Abstract

The content of heavy metals of cadmium and lead in the blood of people used Musi River water for daily needs has a higher potential for contamination than live in urban areas. This study was to analyze the levels of cadmium in the blood as a biomarker of metal pollution and to see its effect on the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes. Research that is analytic observational. The population in this study were the mothers of 7 Ulu Kampung Kapitan Laut RT 52, Seberang Hulu 1 District, Palembang City. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method. Sample examination was carried out at the Palembang Health Laboratory Center. The results showed that there were 3 samples that contained heavy metals in their blood with levels varying between 0.3 to 1.1 mg/L. The level of cadmium in the blood is still relatively safe for humans, but the presence of the metal has a chronic effect on human health when used for daily activities continuously. Cadmium affects blood components, namely erythrocytes and leukocytes in the body because heavy metals can increase protoporphirin in red blood cells (erythrocytes) which causes a decrease in the number of red blood cells and triggers anemia. Heavy metals also trigger changes in the structure and number of leukocytes, especially monocytes.

Abstract

Abstract: The government of the Republic of Indonesia has reported that Indonesia potentially have more than 400,000 Megawatts (MW) of renewable energy by 2021. However, there is no comprehensive study about the trend of development and priority movement in the renewable energy sector. The main reason for the absence of this study is the lack of significant information and reports on the prospects for renewable energy in Indonesia. The present study aims to provide a basic understanding of renewable energy sector growth in Indonesia. The study uses quantitative analysis with the secondary data obtained from the literature. The result showed that the hydropower plant contributed the highest energy production in Indonesia followed by bioenergy, solar energy, and wind energy. Furthermore, the production trends of hydropower plants and bioenergy were relatively stagnant over the last 11 years, and the highest significant improvement was found in the solar energy sector. However, the number of solar energy production was far away from the targeted goal in RUEN (National Energy Master Plan/Rencana Utama Energi Nasional) 2017. The high cost of the solar energy sector become the main reason for the unsuccessful development of solar energy in Indonesia. Furthermore, several administrations and regulations were found to the political reasons which delay the energy transition improvement. The Government of the Republic of Indonesia must be able to improve and form regulations in the form of tax reduction regulations and electricity export-import subsidies to spur the growth and development of renewable energy in Indonesia. Opening up space for renewable energy investment in the public sector is a real contribution to society and is a solution to accelerate the achievement of the energy transition in Indonesia.Abstrak: Pemerintah Republik Indonesia telah melaporkan bahwa Indonesia memiliki potensi lebih dari 400.000 Megawatts (MW) Energi Baru dan Terbarukan (EBT) di tahun 2021. Namun, penelitian terhadap pola pengembangan dan pergerakan pengembangan EBT masih belum banyak ditemukan. Alasan utama dari tidak ditemukan penelitian ataupun studi tentang potensi EBT di Indonesia adalah keterbatasan informasi dan laporan terhadap prospek EBT di Indonesia. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan pemahaman dasar dari perkembangan sektor EBT di Indonesia. Studi ini menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari berbagai literatur. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga (PLT) Air menjadi sektor yang paling banyak memproduksi EBT di Indonesia disusul oleh PLT Bioenergi, PLT Surya, dan PLT Bayu. Namun, pola produksi energi menunjukkan PLT Air dan PLT Bioenergi menunjukkan produktivitas yang relative tetap pada 11 tahun terakhir dimana peningkatan produktivitas terbesar berada pada PLT Surya. Namun, jumlah produktivitas PLT Surya masih tergolong kecil jika dibandingkan dengan jumlah produksi target yang dilaporkan pada Rancangan Utama Energi Nasional (RUEN) 2017. Biaya yang tinggi dari PLT Surya menjadi alasan utama dari ketidakberhasilan pengembangan PLT Surya di Indonesia. Selain itu, beberapa alasan administratif dan regulasi ditemukan menjadi alasan politis yang dapat memperlambat pengembangan transisi energi di Indonesia. Pemerintah Republik Indonesia harus mampu memperbaiki dan membentuk regulasi berupa adanya regulasi pengurangan pajak dan subsidi ekspor-impor listrik untuk memacu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan energi terbarukan di Indonesia. Membuka ruang untuk investasi energi terbarukan ke sektor public merupakan kontribusi nyata ke masyarakat merupakan solusi untuk  mempercepat pencapaian transisi energi di Indonesia.

Abstract

Access to clean water in Indonesia is one of the biggest problems. The main problem faced by the community is due to limited water resources and the problem of limited water quantity. Hence, they are unable to meet the increasing needs of the community. The decline in water quality is due to domestic and industrial waste entering water bodies. The influence of human activities so that pollutants entering the environment's surface, water, and groundwater increases yearly. Toxic and dangerous substances cause many problems to the environment and health. One of the harmful poisonous substances is heavy metals. This observational research is descriptive-analytic by testing the levels of metal iron (Fe), Lead (Pb), and pH of residents' well water. The research sample was collected using a sample grabber for the well water residents of Talang Betutu, Palembang. Samples were examined in the laboratory on the same day. The sample in this study amounted to 7 samples of residents' well water, which is still used for daily activities such as bathing and washing. Examination of heavy metals using a Uv Vis Spectrophotometer. The results showed that all residents' samples contained Fe and Pb at levels that did not exceed the quality standards. The chronic impact of consuming water containing heavy metals must be a concern because it lasts for a specific time.

Abstract

 Abstract. The Santa Maria Orphanage seeks to be financially independent by making a food business. The business has been running for two years. The problem is that the manager does not yet understand the importance of Home Industry Food (P-IRT) and the unavailability of clean water at the Santa Maria Orphanage. The main sources of water used in the Orphanage are two rainwater and well water. Well water is only used for bathing and washing purposes because it is thought to have high acid levels. The activities carried out were intended to motivate business owners both the Business Manager of Santa Maria Orphanage (SanMa Business) and their two partners to seek P-IRT certificates and identify the water content used at the Santa Maria Orphanage. Based on the results of the activity feedback it is known that there is an increased understanding of the PIRT. While the results of laboratory analysis show that there are several parameters that exceed the permissible levels, namely smell, taste, color, turbidity and some metal elements. Abstrak. Panti Asuhan Santa Maria berupaya untuk mandiri secara finansial dengan membuat usaha makanan. Usaha tersebut sudah berjalan dua tahun. Permasalahannya adalah bahwa pengelola belum memahami pentingnya Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (P-IRT) dan belum tersedianya air bersih di Panti Asuhan Santa Maria. Sumber utama air yang digunakan di Panti Asuhan ada dua yaitu air hujan dan air sumur. Air sumur hanya digunakan untuk keperluan mandi dan mencuci saja karena diduga memiliki kadar asam yang tinggi. Kegiatan yang dilakukan ditujukan untuk memotivasi para pemilik usaha baik Pengelola Usaha Panti Asuhan Santa Maria (Usaha SanMa) maupun dua mitra mereka untuk mengupayakan sertifikat P-IRT dan mengidentifikasi kandungan air yang digunakan di Panti Asuhan Santa Maria. Berdasarkan hasil umpan balik kegiatan diketahui ada peningkatan pemahaman mengenai PIRT. Sedangkan hasil analisis laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa parameter yang melebihi kadar yang diperbolehkan yaitu bau, rasa, warna, kekeruhan dan beberapa unsur logam.Kata Kunci : Panti Asuhan, P-IRT, Identifikasi Air, Air Bersih

Abstract

Pelatihan penulisan dan publikasi artikel ilmiah sebagai bentuk pengabdian untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan kemampuan dosen Fakultas Teknik (FT) Universitas PGRI Palembang (UPGRIP) telah berhasil dilaksanakan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah langsung, pendampingan dan bedah manuskrip perwakilan dari masing-masing program studi di FT UPGRIP. Dari hasil pelatihan, pertambahan pemahaman mengenai penyusunan manuskrip, proses submit hingga cara merespon reviewer telah dirasakan oleh peserta. Tercapainya tujuan pelatihan diamati dari pre dan post-test pada peserta. Rata-rata peserta telah memahami proses penulisan dan publikasi artikel ilmiah adalah 50-75%. Pelaksanaan pelatihan berkelanjutan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pelatihan.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan akses air bersih di Desa Gunung Jati, OKU Timur Sumatera Selatan melalui penerapan teknologi pengolahan air berbasis membran. Kegiatan mencakup sosialisasi, survei kebutuhan, instalasi alat, dan pelatihan masyarakat. Hasil survei menunjukkan kebutuhan mendesak akan teknologi pengolahan air, terutama saat musim kemarau. Teknologi membran yang diimplementasikan mampu menurunkan tingkat kekeruhan air hingga 95% dan menghasilkan kualitas air sesuai standar konsumsi. Penggunaan pompa hemat energi juga meningkatkan efisiensi operasional. Sebanyak 75% peserta memahami prinsip kerja sistem, dan 70% mampu mengoperasikan instalasi secara mandiri. Selain menurunkan risiko penyakit akibat air tercemar, program ini juga mendorong peningkatan kapasitas teknis masyarakat. Tantangan utama meliputi keterbatasan pengetahuan awal dan kondisi lingkungan yang bervariasi. Untuk keberlanjutan, diperlukan edukasi lanjutan, penguatan koordinasi lokal, dan peningkatan sarana pendukung. Program ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam penyediaan air bersih dan pemberdayaan masyarakat, serta berpotensi direplikasi di wilayah pedesaan dengan permasalahan serupa.
