Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to analyze technical, economic and price efficiency and inefficiency, (2) to analyze household food security of cassava farmers.  The cassava production center of East Lampung Regency was selected purposively with total sample of 60 cassava farmers using simple random sampling.  Data were collected in December 2021.  The research method was a survey, using primary and secondary data.  Data were analyzed using the stochastic frontier production function with the Frontier 4.1 program, and the level of food security categorized based on FAO and Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 7 of 1996.  The calculated average results show that the levels of technical efficiency (TE), allocative efficiency (AE), and economic efficiency (EE) of cassava farmers in East Lampung are 86 percent, 100 percent, and 100 percent respectively.  This shows that the existing agricultural resources can increase average production efficiency by 14 percent each for technical efficiency, while allocative efficiency and economic efficiency have reached a maximum in the very efficient category.  The findings also indicate that the variables of land area, KCl fertilizer, and organic fertilizer have a significant effect on cassava production.  The variable factors that influence the technical inefficiency factor in East Lampung are farmer group participation, and the distance to the factory.  The food security category in this study is 73.33 percent of farming households categorized as unsafe, and 26.67 percent are categorized as less safe.  This study concludes that resource allocation by farmers is inefficient.  Therefore, the efforts to increase productivity must be followed by an efficient use of resources to have a significant impact on the food security of farmer households, and to develop strategic implications for farmer welfare. Keywords:  cassava, food security, production efficiency

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the financial and non-financial feasibility in Labany fresh goat milk business in Metro City. This research was conducted from January to February 2025. The research method utilized in this study was a case study method. The Respondents in this study were consisted of various people including the owner of fresh milk business, five employees, three residents, and two consumers. The data analysis method used was financial feasibility analysis by calculating investment criteria including NPV, IRR, Gross B/C, Net B/C and Payback Period and for non-financial analysis using descriptive analysis by analyzing technical aspects, economic and market aspects, social engineering, and the environment. The results of the financial analysis of Labany goat milk business are profitable and feasible to develop. Based on the sensitivity scenario, cost changes have a maximum limit of 58 percent, while cost increases have a limit of 90 percent. Meanwhile, based on non-financial analysis involved technical aspects, economic and market aspects, social engineering aspects, and environmental technical aspects, Labany goat milk business is very feasible to run.   Key words:  feasibility, goat milk, risk , sensitivity analysis

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the effect of the use of production factors on cassava production, to analyze cassava income, to analyze the level of economic efficiency in the use of cassava production factors, and to analyze the risk of cassava farming in Lampung Province. Research methodology: The population consisted of 473 farmers from TerusanNunyai, Central Lampung regency. Interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires were all used to collect data. Results: The performance of cassava farming which is measured based on the income analysis, the average income value is Rp. 7.351.369,66 with an R/C ratio of 1,46. Then, production factors for NPK-Phonska, TSP/SP-36, KCL, manure, labor, pesticide, and land are not economically efficient in cassava farming, while seed production factors are not economically efficient yet. Income and production in cassava farming have a high risk. Limitations: There is unavoidable transaction cost; therefore, it is necessary to involve transaction costs to get the maximum profit to reach economic efficiency. Contribution: The contribution of this research is to provide input for cassava farmers to get maximum income by avoiding the slightest possible risk.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan landasan penting dalam pembangunan berkelanjutan. Hal ini bukan hanya memberikan bantuan atau sumber daya, tetapi juga memberikan akses, keterampilan, dan dukungan yang memungkinkan meningkatnya kapasitas, kemandirian, dan keterlibatan individu dalam sebuah komunitas. Peningkatan kapasitas dapat dilakukan dengan mengembangkan potensi wilayah dan SDM melalui komoditas unggulan. Salah satu sumber daya alam hasil laut adalah ikan yang merupakan Desa Margasari Kecamatan Labuhan Maringgai Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Sebagian besar masyarakat Desa Margasari belum memanfaatkan hasil tangkapannya untuk diolah lebih lanjut, padahal hasil tangkapan laut ini dapat diolah menjadi berbagai produk turunan, baik dalam skala usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) dalam rangka mengembangkan potensi ekonomi desa dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pendekatan nilai tambah produk. Produk olahan ikan yang paling banyak diolah masyarakat Desa Margasari adalah dijadikan ikan asin atau hanya dikeringkan saja. Melihat masih banyaknya jenis olahan ikan yang belum dicoba oleh masyarakat Desa Margasari, sehingga sangat memungkinkan untuk dijadikan peluang usaha baru. Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi juga sangat dibutuhkan agar masyarakat mampu mencari informasi terkait nilai tambah produk, menciptakan branding dan peningkatan penjualan melalui mix marketing. Oleh karena itu, dengan melakukan kegiatan pemberdayaan melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan UMKM, diharapkan masyarakat Desa Margasari, Labuhan Maringgai, Kabupaten Lampung Timur mampu membuat hasil laut khususnya ikan menjadi beberapa produk olahan yang memiliki nilai tambah, rasanya enak, murah, dan bergizi, serta memiliki pangsa pasar yang luas dengan memanfatkan teknologi informasi.
