Abstract

Studi analisis vegetasi, estimasi biomasa dan stok karbon ekosistem mangrove sangat penting dilakukan untuk menentukan kondisi ekosistem dan kemampuan ekosistem mangrove dalam menyerap karbon dan menyimpannya ke dalam biomassanya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi vegetasi mangrove, persentase tutupan vegetasi, status biomassa permukaan (AGB), serta potensi stok karbon yang tersimpan di vegetasi mangrove di pesisir Kecamatan Latambaga, Kabupaten Kolaka. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Agustus 2019. Metode penelitian menggunakan transek kuadrat untuk menghitung kerapatan mangrove, selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan metode Hemispherichal Photography untuk mengukur persentase penutupan vegetasi mangrove berbasis pemisahan antara pixel langit dan pixel vegetasi. Data AGB dihitung berdasarkan data diameter batang mangrove (Diameter at Breast Heigh/DBH) dan persamaan allometrik dari setiap spesies. Data stok karbon dihitung dengan menggunakan konstanta karbon dari bahan organik dan data biomassa (AGB). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, kerapatan mangrove tertinggi secara berturut-turut terdapat di stasiun 2 (5299,99 ind/ha2), stasiun 1 (3466,66 ind/ha2),  dan stasiun 3 (3066,66 ind/ha2). Persentase tutupan mangrove berbasis pixel kanopi  menunjukkan hasil yang sama dengan kerapatan mangrove, dimana persentase tutupan mangrove tertinggi terdapat di stasiun 2 (84,0716%), stasiun 1 (81,5368%), dan stasiun 3 (80,9978%). Ekosistem mangrove yang ada lokasi tersebut dalam kondisi baik dengan kerapatan  dan persentase tutupan yang cukup tinggi. Komposisi penyusun vegetasi mangrove yang ada di Kecamatan Latambaga didominasi oleh mangrove jenis Rhizophora apiculata dan Rhizophora mucronata dengan kelas pertumbuhan sapihan (DBH < 10cm)  dan tiang (DBH < 20 cm). Meskipun dalam kondisi yang baik, ekosistem mangrove di pesisir Kecamatan Latambaga mengalami ancaman alih fungsi lahan menjadi tambak. Total AGB tertinggidi stasiun 1 (226,76 ton/ha), diikuti oleh stasiun 3 (181,47 ton/ha), dan stasiun 2 (76,06 ton/ha). Stok karbon berbanding lurus dengan data AGB. Total stok karbon tertinggi juga terdapat pada stasiun 1 (106,57 ton/ha), diikuti oleh stasiun  3 (85,29 ton/ha), dan stasiun 2 (35,75 ton/ha).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan peran Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Warga Makmur bagi nelayan di Desa Mootawa Kecamatan Bone Raya Kabupaten Bone Bolango Provinsi Gorontalo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pemilihan sampel/ responden dilakukan dengan pengambilan para pengurus koperasi secara sengaja (judgement sampling) dan anggota Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Warga Makmur yang berprofesi sebagai nelayan. Pengumpulan data dengan pengamatan/observasi, wawancara langsung kepada nelayan responden dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peran Koperasi Simpan Pinjam bagi nelayan di Desa Mootawa Kecamatan Bone Raya Kabupaten Bone Bolango Provinsi Gorontalo, yaitu: membantu keperluan/ kebutuhan hidup nelayan melalui pinjaman dengan syarat-syarat yang mudah dan angsuran yang cukup ringan bagi nelayan. Sejauh ini, koperasi belum pernah menyelenggarakan kegiatan pendidikan/ pelatihan khusus untuk mendidik dan menambah pengetahuan anggota tentang perkoperasian, permodalan dan lain-lain. Koperasi juga belum pernah terlibat langsung dalam kegiatan-kegiatan sosial di masyarakat nelayan sekitar.

Abstract

Kerang Abalone termasuk dalam Famili Haliotidae juga dikenal dengan sebutan kerang mata tujuh, mempunyai kandungan nutrisi yang cukup tinggi.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan nutrisi selama pengolahan abalon (H.asinina) kering. Kerang Abalon yang digunakan yaitu abalon berukuran 7 cm yang diperoleh dari Pulau Saponda Kabupaten Konawe, Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara.  Rangkaian pengolahan abalon kering dimulai dari pembersihan abalon segar dengan memisahkan cangkang dari dagingnya, penggaraman selama  ±12 jam, pengukusan selama ± 30 menit hingga pengeringan oven selama  ±2-3 hari.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  berat daging  abalon segar yang dapat dikonsumsi seberat 4.586,00 g atau sebesar 45,86% dan  yang tidak dapat dikonsumsi seberat 5414,12 g atau sekitar 54,14% berupa cangkang 7,88% dan organ visera 46,25%. Kandungan air yang terus mengalami penurunan mulai dari abalon segar, setelah penggaraman, setelah pengukusan hingga kering masing-masing 83,9%; 76,14%; 71,90% dan 28,47%, diikuti oleh kadar lemak masing-masing 7,86%; 2,87%; 2,12% dan 1,71%. Sementara, proporsi kandungan protein terus mengalami peningkatan masing-masing 11,22%; 16,90%; 20,65% dan 42,38%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kandungan nutrisi Abalon semakin meningkat setelah melalui proses pengolahan.   Abalone shells are included in Haliotidae family, also known as seven eye shells, have a fairly high nutritional content. This study aims to determine the nutritional content during the processing of dried abalone (H. asinina). The abalone shells used were abalone measuring 7 cm which was obtained from Saponda Island, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The series of dried abalone processing starts from cleaning fresh abalone by separating the shell from the meat, salting for ± 12 hours, steaming for ± 30 minutes to oven drying for ± 2-3 days. The results showed that the weight of fresh abalone meat that could be consumed was 4.586,00 g or 45.86% and the uneaten weight was 5414.12 g or about 54.14% in the form of shell 7.88% and visceral organs 46.25. %. The water content which continued to decrease starting from fresh abalone, after salting, after steaming to drying was 83.9% respectively; 76.14%; 71.90% and 28.47%, followed by fat content of 7.86%, respectively; 2.87%; 2.12% and 1.71%. Meanwhile, the proportion of protein content continued to increase by 11.22% respectively; 16.90%; 20.65% and 42.38%. Based on the results of the study, the nutritional content of abalone increased after going through the processing process.

Abstract

This study aimed to establish an allometric model for estimation of aboveground biomass, and carbon sequestration in A. lanata mangrove forest growing in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Research methods were done by transect and 5 quadrats with size of 100 m2 each. A total of thirteen individual trees with different sizes were harvested. While DBH and D30 were measured. The samples were separated into stems, branches, and leaves and then weighted. The sample from each fresh organs were taken and brought to the Laboratory and then oven dried at 80°C for 7 days. The allometric equations were established by using independent variables (DBH and D30), and dependent variables (Ws, Wb, Wl). The partial and overall aboveground biomasses were calculated from allometric model, while carbon stock and CO2 sequestration were estimated. The results showed that the independent variable of DBH was more applicable for estimation of Ws, Wb, Wl, and total biomasses (Mg ha-1) of A. lanata forest, which were estimated as 28.28±3.48, 6.40±0.79, 5.00±0.66, and 40.08±4.97 respectively. The carbon stock in stems (13.24±1.63 Mg ha-1) was higher than in branches (3.01±0.37 Mg C ha-1) as well as in leaves (2.35±0.31 Mg C ha-1). The total of carbon stock were estimated at about 18.83±2.33 Mg C ha-1. Meanwhile, the total of CO2 absorption by A. lanata mangrove was 43.95±5.45 Mg CO2 ha-1. Therefore a regenerated A. lanata mangrove in this in-active pond area had potentiality on carbon stock and sequestrations, although these vegetation condition was still in the growth stage.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the structure and composition of natural regenerated mangrove, also  to analyze these soil C and N content. This study was conducted in natural regenerated mangrove at in-active pond in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi on June-August 2021. The data collection of mangrove vegetation by quadratic transect method, prependicuar to the river, with 6 subplots sized 100m2. Species identification according to  Panduan Pengenalan Mangrove Indonesia, by Noor YR et al. 2006. Meanwhile, the methods for sediment collection was done by purposive sampling to determine corring site. The sediment was collected by Peat Auger Set for 50 cm of depth. The sediment sample then separated based on depth i.e. 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm, 20-30 cm, 30-40 cm, and 40-50 cm. The samples were dried with temperature 65oC during 10 days. The C and N content were analyzed by Spectrofotometer. Moreover, water content as well as bulk density was determined.  The statistical analysis of One Way-Anova was done to determine the differences of bulk density, water, C, and N content on each soil layer.The result showed that the structure and composition of mangrove which found in this location was weaning mangrove (DBH < 10cm). The class of DBH size was dominated by 3,00cm - 3,99 cm (81 ind), 2,00cm – 2,99cm (62 ind), 4,00cm – 4,99cm (52 ind), 5,00cm – 5,99cm (42 ind), 7,00cm – 7,99cm (32 ind), and 6,00cm – 6,99cm (26 ind) respectively. The class of DBH size of 8,00 and 9,00 were found in small amount. The total density of vegetation was categoryzed into high density category, based on Kepmen LH No 201, year 2004 (5183,33 ind/ha). The vegetation formed into the early growing stage. The result of water content, and bulk density showed various results. The highest water content was on the surface layer of soil (0-10 cm) was 35,39±8,61%.Meanwhile, the highest bulk density was on the 20-30 cm of soil layer, was 1,49±0,29 g/cm3. The result of C and N content showed various results on each soil layer. The highest of C content was on the surface layer (0-10 cm), was 2,13±0,76%, and the lowest was on 30-40 cm of soil layer, was 1,72±0,13%. In the other hand, the highest N content was on 40-50 of soil layer, was 0,82±0,29%, and the lowest was on 30-40 cm of soil layer, was 0,57±0,14%. Although there were difference of water content, bulk density, C, and N content on each soil layer, but these differences was not significant statistically (α > 0,05). Commonly, the A. lanata species was dominated in this in-active pond area. It was caused by  the environmental condition was enclosed because of soil bund wall of pond, so it is confined to another species to regenerate naturally in this area.  Furthermore, the structure of A. lanata seeds which have small size facilitates its spread by the current, thus providing a opportunity for seeds spreaded, growth and regenerated naturallyKey word: A. lanata, natural regeneration, C sedimen, N content

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to know the bioaccumulation and translocation of heavy metal mercury (Hg) and cadmium (Cd) on mangrove Rhizophora spp grown in Rawa Aopa Watumohai National Park. The heavy metals content of Hg and Cd in vegetative organs of R.mucronata, R.apiculata and R.stylosa were analyzed by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry AAS, while their translocation factor (TF) in mangrove organs were elucidated. The results showed that heavy metal bioaccumulation in mangrove organs varied among mangroves. Heavy metals contents in organs of mangrove Rhizophora mucronata were estimated as 0.492 μg/g for Cd and of 0.085 μg/g for Hg. On the other hand, those of metals contents in R. Apiculata were 4.67 μg/g for Cd and 0.414 μg/g for Hg. Meanwhile heavy metals contents in R. stylosa were 0.796 μg/g for Cd metal and 0.084 μg/g for Hg metal. However, the mangroves of R. mucronata and R. apiculata seemed to ineffective on translocation of mercury metal in their organs as of the values of TF among organs were < 1, while the mangrove R. stylosa seemed to more effective on translocation of Hg and Cd heavy metals in its organs (TF > 1.0). Therefore, each mangrove has different ability to accumulate heavy metals in its organs. Abstract

Fauna bentik (makrozoobentos) telah dianggap sebagai salah satu kriteria untuk menilai keberhasilan program restorasi mangrove. Kajian korelasi karakteristik lingkungan terhadap makrozoobentos di kawasan reboisasi mangrove Kepulauan Seribu telah dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2014. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang diakibatkan oleh karakteristik lingkungan (parameter fisika kimia perairan) terhadap kepadatan makrozoobentosnya. Data biota makrozoobentos di kawasan reboisasi mangrove Kepulauan seribu dikumpulkan dengan membuat transek garis dan plot yang ditarik dari titik acuan (tegakan mangrove terluar) dan tegak lurus garis pantai sampai ke daratan, dimana pengamatan dilakukan di tiga stasiun (pulau). Sebanyak 6 famili dan 6 spesies makrozoobentos telah ditemukan di kawasan reboisasi mangrove Kepulauan Seribu. Komposisi dan kepadatan spesies tertingginya adalah Littoraria scabra. Karakteristik lingkungan yang diukur tidak begitu berbeda antar stasiun serta juga tidak melebihi ambang batas baku mutu. Semakin rendah konsentrasi salinitas dan DO, maka kepadatan makrozoobentosnya semakin tinggi, sedangkan semakin tinggi konsentrasi pH perairan, maka kepadatan makrozoobentosnya semakin menurun. Kemudian parameter suhu dengan kepadatan makrozoobentos tidak memiliki pengaruh.THE EFFECT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MAKROZOOBENTOS IN MANGROVE REFORESTATION AREA OF SERIBU ISLANDS, INDONESIA. Benthic fauna (macrozoobenthos) has been considered as one of the criteria for assessing the success of a mangrove restoration program. A correlation study of environmental characteristics of macrozoobenthos in the Seribu Islands mangrove reforestation area was carried out in March 2014. It aims to determine the effect caused by environmental characteristics (water physical-chemical parameters) on its macrozoobenthos density. Data of macrozoobenthos biota in the Seribu Islands mangrove reforestation area were collected by making line transects and plots drawn from the reference point (outermost mangrove stands) and perpendicular to the coastline to the mainland, where observations were made at three stations (islands). Six families and six macrozoobenthos species have been found in the Seribu Islands mangrove reforestation area. The composition and density of the highest species were Littoraria scabra. The measured environmental characteristics were not very different between stations and also did not exceed the quality standard threshold. The lower the salinity and DO concentration, the higher the density of macrozoobenthos, while the higher the concentration of water pH, the lower the density of macrozoobenthos. Then the temperature parameters with macrozoobenthos density had no effect.

Abstract

Ekosistem mangrove merupakan sumberdaya alam hayati yang memiliki manfaat aspek ekologi yaitu sebagai tempat hidup beragam jenis biota perairan. Salah satu jenis biota ekonomis penting yang hidup di daerah mangrove yaitu komunitas ikan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2012 (musim barat). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji komposisi jenis juvenil ikan di perairan ekosistem mangrove Pulau Parang Kepulauan Karimunjawa. Juvenil ikan dikoleksi dengan jaring angkat (lift net), jaring lempar ukuran mata jaring 2 inchi, alat pancing serta serok (seser) ikan. Komposisi jenis juvenil ikan di perairan ekosistem mangrove Pulau Parang yang dikoleksi pada musim barat yaitu berjumlah 10 jenis dari 9 genus dan 9 famili. Lutjanidae merupakan famili ikan yang memiliki nilai ekonomis penting. Nilai keanekaragaman jenis pada ketiga lokasi menunjukkan sebaran yang relatif merata, dimana penyebaran individu tiap jenis relatif seragam dan tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi. Indeks keanekaragaman (H) jenis juvenil ikan berkisar antara 1,252 – 1,328; indeks keseragaman (E) berkisar antara 0,668 – 0,825dan indeks dominansi (C)berkisar antara 0,292 – 0,355.

Abstract

This research is to identify and mapping some parameters of oceanography that suitable for lobster aquaculture activities with floating net cage systems and produce recommendations of a spatial map of the feasibility of floating net cage lobster farming. This research was conducted in July 2021 located in the coastal area of Kolaka. The oceanography data was collected from 58 stations and analyzed by Arc GIS 10 software. To produce a map of land suitability, the data was analyzed by interpolation and spatial clasification method before being overlaid in every oceanography parameter to be scored based on a suitability matrix. Regarding the land suitability map, it exhibited that the width of the Kolaka coastal area which is suitable for lobster farming with the floating net cage system was 7.973 Ha. Meanwhile, 9.519 Ha coastal area was not suitable.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran KoperasiSimpan Pinjam bagi nelayan di Desa Mootawa Kecamatan Bone Raya Kabupaten BoneBolango Provinsi Gorontalo, yaitu: membantu keperluan/ kebutuhan hidup nelayan melaluipinjaman dengan syarat-syarat yang mudah dan angsuran yang cukup ringan bagi nelayan.Sejauh ini, koperasi belum pernah menyelenggarakan kegiatan pendidikan/ pelatihan khususuntuk mendidik dan menambah pengetahuan anggota tentang perkoperasian, permodalan dan lain-lain. Koperasi juga belum pernah terlibat langsung dalam kegiatan-kegiatan sosial dimasyarakat nelayan sekitar.
