Abstract

VNOS form B is an instrument that has been developed and revised to assess the view of nature of science of preservice science teachers through nature of science aspects.Indeed, students and teachers have to have the view of nature of science to avoid misconceptions of science concepts. Unfortunately, research on the view of Nature of Science is less conducted in Indonesia. This is a qualitative research that was conducted in Borneo University Tarakan. Respondents are preservice biology teachers in the sixth semester. The first step of this research is translating and adapting the VNOS form B into Bahasa Indonesia to make sure that the instrument is culturally fit to Indonesian and the transadapted instrument then given to the respondents. The result shows that the VNOS form B can be applied to assess the view of nature of science of preservice biology teachers. However, the result also shows that most of preservice biology teachers have few understanding on aspects of nature of scince.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang kecenderungan mengajar oleh mahasiswa calon guru di jurusan pendidikan Biologi, Universitas Borneo Tarakan dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kecenderungan para calon guru biologi memilih pendekatan atau metode yang digunakan untuk mengajar sains khususnya biologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan kuesioner berupa angket yang berisi tentang soal-soal yang berkaitan dengan pengajaran sains di tingkat sekolah menengah pertama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak enam soal dari delapan soal yang diberikan di kuesioner dijawab oleh responden dengan memilih orientasi mengajar yang mengarah pada pembelajaran langsung atau Direct Instruction, baik itu yang murni Direct maupun yang aktif. Sementara dua soal lainnya sebagian besar responden menjawab diajarkan dengan menggunakan metode inkuiri, baik itu yang terbimbing maupun yang tidak terbimbing. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan pedagogi calon guru yang berada di semester I masih belum luas sehingga pembelajaran yang bersifat teacher centered masih menjadi pilihan utama.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pantai Amal Baru merupakan salah satu pantai di Kota Tarakan. Pantai ini berada di Kecamatan Tarakan Timur, Provinsi Kalimantan Utara.Pantai Amal Baru umumnya akan ramai pada beberapa even atau waktu hari libur. Banyaknya kunjungan berdampak pada pencemaran wilayah tersebut. Pencemaran pantai juga terjadi karena aktifitas nelayan yang ada di daerah pantai baik sampah hasil tangkapan ikan, maupun sampah budidaya rumput laut. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dilakukan pemberdayaan mahasiswa dalam pembersihan sampah di Pantai Amal Baru. Metode pelaksanaan bersih pantai Amal Baru yang dilakukan adalah berupa shore cleanup. Berdasarkan kegiatan pembersihan pantai, didapatkan hasil sampah plastik sebanyak 50%, kaleng 25%, sisa tumbuhan 20% dan lain-lain (gelas/botol gelas, besi, dan lain-lain) sebanyak 5%Abstrak: Amal Baru Beach is one of the beaches in Tarakan City. This beach is located in Tarakan Timur District, North Kalimantan Province. Amal Baru Beach will generally be crowded on some events or holiday. Because of tha things make a pollution in this beach. Coastal pollution also occurs due to the activities of fishermen in the coastal areas both fish catches, and seaweed farming waste. Based on the above, student empowerment is important to waste cleaning in Amal Baru Beach. The method of beach cleaning is based shore cleanup. Based on coastal cleaning activities, waste type in this beach, is:  50% plastic waste, 25% cans, 20%  plant remain and 5% others (glass / bottle of glass, iron, etc.).

Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan zaman dan teknologi menuntut manusia untuk selalu berkembang, begitu juga dengan dunia pendidikan. Sebagai akibat dari perkembangan tersebut maka kebijakan – kebijakan pendidikan pun terus mengalami perubahan. Salah satunya adalah dengan diterapkannya kurikulum baru yaitu kurikulum 2013. Kurikulum ini memberikan wacana untuk memperkenalkan siswa – siswi sekolah dasar dalam berfikir secara ilmiah sejak dini yaitu melalui suatu metode yang disebut dengan pendekatan saintifik. Namun, belum banyak guru sekolah dasar yang mengetahui tentang berfikir secara ilmiah atau saintifik. Oleh karena itu pelatihan tentang penerapan strategi pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik dilaksanakan supaya para guru sekolah dasar memiliki wawasan tentang pendekatan saintifik sehingga mereka menjadi guru – guru yang profesional.Abstract: The development of era, science, and techology requires the society to develop as well, and so do the education. As the result of those developments, there are many new policies especially in educations that have been changed and renewed. One of the new policies is the implementation of a new curriculum called as curriculum 2013. This new curriculum provides a new discourse in introducing students especially elementary school students with scientific thinking in their early age through a method called as a scientific approach. However, there are many elementary school teachers who experience lack of information about scientific thinking and how to teach student scientifically. Therefore a training on the implementation of teaching strategy with scientific approach is important for teachers in order to give information and improve teachers’ profesionalism.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the writing strategy of the second semester students of University Muhammadiyah of Purwokerto in the academic year 2015/2016. The method was qualitative descriptive. There were 57 students of the second semester  students as the subject of the research. However, the data collection was collected through questionaire. The result was likely about the percentage from the questionaire. In preparation step, 49% respondents admitted that they use cognitive strategy, they looked for the information they wanted to write and also collected some vocabularies before writing. In the second item, there were 60% respondents who have social strategy. Therefore, if they have problem in their writing, they will ask their friends. Cognitive strategy is also used by 67% respondents, it happened when the students said that grammar was the part from their writing in which it was the most often to be corrected. Moreover, cognitive strategy again was used by 84% and 54% when they did not know about grammar and word from their writing, they would open grammar book and dictionary. The last, there were 46% respondents had cognitive and social strategy, that was about to use internet or social media as the additional source outside class.    Keywords: writing strategy, cognitive, metacognitive, social

Abstract

Coronary heart disease is a narrowing of blood vessels due to arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis. Noninvasive intervention to open and widen blood vessels is Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). Pain and hematoma is the most common microvascular complication following PCI.  One of the measures to reduce pain is by applying cold compress on the affected area. This study aims to determine the affect of cold compress on the  pain and hematoma reduction in post PCI patients. The method used in this study is literature review. Articles in this study is obtained from PubMed, Science Direct, Wiley, ProQuest and Springer Link database  from 2016 to 2021 by using “Percutaneous Coronary Intervention” or “ balloon angioplasty” or “Cardiac Catheterization” and “Application of cold” “Cold Compress” or “Ice bag” or “Ice pack” and “Pain” and “Hematoma”  as key words. The searching for the articles was based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria and followed by review. This study found five articles that were included in the analysis for a literature review. These articles describe the effectiveness of cold compress application on post PCI patients by means of its physiological effects such as blood vessels vasoconstriction, slowing tissue metabolism, increased blood viscosity and local anesthetic. The conclusion of the study is that cold compress proved to be effective in reducing pain and hematoma in post PCI patients.

Abstract

Media pemeblajaran merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Dimana media sangat membantu proses pembelajaran akan semakin efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan media Canva dan Quick Response Code pada pembelajaran dan bagaimana efektivitas penggunaan media Canva dan Quick Response Code pada pembelajaran. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada Mata Kuliah Materi dan Pembelajaran Fiqih Madrasah Program Studi PAI IAIN Curup angkatan 2020. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Peneliti memaparkan apa adanya terkait dengan efektivitas penggunaan media Canva dan Quick Response Code pada Mata Kuliah Materi dan Pembelajaran Fiqih Madrasah. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Prodi PAI lokal E Angakatan 2020. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi partisipan, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data berupa reduksi data, display data dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan; Pertama pengunaan media Canva dan Quick Response Code pada Mata Kuliah Materi dan Pembelajaran Fikih Madrsah di gunakan selama satu semester dan bergantian dengan penggunaan media yang lainya, untuk awal-awal mahasiswa cukup bingung dalam pengunaanya, tetapi dengan peran dosen yang baik seiring dengan berjalanya waktu mahasiswa terbiasa dan bisa menggunakan media Canva dan Quick Response Code ini dengan baik. Kedua, efektivitas penggunaan media Canva dan Quick Response Code pada Mata Kuliah Materii dan Pembelajaran Fiqih Madrasah sangat efektif di gunakan, indikasinya mahasiswa termotivasi mengikuti pembelajaran, mahasiswa mudah memahami materi,pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik dan suasana kelas menjadi kondusif.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi strategi efektif dalam membangun generasi yang peduli terhadap lingkungan melalui implementasi pendidikan lingkungan di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada beberapa sekolah dasar dan menengah di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis dokumen kurikulum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi pendidikan lingkungan dalam kurikulum formal dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kesadaran dan kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan. Pendekatan pembelajaran yang interaktif, seperti proyek berbasis lingkungan, kegiatan lapangan, dan kolaborasi dengan komunitas lokal, terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterlibatan siswa. Selain itu, dukungan dari guru, orang tua, dan pihak sekolah juga merupakan faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan implementasi pendidikan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menyarankan perlunya pelatihan berkelanjutan bagi guru dan penyediaan sumber daya yang memadai untuk mendukung program pendidikan lingkungan. Dengan mengadopsi strategi yang tepat dan melibatkan seluruh pihak terkait, sekolah dapat memainkan peran sentral dalam membangun generasi muda yang lebih peduli dan bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan yang berorientasi pada keberlanjutan dan pelestarian lingkungan di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' science literacy skills at SMA Hang Tuah Tarakan. The study was motivated by the observed low levels of science literacy among students, attributed to a lack of exposure to tasks that require in-depth reasoning and critical thinking. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi- experimental method, the study utilized a non-equivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of all tenth-grade students at SMA Hang Tuah Tarakan, with purposive sampling used to select two groups: class X-A and class X-C, comprising a total of 52 students. Data on science literacy were collected through a multiple-choice test instrument. Data analysis included prerequisite testing (normality and homogeneity tests), hypothesis testing, and N- Gain testing to measure improvement. The hypothesis was tested using an Independent Sample T-Test, which revealed a significant difference in science literacy skills between the experimental and control groups, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.020, which was less than the significance level of  = 0.05. These findings demonstrated that the application of the PjBL model had a positive effect on enhancing students' science literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ active participation in learning Hortatory Exposition Text through the implementation of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) in class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Palu. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using Kemmis and McTaggart’s model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stages. The research instrument was an observation sheet containing five indicators of active participation, adapted from Suryosubroto and Sudjana. The results showed a significant increase in student participation from the pre-cycle (25%), cycle I (55%), to cycle II (85%). The findings indicate that CRT effectively creates contextual and empowering English learning by linking materials to students’ local culture. This study concludes that CRT can be an alternative strategy for English teachers to enhance students’ active participation and learning motivation.
