Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the factors influencing cocoa production and income farmers receive from the cocoa revitalization program in Pakue Tengah district, Kolaka North regency. This study was conducted in Pakue Tengah District, Kolaka North Regency, from January to April 2025. The number of participants in this study was determined using the Slovin formula. Data analysis used Cobb-Douglas function analysis to determine the influence of production factors (land area, number of stands, labor, fertilizers and pesticides) on cocoa production and to conduct income analysis. The results of the study show that the coefficient of determination (R2) indicates the magnitude of influence of the variables land area (X1), number of stands (X2), labor (X3), fertilizers (X4) and pesticides (X5) on the dependent variable production (Y) is 0.849. This number is converted into a percentage, which means that the percentage contribution of the influence of the independent variables (land area, number of stands, labor, fertilizers, pesticides) on the dependent variable (production) is 84.9%, while the remaining 15.1% means that there are other factors affecting cocoa production that are not included in the research parameters. The results of the analysis of production factors influencing cocoa production in Pakue Tengah district show that the independent variables (land area, number of stands, labor, fertilizers, and pesticides) have a partially significant influence on the dependent variable (production). Only two variables, namely the number of stands and labor, have a significant impact on cocoa production in Pakue Tengah district, Kolaka North regency. The average income of cocoa farmers in Pakue Tengah district, Kolaka North regency, is IDR 11,207,569.56.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to see the development of cocoa competitiveness and its determining factors in the Southeast Sulawesi trade. The data used in the study were collected from several institutions, namely Central Statistics Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO), in the form of time series data from 2011-2022. The research methodology applied the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) for determining the development of cocoa competitiveness and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis for the determinants of cocoa trade. The results of the analysis show that Southeast Sulawesi's superior cocoa commodity has competitiveness. The RCA value can be seen from 2011 to 2018 and is still quite good. It is proven that the average RCA is above 4, although in the following year the RCA value shows a decreasing trend until 2022. Moreover, the determining factors for the competitiveness of Southeast Sulawesi’s cocoa are land area, production factors, domestic prices and international prices. Only the domestic price variable partially has a notable effect on its competitiveness. This research can be made a reference for the local government to adopt any policies regarding the export of cocoa beans and processed products so that it can encourage and increase the competitiveness of Southeast Sulawesi cocoa through implementing downstreaming, improving infrastructure and national cocoa research and development.

Abstract

The potential of Indonesian fisheries cultivation is very promising with an economic value of USD 250 billion per year. One of the fishery commodities that is in demand by both domestic and foreign markets is tilapia. Tilapia is in demand by the community with increasing production and demand trends. Market opportunities are increasingly open, triggering the growth of tilapia fish businesses to develop both breeding, rearing and marketing. The purpose of the study is to analyze the business prospects of the Lalonggolosua Nila Farm fish seed business and to analyze the feasibility of the Lalonggolosua Nila Farm fish seed business in Kolaka Regency. The methods and approaches used are survey research and case studies. To answer the first objective related to business prospects, the IFAS Matrix and the IFAS Matrix Matrix are used. While the second problem related to business feasibility, income analysis, B/C ratio and R/C ratio are used. Research Results: The potential of Lalonggosua Nila Farm is a production of 120,000 per year, increasing to 600,000 per year if an investment is made to add 10 ponds. The projected profit per head is IDR 50-100. The potential for tilapia fish farming reaches 50 ha, especially in Lalonggolosua Village and the potential for marketing tilapia. Lalonggosua Tilapia Farm's income per year reaches Rp. 29,089,500 and this business is feasible with a business feasibility value of B/C ratio 1.167 and R/C ratio 2.167.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine the differences in the amount of labor costs, farm costs and income of paddy fields with Combine Harvester and Power Thresher harvesting technology in Lamedai Village, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency. The method of taking the number of samples by proportionate Stratified Random Sampling method and for the determination of the type of sample by Simple Random Sampling method as many as 52 samples. Each farmer who did farming with Combine Harvester harvesting technology as many as 29 samples and Power Thresher as many as 23 samples. The method of data analysis used in this study is the analysis of different test model independent sampleT-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in total farming costs and rice revenues with Combine Harvester and Power Thresher harvesting technology in Lamedai Village, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency. The results showed that there is a real difference in income received by farmers who use power trasher machine with combine harvester. However, both still provide benefits and deserve to continue their business because the value of RC and BC ratio is positive. The suggestion that can be recommended is that farmers can be more familiar with the combine harvester machine so that the productivity of rice land is higher which also affects the income received by farmers.
