Abstract

Construction projects have been developing from the management side year by year. One of the problems that government has been facing government construction projects over the years is the duration of the procurement process that takes too long which is hard to be implemented if the project is urgent in terms of time. This creates the urgency to seek the solutions to the problem of how to shorten the time of the procurement process. The design and build integrated contract method that unites the planning and implementation process simultaneously is able to answer these problems and shorten the procurement time of government construction projects. However, there are many disputes faced by construction projects that use integrated design contracts postproject, one of which comes from the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) or commonly called the Inspectorate. This is because there are several different standard between the inspectorate and the owner or contractor that has been used in the process of government construction projects Audit. This study aims to identify the standards of the audit process of the Inspectorate, analyze the risks that cause disputes, and to develop standards for risk-based audit methods for design and build-based construction projects in order to minimize disputes that occured from the inspectorate side of perspective.

Abstract

The construction industry has had the highest accident rate worldwide for decades. Identifying risks as early as feasible during the pre-construction or design phase is essential to preventing construction accidents. To generate a structured list of risks, a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is used to identify risks. Although numerous studies have proposed using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to identify risks, no one has analyzed the relationship between Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and risk to reduce construction accidents. Consequently, this study aimed to investigate the impact of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) risk during the design and construction phases on construction safety performance. The analysis of relationships will be conducted using statistical methodologies. The study's findings will demonstrate that Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) risk affects construction safety performance.

Abstract

The Design and Build method have been widely used in government projects in recent years. The construction of a sports stadium is one type of project that uses an integrated contract. Design and build, which is considered to have high complexity and is urgent, so the use of the Design and Build method is expected to provide a solution in the implementation of the project. However, in implementing the integrated design and construction contract, there are still many disputes from stakeholders involved such as Inspection of Work Results. This study aims to identify the factors that cause dispute in the Design and Build project and develop a Standard for Inspection of Work Results from the perspective of Construction Management. The results of the study indicate the factors causing the dominant risk-based dispute as well as corrective action in the form of standard inspection of work results on construction projects.

Abstract

Design-build methods are one of the options in carrying out the construction of high-rise buildings with a high level of uncertainty from design phase to construction, which also affects the safety performance of the project itself. Therefore, a prevention standard for a high-risk event is needed based on project activities. This research was prepared using a descriptive qualitative method with expert validation process through Delphi method and completed with a questionnaire survey to conduct a risk assessment. The output in this research is a development of risk-based standard work breakdown structure for architectural work, which generated from 39 high level risk. Based on the results of the mapping of preventive and corrective actions at high-level risks, 5 types of WBS development can be carried out at levels 3 to 6 of the WBS to prevent and minimize the impact of risk so that safety performance could be improved. The novelty in this research lies in the form of design-build project delivery activities which has not been widely discussed in previous work breakdown structure research and risk identification based on the activities listed on the WBS.
