Abstract

The nitrite-in-water examination should be noted for the existence of the iron metal cation (Fe+), in the water cation samples can affect the test result of nitrite levels at the time of reading in the UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Na2EDTA Additions function to bind the metal found in the sample as well as chemical disorders as in the presence of chemical formation that can lead to not perfecting the association of substances to be analyzed so as to influence measurements at the time of reading in Spectrophotometer. The nitrite rate assessment was measured using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer method with a wavelength of 534 nm. The measuring rate range is 0.01 mg/L to 1.00 mg/L. There are differences in nitrite-level test results on well-dug water around the TPA with addition and without Na2EDTA using Uv-vis spectrophotometry.

Abstract

Penggunaan antibiotik merupakan salah satu kebutuhan dasar kesehatan manusia yang berfungsi untuk menghambat atau membunuh pertumbuhan mikroorganisme. Sumber kegiatan yang berpotensi menghasilkan sisa antibiotik dalam badan air diantaranya melalui berbagai macam kegiatan dalam bidang pertanian, peternakan, pharmacueticals and personal care products dan industri. Sungai merupakan tempat pembuangan akhir dari semua sisa kegiatan, air dalam badan Sungai Musi di Kota Palembang menjadi bahan baku primer yang digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pola sebaran antibiotik dan kandungan antibiotik dalam badan air Sungai Musi Kota Palembang. Penelitian dilakukan dalam jangka waktu bulan Maret s.d. Oktober 2019, menggunakan penelitian observasi analitik dengan melakukan pengukuran cross sectional. Titik pengmabilan sampel di tiga lokasi, lokasi 1 (Jembatan Ampera), Lokasi 2 (Jembatan kertapati) dan lokasi 3 (Jembatan musi 2)  yang merupakan badan sungai Musi di Kota Palembang. Tahapan Analisis Laboratorium dilakukan untuk menentukan jenis antibiotik yang terdapat dalam sampel air dengan menggunakan Agilent 6540 Liquid Chromatography/Quadrupole Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (LC/Q-TOF/MS). LC/Q-TOF/MS menghasilkan nilai sensitivitas dan selektivitas yang baik serta memiliki kemampuan untuk melakukan screening terhadap obat-obatan yang belum diketahui jenisnya (untargetted).Teridentifikasi 2 jenis antibiotik yaitu Ciprofloxacin dan Netilmicin pada ketiga sampel air dan diperlukan analisis kuantitatif untuk mendapatkan konsentrasinya.

Abstract

In the processing of specimens, serum specifically should be separated from blood cell the process of glucose glycolysis which caused decreasing levels of glucose. The very high number of erythrocyte can cause a glycolysis, so the decreasing of the levels of glucose will be happen. This study was pre-experiment using One Group Pretest Posttest. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique and there were 30 subjects. The sample was EDTA bloods and serum which had been treated such as Separation of Glucose Serum which was 2 hours delayed and Separation of Glucose Serum which was checked directly. From this study we can found that the average of the glucose levels on serum separation which is 2 hours delayed was 91 mg/dL and the Separation of Glucose Serum which is checked directly was 97mg/dL. Based on paired T test the result, the data showed that there were differences from average levels of glucose between serum which was checked directly and separation of Serum which was 2 hours delayed. The average from the number of erythrocyte was 5,0 million/µL. Based on pearson correlation, there was no correlation between the number of erythrocyte and glucose level on serum separation which is 2 hours delayed.

Abstract

The present study aimed to study the effect of ?maturation media? on maturation rate of goat oocytesafter in vitro maturation. Goat ovaries were collected from a slaughter house in Godean, Sleman. Immediatelyafter slaughter the ovaries were collected, rinsed with physiological NaCl three times then placed in aflask containing the NaCl solutions and hept at 36-370C before transportaion to the laboratory. Oocyteswere observed under stereo microscope and its quality was classified into A, B, and C. Oocytes in vitromaturaion (IVM) was performed in TCM-199 media suplemented with : a) 0.4 mg/ml bovine serum albumin(BSA); and b) 10% newborn calf serum (NCS) then incubated at 38.50C with 5% CO2 for 24-27 h. Followingthis, oocytes were observed under inverted microscope for first polar body extrusion, then stained withaceto-orcein in order to evaluate nuck or maturation. The nuclear maturation stages including : germinalvesicles (GV), germinal vesicles break down (GVBD), metaphase I, apaphase I, telophase I and metaphaseII, respectivelly. The overall results showed that 74-74%, 52-66.6% and 21.5-23.8% of oocytes quality A, B,and C reached maturation at metaphase II, respectivelly. There were no significant differences in oocytesmaturation using media supplemented with either BSA or NCS.

Abstract

Frekuensi penggunaan air sangat tinggi seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi dan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk. Peningkatan standar hidup manusia yang semakin tinggi menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan terkait dengan kualitas air akibat bahan kimia, nutrisi, lindi, tumpahan minyak, pembuangan limbah bahan berbahaya, serta penggunaan bahan dispossable dan non-biodegradable. Perkembangan sumber daya teknologi menghasilkan suatu revolusi sehingga menghasilkan lebih banyak bahan dan senyawa kimia. sejumlah senyawa yang diidentifikasi memiliki ancaman potensial terhadap organisme lingkungan hidup. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi teknik pengolahan air limbah dengan menggabungkan dua sifat membran dalam mereduksi air limbah. Metode yang digunakan adalah review dari beberapa sumber pustaka dengan melakukan studi literatur terdahulu terhadap beberapa penelitian yang pernah dilakukan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian menghasilkan bahwa teknologi membran sebagai salah satu instalasi unit pengolahan limbah perkembangan dan kemajuannya sangat menjanjikan dan banyak dilakukan dalam proses dengan prinsip pemisahan dan pemurnian air. Teknologi membran bisa menjadi solusi dalam pengolahan air limbah, seiring dengan perkembangannya membran dapat dikombinasikan (Hybrid Process) dengan menggunakan berbagai jenis membrane yaitu Ultrafiltrasi, Mikrofiltrasi, Nanofiltrasi dan Reverse Osmosis, akan tetapi harus diperhatikan kondisi operasional dari proses tersebut. Kata kunci: air limbah, hybrid membrane, reduksi

Abstract

Clean water is one of the problems faced by the Santa Maria Orphanage. To solve this problem, a Community Service Team of the Musi Charitas Catholic University initiated to make a clean water treatment equipment and provide a training for using and maintaining it, and introduced the importance using of clean water for health. The equipment was made by adopting a hybrid membrane technology. It was gived to the manager of the Orphanage and given training to use and maintain it. While the activity evaluation of introducing the importance of clean water for health showed knowledge increasing of participants about 30%. Salah satu permasalahan yang ditemui di Panti Asuhan Santa Maria adalah ketersediaan air bersih. Hasil analisis laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa air yang digunakan oleh penghuni Panti Asuhan selama ini tidak memenuhi persyaratan air bersih. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Katolik Musi Charitas berinisiatif membuat alat pengolahan air bersih sekaligus meberikan pelatihan penggunaan dan perawatan alat tersebut, serta memberikan sosialisasi tentang pentingnya menggunakan air bersih bagi kesehatan. Alat pengolahan air bersih tersebut dibuat dengan mengadopsi teknologi membran hibrid. Pada saat pelaksanaan kegiatan, alat tersebut diserahkan kepada pengelola Panti Asuhan dan diberikan pelatihan untuk menggunakan dan merawat alat tersebut. Hasil evaluasi sosialisasi tentang pentingnya air bersih menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sosialisasi sebesar 30%.

Abstract

Health service is a primary need for our society. Health workers of Medical Laboratory Technology as a important role in public health needs through examination of human specimens including HBsAg. HBsAgused as a detection of hepatitis recorded by humans. Hepatitis B is a dangerous infectious disease while a problem in the world, especially Indonesia. Transmission of the hepatitis B virus is very easy and everyone has the potential to be infected, including high school students. Teenagers in high school do not understand the risks and health status that can be caused when infected with the Hepatitis B virus. Community service activities for students of SMAN 1 PUMU treatedHBsAg for 25 students with 1 student shows positive HBsAg results. This results indicate the potential for transmission of the Hepatitis B virus that can be transmitted if the the problem can’t be solved. Routine inspection programs need to do for early detection of Hepatitis B virus by collaborating with the stakeholders.

Abstract

The Palembang city still has several locations for Final Disposal Sites, one of which is located in Sukarame District. Sukawinatan landfill began operations in 1994 with a land area of 25 hectares and has been used 15 hectares, the remaining 10 hectares of land is estimated to be able to accommodate waste until 2028. In some part, groundwater is still used for daily life originating from groundwater, especially in RT 68, which is used for domestic needs such as bathing, brushing teeth, washing clothes, washing utensils, and cooking. The results showed that based on the physical parameters it was concluded that 5 odor samples fulfilled the requirements, 5 taste samples fulfilled the requirements, 4 samples of dissolved solids met the requirements, 3 turbidity samples fulfilled the requirements, and 5 temperature and color samples met the requirements. Based on the chemical parameters it was concluded that the five samples did not exceed the maximum permissible levels except for pH parameters. Based on organic chemical parameters it is concluded that all samples meet the criteria of organic chemistry. The water quality index of all good samples is very good.
