Abstract

Kolaka Regency is an area that is the center of pond fishery production, including vannamei shrimp commodities. Some sub-districts in southern Kolaka that are the center of vannamei shrimp production are Pomalaa District, Tanggetada District and Watubangga District. As one of the fishery commodities with an export orientation, shrimp commodities are very vulnerable to price fluctuations. Apart from demand and supply factors, the price of production inputs can also affect the price of vannamei shrimp commodities indirectly, where when the price of production inputs increases, the amount of production will tend to decrease. The decrease in the amount of production will eventually have an impact on increasing the price of vannamei shrimp in the market as a result of a decrease in supply in the market. The purpose of this study is to determine the fluctuations in the price of vannamei shrimp in the South Kolaka area in 2017 – 2021 and to find out the price trend of vannamei shrimp in the South Kolaka area in 2017 – 2021. Data analysis performed using Two Stage Linear Square (2SLS) analysis. The results showed that shrimp prices in Kolaka Regency are very volatile. The price fluctuative is caused by the unstable amount of production in the market, where shrimp prices will tend to increase when the amount of production produced is smaller than market demand and it is known that the results of price trend analysis show that in the last 5 years (2017 to 2021), The price of vanname shrimp in Kolaka Regency continues to increase, where the price increase in the last 5 years is Rp 2,500 per kg.

Abstract

Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency is an area that has potential marine fisheries resources. One fishery product that has potential is seagrass fish of the Katamba type (Lethrinus lentjan). Koperasi Produsen Pesisir Nelayan Sejahtera is one of the partners involved in fish processing. The main problem for members is the low level of knowledge and skills of the members of the Partners in the processing of fishery products. One of the fish processing products carried out is the production of fish floss. Fish threading is one of the fish processing activities that can increase the added value and shelf life of fish. The objective of this community service activity is to improve the skills and knowledge of the members of the Koperasi Produsen Pesisir Nelayan Sejahtera in processing fish independently to obtain a product, namely fish floss. This community service activity will be carried out in August 2023 in Anaiwoi Village, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency. The activity method is carried out in several stages, including observation stage, preparation stage, training stage, mentoring and evaluation. The result of this community service activity is an increase in the skills and knowledge of partners in making Katamba fish floss. Based on the results of the interview, the partner's skill level became 90% and the knowledge level increased 100% after training. Partners are able to make fish floss according to the materials and guidebook provided. Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi province, as one of the cocoa baskets and the center of the National Cocoa Movement (GERNAS), continues to experience a decline in cocoa production and land area. One factor is the widespread conversion of cocoa land. This phenomenon needs to be highlighted and studied further because it can affect the sustainability of the cocoa value chain in Southeast Sulawesi. This study aims to determine what factors influence cocoa farmers in converting cocoa farmland to other farms in Southeast Sulawesi Province's two leading cocoa-producing districts. The research sites were purposely selected because they are the two leading cocoa-producing districts in the province. This study used logistic regression analysis. Cocoa farmers in Kolaka district converted cocoa land to patchouli farming, while cocoa farmers in East Kolaka district converted their cocoa land to rice farming. The analysis results show that the main factors that significantly influence cocoa farmers' decision to convert cocoa land are cocoa farming experience and the price of other commodities (including the level of income farmers receive from farming other commodities). The primary policy that the government can take in maintaining cocoa land area is to provide price certainty for cocoa itself. So far, cocoa farmers have always faced price uncertainty, and cocoa's value chain and sustainability in Southeast Sulawesi Province need to be clarified.
