juni 2023 di Laboratorium Mutu Lingkungan Budidaya (MLB) Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan Universitas Riau dan di Laboratorium Zooplankton Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Laut Lampung (BBPBL). Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 7 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian pupuk organik cair limbah ikan patin memberikan pengaruh terhadap populasi Nannochloropsis sp. Perlakuan terbaik didapatkan pada Pupuk Conwy (PC) dengan populasi sel sebanyak 11139x104±364.04 sel/mL, namun dari hasil uji statistik pada perlakuan dengan POC dosis 12,5 mL/L menunjukkan populasi sebanyak yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan pemberian pupuk Conwy (PC). Kisaran parameter kulitas air dalam media kultur selama penelitian yaitu suhu 21°C-27°C, pH 7,70-9.20, DO 4,29-6,88 mg/L, salinitas 25-41 ppt, nitrat dan fosfat berkisar antara <0.02-8,10 mg/L dan 0,35-3,62 mg/L, serta warna pada media kultur Nannochloropsis sp. selama penelitian terus meningkat hingga pada puncak populasi.

Abstract

Limbah ikan patin merupakan suatu produk yang dapat digunakan sebagai pupuk organik cair dan dapat membantu mengurangi masalah lingkungaan yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian POC limbah ikan patin (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) sebagai media kultur Tetraselmis chuii. Bibit T.chuii yang digunakan berasal dari pengkulturan Balai Besar Budidaya Laut (BBPBL) Lampung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 taraf perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Dosis perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (5 mL/L), P2 (7,5 mL/L), P3 (10 mL/L), P4 (12,5 mL/L) dan PC (pupuk conwy PA 1 mL/L. Puncak kepadatan sel tertinggi setelah PC terjadi pada P4 dengan dosis 12,5 ml/L, dengan kepadatan populasi tertinggi sebesar 359,83x104±19,66 sel/ml pada hari ke-7 dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik sebesar 0,34 sel/mL/hari. Kualitas air selama penelitian berada dalam kisaran yang optimum dan masih dapat di toleransi untuk pertumbuhan dan reproduksi T. chuii yaitu suhu dengan nilai Suhu 23-27°C, pH 8,1-9,8, DO 5,05-6,10 mg/L, salinitas 30-36 ppt, nitrat 0,030-2,568 mg/L, fosfat 0,45-1,99 mL/L, dan warna media kultur selama penelitian terus meningkat mulai dari hijau muda/cerah hingga hijau tua/pekat pada masa puncak populasi.

Abstract

Daun ketapang (Terminalia catappa) merupakan salah satu bahan alami yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menurunkan pH. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh serta mendapatkan dosis terbaik larutan daun ketapang terhadap perbaikan parameter kimia air media pertumbuhan ikan jelawat. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) empat taraf perlakuan dan tiga kali pengulangan. P0 (kontrol), Penggunaan larutan daun ketapang dengan dosis 2 g/L (P1), P2 dosis 4 g/L, P3, dosis 6 g/L. Daun ketapang diblender hingga menghasilkan bubuk halus, selanjutnya bubuk halus ditimbang masing-masing, yaitu 20 g, 40 g, dan 60 g, kemudian dilarutkan menggunakan air panas dengan suhu 100°C sebanyak 1 L untuk masing-masing perlakuan, diaduk dan seduhan disaring. Larutan berupa cairan dimasukkan ke dalam wadah pemeliharaan dengan volume air 9 L/perlakuan. Pemberian larutan daun ketapang memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap perbaikan parameter kimia air media pertumbuhan ikan jelawat. Perlakuan dosis terbaik adalah P2 dengan menghasilkan pertumbuhan berat mutlak sebesar 1,46 ±0,57 g, dan panjang mutlak sebesar 0,93 ±0,57 cm.

Abstract

Pupuk organik cair (POC) limbah ikan patin mengandung unsur hara N, P, dan K. Unsur hara tersebut sangat dibutuhkan untuk pertumbuhan populasi Azolla microphylla di media air gambut yang dapat memperbaiki parameter kualitas air gambut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian POC limbah ikan patin terhadap pertumbuhan A. microphylla di media air gambut serta memperoleh dosis POC limbah ikan patin yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan A. microphylla. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di bulan Mei sampai Juni 2023 di Laboratorium Mutu Lingkungan Budidaya Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan, Universitas Riau. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemberian POC limbah ikan patin yang berbeda dengan dosis P0 (kontrol), P1 (1,25 mL/L), P2 (1,5 mL/L), P3 (1,75 mL/L), dan P4 (2 mL/L). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian POC limbah ikan patin berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan A. microphylla. Dosis terbaik pada penelitian ini adalah 1,5 mL/L dengan rata-rata laju pertumbuhan relatif sebesar 59,55 g/hari, pertambahan biomassa 1786,66 g, dan kepadatan 3504,26 ind/m2. Selanjutnya nilai parameter kualitas air selama penelitian untuk suhu (28-30 0C), TDS (79,66-134,33 mg/L), warna air gambut coklat terang hingga coklat gelap, kecerahan (13,4-16,3 cm), pH (3,4-5,5), DO (5,1-5,5 mg/L), alkalinitas (17,00-31,90 ppm), CO2 (9,78-34,77 mg/L), nitrat (3,83-7,12 mg/L), dan orthofosfat (1,05-3,94 mg/L).

Abstract

Peningkatan produksi kelapa sawit akan berdampak pada peningkatan jumlah limbah yang dihasilkan. Ikan jelawat (Leptobarbus hoevenii) merupakan ikan asli perairan Indonesia terutama terdapat di sungai, danau dan perairan umum lainnya sehingga berpotensi tercemar limbah kelapa sawit. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktor. Pada uji pendahuluan tujuh perlakuan dan dua kali ulangan, pada uji toksisitas akut lima taraf perlakuan tiga kali ulangan dan pada uji sublethal empat taraf perlakuan tiga kali ulangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan pada uji toksisitas akut dan sub–lethal ada pengaruh limbah cair kelapa sawit terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan benih ikan jelawat dan perlakuan dalam uji sub-lethal yang terbaik terdapat pada konsentrasi P1 (1,98 mL/L) dengan bobot mutlak 2,37 g, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 1,63% dan kelulushidupan 100%. Nilai batas aman biologi limbah cair kelapa sawit untuk ikan jelawat, yaitu 1,98 mL/L. Gambaran histologi struktur jaringan usus ikan jelawat terlihat adanya kerusakan seperti edema, hemoragi dan nekrosis. Parameter kualitas air seperti suhu air berkisar antara 26-28˚C, pH berkisar antara 6-7,9, DO berkisar antara 3,1-4,3 mg/L, CO₂ berkisar antara 8,2-14,1 mg/L dan amoniak berkisar 0,0052- 0,0568 mg/L. Nilai LC50 96 jam yaitu 198.58 mL/L

Abstract

The research was conducted from Agustus - September 2020 at the Aquaculture Environmental Quality Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau. This study aims to determine the effect of feeding made from fish offal on the growth of catfish and the abundance of zooplankton. The method used was a completely randomized design experiment with one factor, five treatments, and three replications. The treatment used P0 = without giving fish offal pellets, P1 =25% of fish offal pellets, P2 = 50% of fish offal pellets, P3 = 75% of fish offal pellets, and P4 = 100% of fish offal pellets. Parameters observed were zooplankton abundance, diversity index, dominance index, specific growth rate, survival, and water quality. The results of the provision of fish offal pellets affected the abundance of zooplankton. The best treatment in this study was the P2 (50% fish offal pellets) with the results of zooplankton abundance of 6686 ind/L, a specific growth rate of 2.80%, a feed conversion ratio of 1.25, and survival rate of 83.33%. Water quality parameters during the research were classified as good, and the temperature was 28-29 0C, pH 6.7-7.0, DO 6.7-7.2 mg/L, and NH3 0.0022- 0.0045 mg/L.

Abstract

Green water is one of the growing media which can increase the growth of Daphnia magna. This study aims to determine the effect of green water on the abundance of D. magna. The method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatment levels and 3 repetitions. Treatment P0 = control, P1 = administration of green water at a dose of 7.5 ml/L, P2 = dose of 8.5 ml/L, P3 = dose of 9.5 ml/L. Green water is made with goat manure and bran. Then the two ingredients are mixed in a jar and water is added. Then let stand for 3-7 days and stirred every 2 times a day. The D. magna seeds used were 6 days old with a stocking density of 10 ind/L. The application of green water soaked in rice bran and goat manure had a significant effect on the abundance of D. magna. The best dose treatment was P3 which produced 2900 ind/l with the highest specific growth rate of 0.710746% with water quality that was still relatively good for the growth of D. magna
