Abstract

The purpose of this study is 1) To find out the creative thinking skills of students in the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. 2) To compare the increase in each indicator of creative thinking using the scienctive-based Field Trip method. The research subjects were class X Science in Sukabumi Regency with 28 students. The research methodology used in this study is Quasi experiment with Non Equivalent Control Group Design, data collection techniques using purposive sampling. From the data analysis, it is known that the average value of the posttest of the experimental class students with a value of 77.88 using the Scientific-based Field Trip method and the average poststest value of the control class students by not using the Direct Intruction method is 66.76. There are significant differences in student learning outcomes, this is evidenced by the T-test obtained because Tcount = 4.444> TTabel = 2.004 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that the scientific method of field trip learning has a significant effect on students' creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

Background: This study aims to determine the effect of the blended learning model on the creative thinking ability of high school students on biotechnology materials at SMA N 1 Sukaraja, Sukabumi Regency. Methods: The method used in this study is a quasi-experimenal research design, namely the Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument used was an uraian test with 8 questions integrated with 5 indicators of creative thinking ability (Fluency, Flexibility, problem sensitivity, Originality, and Elaboration). Results: In testing the hypothesis using the independent sig (2-tailed) test is 0.00 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected. So use of the blended learning model on the creative thinking abilities help in the learning process to improve creative thinking in the learning process in the classroom. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is an effect on the use of the blended learning model on the creative thinking abilities of class XII students on biotechnology materials at SMA Negeri 1 Sukaraja.

Abstract

Saccharum edule Hassk (Terubuk) is a plant of the Poaceae family that after consuming its flowers as vegetables, Saccharum edule Hassk waste in the form of leaves and stems can be used as alternative animal feed. Improving the nutrition of crushed waste as an alternative feed can be done through ensilage using several mixed ingredients that can maximize the fermentation process. The study aimed to analyze the effect of differences in the ratio of starter microbial with a mixture of silage, such as molasses and rice bran, on the quality of the Saccharum edule Hassk waste silage. The research was conducted using leaf and stem material using the anaerobic fermentation method. The ratio of microbes, molasses, and rice bran used was 0.00067%:2%:4% (S1), 0.0008%:3%:6% (S2), and 0.001%:4%:8% (S3). The fermentation time was 14, 21, and 28 days. The results obtained showed that pH <4 was achieved by S1, S2, and S3, at 21 and 28 days of fermentation. Fleigh value (NF) of S1 and S2 at 21 days of fermentation was 72.47% while in S3 it was 72.20%. The NF at 28 days of fermentation was 85.53% in S1, and 85. 67% in S2 and S3. The highest protein content is in S2 at 10.37 ± 0.69% (p>0.05) in a fermentation time of 21 days.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-module that is integrated with education for sustainable development to train students' critical thinking competencies on the subject of the human digestive system. The method used in this study is a type of quantitative method. The type of research is development (Research & Development) using the ADDIE research model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects used in the study were 45 students from class XI IPA 3 and XI IPA 4 at MA Negeri 2 Sukabumi City. The instruments used were assessments from material, media, and language experts, giving pretest and posttest questions, using attitude scale sheets, and response sheets to determine the effectiveness of the e-module and critical thinking competence in students. Research has results showing that: 1) validation or assessment by material experts shows that this e-module is valid, media and language experts say it is very valid with an average percentage of 82.3% ± 11.1; 2) the effectiveness test of the N-gain calculation states that the e-module is in the medium category with an average N-gain value of 0.52 ± 0.03; 3) the attitude scale sheet states that students have high critical thinking competence, the attitude scale is at a percentage of 77.4% ± 1.88 which is in the very good category; and 4) the response test states that this e-module is very valid to use with a percentage of 83.2% ± 11.6. Judging from the results and discussion, the development of e-module in the ADDIE model can train critical thinking competencies and is suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Students' critical thinking abilities are still low for both female and male students. Initial data results obtained from the pretest, female students with a percentage of 35% and male students with a percentage of 27%. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the project-based learning model assisted by the flipped classroom on gender-based junior high school students' critical thinking abilities on the concept of water pollution. This research uses a quantitative type of research with a sample of class VII students at SMPN 6 Sukabumi City, even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The instrument used is a critical thinking skills test. The results obtained show that the average posttest score for female students is 74.2 ± 12.6 and male students is 69.0 ± 11.0. Both of them have increased from the pretest and posttest, but the female scores are superior. The percentage per ability indicator based on gender in indicators 1,2,3 shows that women are superior to men. However, in indicators 4 and 5, women and men are the same. Overall, the data shows that there is no significant difference in learning using the Project Based Learning model assisted by Flipped Classroom between female and male students. However, based on indicators, female students are superior to male students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis berbasis gender dan diferensiasi pada pembelajaran biologi berbasis etnosains. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX dari salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Sukabumi dengan sampel sebanyak 62 peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu atau quasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berupa pilihan ganda sebanyak 15 soal dan angket sikap sebanyak 7 soal dengan 5 indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis. Data hasil penelitian menunjukan pembelajaran biologi berbasis etnosains dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang terlihat dari adanya peningkatan dari nilai n-gain pretest dan posttest sebesar 0,58 atau kategori sedang.  Kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik laki-laki lebih unggul dibandingkan peserta didik perempuan dan peserta didik kelompok kelas atas lebih tinggi dibandingkan peserta didik kelompok tengah dan bawah. Rata-rata angket sikap kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 76,61 atau kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji Korelasi berganda nilai Sig. F Change adalah 0,040 atau <0,05 maka terdapat hubungan antara gender dan diferensiasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Simpulan dalam penelitian ini, kemampuan berpikir kritis berbasis gender dan diferensiasi meningkat pada pembelajaran biologi berbasis diferensiasi.

Abstract

Kebijakan belajar secara online telah merubah pola serta kebiasan pembelajaran yang selama ini dilakukan. Kebiasaan baru dalam pembelajaran ini memberikan peluang bagi guru untuk melakukan penelitian untuk mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran online. Hal ini mendorong program studi pendidikan biologi FKIP universitas muhammadiyah sukabumi untuk melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PPM) untuk menjembatani guru melakukan penelitian. Kegiatan PPM ini merupakan bentuk aktifitas tridarma yang bisa dilakukan oleh dosen di perguruan tinggi. Bentuk PPM yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah terhadap Guru IPA SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) se-Kabupaten Sukabumi (n=30). Pelatihan ini dibutuhkan oleh para guru untuk mendorong produktifitas penelitian guru khususnya pada masa pandemi serta mendorong guru melakukan publikasi pada jurnal imiah bereputasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, pelatihan dan coaching clinic penulisan artikel untuk terbit di jurnal bereputasi. Materi yang diberikan dalam pelatihan ini adalah: Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Trend Penelitian Pendidikan IPA, Penulisan Artikel Ilmiah dan Mendeley Hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah meningkatnya kemampuan guru dalam melakukan penelitian dan dapat menulis karya ilmiah dan mengirimkannya ke jurnal nasional bereputasi. The online learning policy has changed the learning patterns and habits that have previously been carried out. This new habit in learning provides opportunities for teachers to research to develop learning strategies in online learning. This encourages the biology education study program at FKIP Muhammadiyah University Sukabumi to carry out community service (PPM) to provide a bridge for teachers to conduct research. This PPM activity is a form of tridharma activity that can be carried out by lecturers at universities. The form of PPM carried out was in the form of scientific writing training for junior high school (Junior High School) science teachers throughout Sukabumi Regency (n=30). This training is needed by teachers to encourage teacher research productivity, especially during the pandemic and to encourage teachers to publish in reputable scientific journals. The methods used are lectures, training, and coaching clinics for writing articles to be published in reputable journals. The material provided in this training is Classroom Action Research, Science Education Research Trends, Scientific Article Writing, and Mendeley. The result of this training is an increase in teachers' ability to conduct research and be able to write scientific papers and send them to reputable national journals.

Abstract

Purpose - Many people do not know the potential that the Waluran Village area has. So, this service aims to provide education to the public regarding the potential of family medicinal plants (TOGA) through the conservation of medicinal plants. Design/methodology/approach - The service methods used are socialization, education, formation of medicinal plant conservation groups, and training. Finding - The results of the service showed that 50 types of medicinal plants were obtained from the exploration of medicinal plants, with the superior local plant in the target village being the leaves of karas bone (Chlorantus elatior). Originality/value - The local community also responded well, that this activity really helped the problems that occurred in their area.

Abstract

Abstrack The research conducted was motivated by the demands of the school curriculum in improving learning with students who had difficulty doing HOTS questions, so that students' HOTS abilities were still low. This study aims to determine the ability to think higher order (hots) in CTL is distinguished by looking at the increase in students' higher order thinking skills (hots) based on student learning styles. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive. The subjects of the study were 30 students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Sukabumi. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling using the Multiple Choice HOTS test instrument. The results showed that the percentage of students' HOTS ability averaged 72.87 ± 18.26% with good criteria, with the average pretest and posttest results of the linguistic learning group were 43.37 ± 8.34% and postest 70.89 ± 6.29 %. While in the visual-auditory learning style, the pretest value was 43.64 19.10%, and the postest value was 78.64 ± 9.33%. Furthermore, the percentage of N-gain scores on the ability of HOTS students in the linguistic and visual-auditory learning groups was in the medium category, namely in the linguistic learning group with a value of 0.48 and in visual-auditory learning got a value of 0.62. Therefore, learning using the CTL model is well differentiated to improve HOTS seen from the increase in the percentage of HOTS ability and N-Gain value of each linguistic and visual-auditory learning style group, with the highest value obtained by the visual-auditory group. Thus, the HOTS ability of the visual-auditory group is superior to the HOTS ability of the linguistic learning group. Abstrak Penelitian yang dilakukan dilatar belakangi oleh tuntutan kurikulum sekolah dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran dengan siswa yang kesulitan mengerjakan soal HOTS, sehingga kemampuan HOTS siswa masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (hots) melalui model belajar CTL dibedakan melalui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (hots) siswa berdasarkan kebutuhannya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa SMP Negeri 1 Kota Sukabumi yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling menggunakan instrumen tes HOTS Pilihan Ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase kemampuan HOTS siswa rata-rata 72,87 ± 18,26% dengan kriteria baik, dengan rata-rata hasil pretest dan posttest kelompok pembelajaran linguistik adalah 43,37 ± 8,34% dan postest 70,89 ± 6,29%. Sedangkan pada gaya belajar visual-auditory nilai pretest 43,64 19,10%, dan nilai postest 78,64 ± 9,33%. Selanjutnya persentase skor N-Gain pada kemampuan HOTS siswa kelompok pembelajaran linguistik dan visual-auditory berada pada kategori sedang yaitu pada kelompok pembelajaran linguistik dengan nilai 0,48 dan pada pembelajaran visual-auditory mendapat nilai 0,62. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran melalui model CTL berdiferensiasi baik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS dilihat dari kenaikan persentase kemampuan HOTS dan nilai N-Gain setiap kelompok gaya belajar linguistik dan visual-auditory, dengan nilai tertinggi diperoleh oleh kelompok visual-auditory. Sehingga, kemampuan HOTS kelompok visual-auditory lebih unggul dibandingkan kemampuan HOTS kelompok belajar linguistik.
