Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the knowledge level of UNESA cosmetics students and their attitudes toward sunscreen use. This quantitative correlational research involved 64 cosmetics education students from UNESA who had taken cosmetology courses. Purposive sampling was employed, and data collection utilized questionnaires distributed to respondents. Product moment correlation analysis measured the relationship between knowledge and attitudes. Results showed 93.53% of respondents demonstrated high knowledge, while 70.23% exhibited inadequate attitudes toward sunscreen use. Pearson correlation (2-tailed) yielded 0.0001, with a strength coefficient of 0.657, indicating significant and strong correlation between knowledge and attitudes. Therefore, a strong relationship exists between UNESA cosmetics students' knowledge and their attitudes toward sunscreen use. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude towards Use, Sunscreen.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam penataan rambut gaya free style half up di SMKN 1 Buduran Sidoarjo. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 35 siswa kelas XI Tata Kecantikan yang mengikuti pembelajaran penataan rambut. Hasil observasi penerapan metode demonstrasi menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sangat baik pada setiap aspek (pendahuluan: 3,72, kegiatan inti: 3,85, penutupan: 3,83). Tes keterampilan siswa menunjukkan 100% kelulusan dengan nilai rata-rata 85,09. Uji t one sample menghasilkan t hitung 16,424 yang lebih besar dari t tabel 1,69092, dengan signifikansi 0,05, sehingga hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Respon siswa terhadap metode demonstrasi mencapai 94,28%, menunjukkan ketertarikan dan pemahaman yang baik. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode demonstrasi terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam penataan rambut free style half up. Abstract

A woman and beauty are two inseparable things. The concept of beauty is often seen as a relativity. That is, each person's view of the concept of beauty is different. But at the same time, beauty is also a universal thing. This is because there are standards and criteria that are used as a benchmark to be considered beautiful. Almost all women want to look beautiful all the time. Although every woman's nature is instinctively beautiful, most women try hard to be beautiful. As with students who also want to look beautiful, one of the efforts made is facial skin care. This research aims to find out: 1) the concept of beauty according to students of Surabaya State University 2) the effort of facial skin care according to students of Surabaya State University. This research uses a qualitative approach using descriptive qualitative research methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews. The research subjects were 10 active students of Surabaya State University. The data collection method used was interview. The analysis method uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Based on the results of the data analysis, Based on the results of data analysis, it is found that the concept of beauty is interpreted as something broad and relative. Which means there is no same description for each individual in interpreting the concept of beauty. However, there are aspects that become benchmarks in formulating the concept of beauty, namely the conception of the concept of beauty, beauty criteria, and aspects of beauty types. And based on the data analysis, Based on the results of data analysis, it is found that the concept of facial skin care is understood as part of an effort to look beautiful. The perception of the importance of facial skin care is very diverse and not the same for each individual. However, it can be described into aspects that become the benchmark of understanding and facial skin care efforts made. These aspects are the place of treatment, budget/special funds, beauty products, and treatment motivation. Keywords : Beauty, Care, Facial Skin

Abstract

In the last five years, marble nail art has become a trend that is increasingly in demand by nail art lovers. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of press-on nails with the water marble technique, the results of press-on nails with the marble drawing technique, and a comparison of the results of press-on nails with the water marble and drawing techniques. This study employed a quantitative approach and used an experimental research design. The results of press-on nails with water marble and drawing were assessed using a questionnaire with four aspects: design suitability, surface evenness, neatness of the finished result, and preference. Faux Nail Studio customers who like nail art and are and are and are aged 18 to 30 years were the subjects of this study who came to Faux Nail Studio on February 28, 2025. The data obtained from the questionnaire were processed using IBM SPSS 27. The t-test was used to determine the comparison of the finished results of press-on nails with the water marble and marble drawing techniques, and the average test was used to determine the finished results of each technique. The results of the study showed that (1)he finished results of press-on nails with the water marble technique had an average value of 2.96 out of 4, (2) the finished results of press-on nails with marble drawing had an average value of 3.68 out of 4, and (3) there was a significant difference between the two techniques, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. (3) According to the panelists, the suitability of the design, surface flatness, and neatness of the results were 2.96 for the water marble technique and 3.68 for the marble drawing technique. (4) The panelists preferred the finished results of press-on nails with the marble drawing technique to the water marble technique.

Abstract

Currently, many people use make-up as the main support for their profession, one of which is the product catalog model that makes make-up the main thing, so a perfect appearance is needed and gives a good impression to support the value of the product worn. This study aims to determine the difference in the results of the comparison of the proportion of liquid and cream foundations on the results of make-up on the product catalog model with oily skin types, using 2 samples of foundation proportions with different ratios of liquid and cream foundations. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study with a quasi-experimental design of the one-shot case study type. The subjects of the study were 30 people, consisting of 3 make-up lecturers, 27 make-up experts or active students of make-up education at the State University of Surabaya. The data collection technique used an instrument sheet/questionnaire to assess the results of make-up with indicators of coverage, smoothness, evenness, durability, photo results and observer preferences. The results of the study obtained an average score of aspects that were averaged of 3.2 in sample X1 (proportion of foundation 2gr liquid: 2gr cream) and 3.57 in sample X2 (proportion of foundation 1gr liquid: 3gr cream). The calculation of statistical test results shows a Mann Whitney U value of 213.500 and a significance value (Asymp, Sig. 2-tailed) of less than 0.001 (p < 0.05). So there is a significant difference between sample data X1 and sample data X2 with sample data X2 having a higher score than sample data X1.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to investigate the impact of beauty influencer content on TikTok on increasing knowledge about makeup among students of SMK PGRI 4 Pasuruan and how students' attitudes towards the content. The background of this study is the rapid development of social media as an alternative in the learning process, especially in the field of makeup that is visual and practical. The method used is quantitative by implementing a pre-test and post-test through measuring learning outcomes. The number of subjects in this study was 36 students from the Skin and Hair Beauty study program. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire using a Likert scale and t-test. The research findings show a significant increase in knowledge about makeup after students accessed TikTok content from beauty influencers, as evidenced by the results of the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000. Student responses to beauty influencer content on TikTok vary widely. On the one hand, this social media platform can be a very useful learning tool, encouraging interest in learning and facilitating access, as students can easily access various educational materials and resources through TikTok. It also helps students collaborate on assignments, exchange ideas, provide feedback, and encourage creativity in learning and conveying ideas. Several factors that support knowledge enhancement include the quality of content presentation, trust in the influencer, appropriate video length and format, and the relevance of the material to students' needs. Therefore, content on TikTok can be used as an effective supplementary medium for increasing knowledge about makeup. Various studies have shown that students respond positively to interactive learning media applications, particularly regarding their appearance and ease of use.
