Abstract

Abstract: The ROPES learning model is a learning model with a complete and interrelated series of activities that can improve students' abilities and active roles in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the cognitive learning outcomes of class XI high school students by applying the ROPES learning model to sound wave material. The type of research used is experimental research with the "True experimental design" method with the form of research design "Post-test only control design". This research was conducted at MAN 1 Pekanbaru with a total sample of 62 students consisting of 32 students of class XI IPA RISET 2 as the experimental class and 30 students of class XI IPA IT as the control class. The data collection instrument was in the form of a cognitive learning outcome test for sound waves consisting of 20 multiple choice questions. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis in the form of student absorption and inferential analysis in the form of data normality test, data homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing with the Mann Whitney test assisted by SPSS version 26. The results of this study indicate that the cognitive learning outcomes of experimental class students are based on absorption capacity. better than the control class and there is a significant difference in students' cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class that applies the ROPES learning model and the control class that applies the conventional learning model. Keywords: Cognitive Student Learning Outcome, ROPES Learning Model, Sound Wave

Abstract

One of the physics materials that is included in the abstract category is optical devices, especially the process of light entering the eye through a lens that cannot be seen directly by humans. The use of learning media combined with virtual reality is an alternative problem by providing visualization of material that becomes concrete in 3D or can be seen in 360°, making it easier for teachers and students in the learning process. This research aims to determine the feasibility of virtual reality-based learning media for optical devices in order to increase understanding of concepts in optical equipment, especially eyes and glasses. Validity testing is carried out by validating the learning media by experts and practicality testing is carried out by testing the media on teachers and high school students. The results of the research show that the average value of the validity test for virtual reality-based learning media reached 87% with valid criteria and while the practicality test by teachers and students obtained an average score of 90% by teachers and 89% by students with practical criteria so that the media Virtual reality-based learning is suitable for use to help the learning process in schools. Based on the validity and practicality analysis, the media can be used in real learning processes and can be tested further regarding its effectiveness.

Abstract

This research purpose to analyze effective usage of the media in the course of study and also know student response to usage of the appliance. This subject of the research was the students of XB Class of SMA 12 Pekanbaru consist of 44 students. Compiler data instrument in the form of the test result of learning to see the effectiveness of the appliance and questionnaire to know efficiency and also student response to the appliance. In analyzing data used by descriptive analysis and analysis usage of alternative media for thestudy of wave and optic in class XB. From data analysis obtained by usage of physics appliance effective enough where mean student absorption 74,70 %, while physic appliance efficiency resides in a high category with the mean score as a whole is 4,01. While the analysis of usage of media can be categorized is effective, although done by activity is the student cannot in perceiving directly, because of the limitation of time in study. So that more student work and can do experiments at home by teaming.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the necessity of virtual reality (VR)-based learning media for teaching Earth and Solar System content at the junior high school level. The central issue addressed is the development of innovative educational tools that incorporate VR technology to facilitate the learning of abstract scientific concepts. A quantitative approach employing a survey method was utilized, involving 80 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. Participants were selected through convenience sampling based on availability. Data were gathered using an online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms over a two-week period and analyzed descriptively. Findings revealed that 56% of students experienced difficulties in comprehending Earth and Solar System material due to its abstract nature. Furthermore, 92% expressed a strong need for learning media capable of transforming abstract content into concrete visual representations to enhance conceptual understanding. These results underscore a significant demand for VR-based instructional media in science education, particularly in topics requiring high levels of visualization. The study implies that integrating virtual reality into the classroom could effectively address existing learning barriers, increase student engagement, and support the development of a deeper understanding of scientific phenomena through immersive technological experiences. Keywords: learning media, earth, solar system, virtual reality,
