Abstract

Abstract: The learning tools developed are the Conceptual Understanding Procedures model learning tools in improving the mastery of science and physics concepts on work and simple planes in class VIII Junior High School, consisting of Learning Plans and Student Worksheets. The purpose of this research is to produce a valid Conceptual Understanding Procedures learning device that is used to improve the mastery of the concepts of science and physics on work and simple planes in class VIII Junior High School. This research is expected to be a reference for making innovative learning tools and can be used as a basis in the teaching and learning process so that learning objectives can be achieved. This type of research is development research using the Hannafin and Peck (H&P) model.. This research is only limited to the development stage. The research instrument used was the Learning Plans and Student Worksheets validation assessment sheets which were used by the validator to assess learning tools. Data analysis in this study used descriptive analysis, by calculating the validity score of each indicator of the learning device. The results showed that the Conceptual Understanding Procedures learning device model was declared valid with an average RPP score of 3.25 in the very high category and the LKPD score of 3.30 in the very high category. mastery of students' concepts on work and simple planes. Abstract

Abstract: This research was aimed to describe the level of sains generic skill at the second year students of MIA program of SMA 8 Pekanbaru toward student’s competency of calor material and it’s movement. This research was a survey research. The result of the data analysis used descriptive analysis which described the level of student’s sains generic skill. The subject of this research was 76 students of MIA program at the second year. The data gotten from this research was in average percentages of the student’s level of sains generic skill in solving the physics phenomenon. This instrument was developed based on the indicators of sains generic skill. Then, the data was categorized based on the level of sains generic skill category namely directly observation, non-directly observation, language symbolic, logical inference, cause effect relationship, modeling of math, awareness of big scale, and concept construction. Based on the data analysis showed that the average percentages of each indicators as follows: 75,72% for directly observation, 47,07 % for non-directly observation, 69,01 % for language symbolic, 78,91 % for logical inference, 68,13 % for cause effect relationship, 69,54 % for modeling of math, 58,49 % for awareness of big scale, and 65,07 % for concept construction. The overall percentages of the students’ generic sains skill was 67,16% categorized into high level. The highest percentage was 72, 37 % and the lowest percentage was 27,63%.Key words: Sains generic skill, Solving problem, Logical thinking.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aimed to determine student attitude of science on learning grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Negeri Pasir Penyu. The kinds of this study was a survey. The population in this study was student of SMP Negeri 2 Pasir Penyu and sample in this study was students grade VIII consisted of four classes used purposive sampling. The data was collected by nontest with questionnaire . The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistic techniques. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the application of Think Talk Write Cooperative Type models in thermodynamic material. The study was conducted in eleventh grade of Senior High School 1 Rambatan West Sumatra. This type of research was quasi-experimental with the design of the Posttest Only Nonequivalent Control Group. The data collection technique was un understanding test using a score instrument. The data analysis technique was in the form of descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results obtained by the average score of concept understanding in the experimental class was 80.75 with good categories, while in the control class it was 47.99 in the poor category. Based on the analysis of T-test data was obtained 9,027>1,6575 and 0,00<0,05 so that H0 was rejected. The conclusions of this study are: the application of Think Talk Write type Cooperative learning models is more effective in improving students 'conceptual understanding and there are significant differences in students' conceptual understanding between the experimental class and the control class.Keywords : Cooperative type Think Talk Write, concepts understanding, Laws of Thermodynamics

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to develop Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri (UKBM) based on Higher-Order Thingking Skills (HOTS) on static fluid basic material that valid. There are 4 static fluid Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri that developed, namely, 1st UKBM is Hydrostatic Pressure, 2nd UKBM is Pascal's Law, 3rd UKBM is Archimedes Law and 4th UKBM is Surface Tension. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D. The data was collected through the UKBM validation assessment sheet which was filled by the validator. The aspects of UKBM that are assessed include aspects of presentation feasibility, content feasibility, linguistic feasibility and graphic feasibility as well as an assessment of HOTS aspects. The results of the validation of UKBM for Static Fluid obtained an average of 3.50. Thus be concluded that the device Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri (UKBM) based Higher Order Thinking Skiils (HOTS) on static fluid basic material was valid.Keywords: Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri (UKBM), Higher-Order Thinking Skills, Static Fluid UKBM.

Abstract

Abstract:This study aims to produce a cognitive test instrument based on Bloom Anderson's taxonomy on material elasticity and Hooke's law to measure students' cognitive abilities. This type of research used in research is Research and Development (R&D) by using a 4-D development model (Define, Design, Development and Dissemination). The research phase starts from defining and defining the development requirements, then continues the design phase by developing question indicators based on Bloom Anderson's taxonomy. The test questions developed were in the form of multiple choice consisting of 6 cognitive levels (C1-C6) totaling 18 items based on Bloom Anderson's taxonomy. After being developed, it was continued with question validation by 3 lecturers of Physics Education FKIP Riau University and 3 Physics teachers. The valid questions were limited to 36 students. The results of the analysis of the validation of the test instrument by the expert team showed that the cognitive test was categorized as very valid with a value of 80.5%. Based on a limited trial, it was found that the validity of the items from 18 questions was stated as 15 valid questions, and had a reliability value of 0.61 with a high level of reliability. So that the developed test instrument is used to measure students' cognitive abilities on material elasticity and Hooke's law.Keywords:development, test instruments, Bloom Anderson taxonomy, elasticity and Hooke's law

Abstract

Abstract: This study was aimed to describe the logical thinking ability of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru by a contextual approach on sound material. The study was conducted from March to april 2018. The subject in this study was 79 students in the two classes have been tested normality and homogeneity. Pre experimental research in the form of intact group comparison was use as the research model. Logical thinking ability test consisting of 15 items of multiple choice option was use as the instrument to obtain the data. Descriptive analisis was used to analize the data and giving a description about the level of logical thinking ability. The logical thinking ability test instrument was developed based on each indicator of logical thinking ability. The data was categorized by the category of logical thinking ability with variable controlling indicators, proporsional reasoning, probabilistic reasoning, correlation reasoning and combinatorial reasoning. Based on the data analysis, the average score of students logical thinking ability in the experimental class was 74,36 which was in in logic category and 62,00 control class which was in quite logic category.Keywords: Contextual approach, Logical Thinking Ability, Logical thinking ability indicator

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to describe the outcomes learning of IX SMP students by implementing constructivist approach using virtual lab on magnetism and its uses and to find out the improvement of the outcomes learning of IX SMP students on magnetism and its uses. This research method is quasi experiment (Post-test only control design) applied to student of SMPN 1 Bangkinang Kota and the instrument of this research is cognitive learning outcomes test on magnetism and its uses. The object of this research is experiment class that given any treatment (implementing constructivist approach using virtual lab) and control class that implementing conventional approach. The result of the study shows that learning outcomes of IX SMP students that implementing constructivist approach using virtual lab on magnetism and its uses is higher than the learning outcomes of IX SMP students that implementing conventional approach, and there is also an improvement about the learning outcomes of IX SMP student that implementing constructivist approach using virtual lab on magnetis and its uses.Key Words : Constructivist Approach, Virtual Lab, Learning Outcomes, Magnetism and its uses.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe and find out the differences in cognitive learning outcomes in classes that apply learning using laboratorium virtuals, PhET Simulation and the Physics Classroom, as an experimental class compared to a class that applies conventional learning as a control class. The type of research used is quantitative with the Quasi Experimental research method and the Nonequivalent Post-test Control Group Design research design. This research was conducted at SMP N 42 Pekanbaru by using cognitive learning outcomes tests on the Light subject. The cognitive learning outcomes test consists of 20 multiple choice questions based on cognitive level according to Bloom's taxonomy revision. The data in this study were in the form of achievement scores of students' cognitive learning outcomes after being given treatment which were analyzed descriptively. Furthermore, differences in cognitive learning outcomes were analyzed using the SPSS version 25 application for inferential analysis. Based on the descriptive analysis and inferential analysis of the data, the cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental class students were 71.76, while the control class was 53.59. Thus it can be concluded that learning using laboratorium virtuals, PhET Simulation and the Physics Classroom, has an influence on the cognitive learning outcomes of students at SMP N 42 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Virtual laboratory, PhET Simulation, the Physics Classroom, Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Light Subject

Abstract

This research explores the integration of the Duano tribe's shellfish manongkah tradition into science education to develop culturally relevant learning modules. This research aims to address the gap between local wisdom and its application in science learning, increasing students' understanding and appreciation of their cultural heritage. A qualitative approach was used by conducting surveys and interviews with the Duano tribe community and distributing questionnaires to teachers and students in the Indragiri Hilir coastal area as many as 40 respondents. The findings in this research are that the shellfish Manongkah tradition can be integrated into learning. Furthermore, many teachers and students know about the Manongkah Shell tradition, have never carried out culture-based learning, there is a lack of teaching materials at school, and teachers lack understanding of culture-based learning. This research highlights the importance of contextual learning in preserving cultural traditions while providing practical solutions to today's educational challenges. In conclusion, to overcome this problem, it is necessary to develop a science learning module based on the Manongkah Shellfish tradition so that apart from overcoming this problem, it is hoped that it will be able to improve students' 21st century skills.
