Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis optimum ekstrak daun senggani dalam menghasilkan persentase jantan tertinggi pada ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Penelitian didesain menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap yang teridiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diujikan yakni dosis ekstrak daun senggani; 0 (A/kontrol); 20 (B); 40 (C); 60 (D); 80 ppm (E). Larva ikan nila umur 7 hari direndam dalam air yang berisi ekstrak daun senggani sesuai dosis perlakuan selama 4 jam. Pasca perendaman, larva ikan nila dipelihara selama 60 hari. Pakan berupa cacing sutera diberikan selama 30 hari pertama dan selebihnya diberi pellet. Frekuensi pemberian pakan sebanyak 3 kali sehari (pukul 07.30-08.00, 12.30-13.00, dan 17.30-18.00 Wita). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase kelamin jantan (KJ) pada perlakuan A, B, C, D, dan E secara berurut masing-masing sebesar 45%, 65%, 72%, 77,5%, dan 80%. Laju pertumbuhan harian (LPH) dan kelangsungan hidup (KH) untuk semua perlakuan berkisar antara 7,28-7,58 %/hari dan 85-95%. Hasil analisis menunjukkan persentase KJ ikan nila tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan 80 ppm yakni sebesar 80%. LPH dan KH tidak berbeda secara signifikan antar semua perlakuan (P>0,05). Kesimpulan, ekstrak daun senggani (M. candidum) dengan dosis 80 ppm menghasilkan persentase jantan tertinggi (80%) pada ikan nila.

Abstract

Seaweed farming development received support from local government with “Gema Biru Sulawesi Tengah” which makes seaweed commodities became the competitive commodity across sectors in the region. Nowadays, the demand of the dried seaweeds as well as semi-finished products (semi-finished carrageenan) tends to be increased rapidly because they are classified as healthy food. On the other hand, the farmer in the district of Bangkep relatively still being traditional by planting in the territorial which estimated suitable for seaweed. The Study aims to identify the water potential of seaweed farming and to analyze the economic variables that affecting the production of seaweed based on its deployment area. This research is conducted in Bangkep in 4sub-districts area i.e. Bulagisub-district (Peling Peasa, Bulagi and Kambal village), South Bulagi District (Bulagi, Palabatu, and Lolantang village), South Tingkung district (Tinangkung, Bobu and Gangsal village) and Liang district (Apal, binatuli and Liang village). The determination of locations is done purposively with 56 respondents. The data Analysis used are suitability analysis with water measurement and testing of water sample as well as regression analysis. The research shows that the locations of the farms have water quality which suitable with the seaweed, which shown by the result of the physical-chemical measurement parameters that meet with the growing requirements in the range of achievement 74.00-82.67%. Economic aspects show the average income of the seaweed farmers are Rp. 1.614.434. Further variables simultaneously independent (age, education, number of dependents, experience, the amount of expanses, and prices) that affect the production of seaweed, while partially only age, experience, amount of expanses, and prices significantly affect the production on the t value of each are 2.57; 3.69; 2.49; and 2.33.

Abstract

Pakan mandiri berbahan baku lokal menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi harga pakan dikalangan petani lokal. Hingga saat ini tepung ikan menjadi bahan utama sebagai sumber protein dalam pembuatan pakan. Selain sulit untuk didapatkan, harga tepung ikan juga semakin meningkat. Pemanfaatan hasil samping pengolahan ikan patin dalam bentuk tepung diharapkan dapat menekan penggunaan tepung ikan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung hasil samping pengolahan ikan patin sebagai pensubstitusi tepung ikan terhadap pertumbuhan ikan nila. Benih ikan nila (bobot 1,81±0,04 g) diperoleh dari Balai Benih Ikan Sentral Tulo, Kabupaten Sigi, Sulawesi Tengah. Perlakuan yang diujikan yakni penggunaan tepung hasil samping pengolahan ikan patin dengan dosis berbeda yakni 0% (A), 10% (B), 20% (C), 30% (D) dan 40% (E) dari penggunaan tepung ikan (28 g). Pemeliharaan dilakukan dalam wadah (berisi 20 L air) selama 42 hari. Pakan diberikan 5% dari bobot tubuh dengan frekuensi tiga kali sehari. Bobot tubuh ikan ditimbang sekali dalam seminggu. Kualitas air dikontrol pada kisaran yang sesuai untuk pemeliharaan ikan nila. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan (pertambahan bobot individu) ikan nila berkisar antara 2,79 g - 3,17 g, feed conversion ratio (FCR) berkisar antara 1,62-1,68, dan survival rate (SR) berkisar antara 75,0-77,5%. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung hasil samping pengolahan ikan patin sebagai sumber protein hewani dalam mensubstitusi protein dari tepung ikan sebagai bahan baku pakan tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan, FCR dan SR ikan nila (p>0,05). Dosis tepung hasil samping pengolahan ikan patin yang dapat digunakan yakni 40% dari tepung ikan.

Abstract

The striped snakehead (Channa striata Bloch, 1793) is a freshwater fish which has long been popular as a food fish. Commonly found in freshwater bodies such as rivers, swamps and lakes, striped snakeheads have a high albumin protein content which can help to accelerate wound healing, facilitate the circulation of body fluids and maintain osmotic pressure in the body. Salinity is one of the limiting factors that can affect fish growth and survival. Changes in salinity could directly affect striped snakehead growth and metabolism. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different salinity treatments on the growth and albumin content of juvenile striped snakeheads. The research was conducted in November-December 2021 at the Water Quality and Aquatic Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Tadulako University, Indonesia. The study applied 5 salinity treatments (2 ppt, 4 ppt, 6 ppt, 8 ppt and 10 ppt) with 8 replicates for 30 days. Net weight gain, specific growth rate (weight and length) and survival rate did not differ significantly between treatments (ANOVA, P>0.05). The Tukey post-hoc test indicated significantly higher growth under the 8 ppt salinity treatment (1.04±0,19 cm) with 100% survival rate. Albumin content increased linearly with salinity from 2 ppt (3.6-4.0%) to 10 ppt (4.9-5.3 %).

Abstract

The research was conducted to study the effect of salinity on the growth of Banggai Cardinalfish Pterapogon kauderni. The research was set up in completely randomized design with different salinity as the main variable, i.e. 27, 29, 31, 33 and 35 ppt with 4 replications. The result showed that the lowest salinity (27 ppt) resulted in the highest fish growth (1.625 g). Keywords : Growth, salinity, Banggai Cardinalfish   ABSTRAK Penelitian telah dilakukan  untuk mengetahui pengaruh salinitas terhadap pertumbuhan ikan kardinal banggai Pterapogon kauderni yang dipelihara dalam akuarium. Penelitian  menggunakan  Rancangan  Acak   Lengkap  dengan 5 perlakuan salinitas, yaitu 27, 29, 31, 33 dan 35 ppt, masing-masing 4 kali ulangan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan berat mutlak (1,625 g) tertinggi diperoleh pada salinitas 27 ppt. Abstract

Penelitian ini menginvestigasi pengaruh pemberian pakan yang mengandung tepung bulu ayam terhadap laju pertumbuhan dan tingkat hidup ikan lele. Pemilihan ikan lele didasarkan pada kemudahan budidaya, pertumbuhan pesat, dan toleransi terhadap area terbatas. Namun, biaya pakan yang tinggi menjadi kendala utama dalam budidaya ikan ini. Eksperimen dilakukan selama 60 hari di Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Tatanga, Palu, menggunakan desain acak lengkap dengan empat variasi persentase tepung bulu ayam dalam pakan (0%, 10%, 15%, dan 20%), dan setiap perlakuan diulang lima kali. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa penambahan tepung bulu ayam secara signifikan memengaruhi pertumbuhan ikan lele. Pemberian pakan dengan 20% tepung bulu ayam menghasilkan peningkatan bobot total tertinggi, yaitu 5,61 gram, sementara tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan tercatat antara 68% hingga 88%.

Abstract

The purpose of community service activities is to empower fishing communities through training in making bubu as a fishing gear that is generally used by local fishermen. Bubu fishing gear is made of woven bamboo in a rectangular shape. It is a type of fishing gear used by local fishermen to catch demersal fish (local: stone fish). Through community service activities, it is expected to improve the skills of fishing communities in the region. The specific target is to train 30 fishermen from Labuan Salumbone village. The method developed in the implementation of this service activity is education and training in making bubu fishing gear. Education and training in making bubu is an activity to introduce and train fishing communities in making bubu as a fishing gear that can produce catches of various types of fish. In addition, this activity uses a learning by doing approach through groups that have been trained, namely learning while working / doing business. The implementation of community service activities begins with the socialization process of community service activities by the service team from the Alkhairaat University Faculty of Fisheries lecturers and lecturers of the Tadulako University Aquaculture study program. This socialization aims to introduce the community to the activities that will be carried out. Furthermore, training activities for making bubu were carried out which were attended by 23 fishermen.

Abstract

Fisheries are one of the agricultural sub-sectors that play an important role in contributing to income figures for the state and the region because most of Indonesia's territory is water so that the fisheries sector is a sub-sector that is feasible to be developed in this country, one of which is through aquaculture. One of the efforts that can increase and maintain productivity in the aquaculture sector is to classify provinces that produce aquaculture production into groups based on the similarity of characteristics possessed by each province in Indonesia. In this study, clustering was carried out using cluster analysis using the average linkage method and based on the analysis results obtained showed that cluster 1 consists of 25 provinces, cluster 2 consists of 5 provinces, cluster 3 consists of 2 provinces, cluster 4 consists of 1 province, and cluster 5 consists of 1 province with a standard deviation value within a cluster of 11,729 and a standard deviation between clusters of 118,745.

Abstract

Probiotik, sebagai mikroorganisme hidup yang memberikan manfaat kesehatan bagi inangnya ketika diberikan dalam jumlah yang sesuai, memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pakan dan kesehatan udang, serta memperbaiki kualitas lingkungan perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh konsentrasi probiotik (Lactobacillus sp.). dalam pakan komersil terhadap pertumbuhan udang kaki putih (Penaeus vannamei). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 40 hari pada bulan Oktober-November 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancagan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu penambahan probiotik Lactobacillus sp. dengan konsentrasi berbeda dan 4 ulangan sehingga terdapat 20 unit percobaan. Data laju pertumbuhan spesifik, rasio konversi pakan, dan kelangsungan hidup dianalisi ragam (ANOVA) pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% dan diuji lanjut Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Data diolah menggunakan program software Microsoft Excel 2010 dan Minitab 16. Hasil analisis ragam (ANOVA) dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% menunjukkan bahwa penambahan probiotik bakteri Lactobacillus sp. dengan konsentrasi berbeda dalam pakan komersil terfermentasi berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan spesifik udang kaki putih. Penggunaan probiotik Lactobacillus sp. pada pakan dengan konsentrasi 16% menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan spesifik tertinggi sebesar 6,02±0,36%, rasio konversi pakan terendah sebesar 1,73±0,18 dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup sebesar 75%.

Abstract

Banggai Cardinalfish (BCF) habitat is found in protected waters, such as Lalong Bay, Banggai Regency. Banggai cardinalfish are associated with various biota such as sea urchins (especially Diadema setosum) which live close to coral reef, seagrass and mangrove ecosystems. The aim of this research was to analyze marine debris contamination in Banggai cardinalfish habitat in Lalong Bay. This research used a quadrat sampling method (2m x 2m) along 20 m-30 m line transects at 4 research stations. Based on the analysis, organic marine debris types comprised: medium-sized pieces of wood, wood chips, coconuts, coconut husks, leaves and fish carcasses. Inorganic marine debris types comprised glass bottles, tin cans, light bulbs, baby diapers, cooking oil bottles, mineral water bottles, plastic cups, plastic spoons, toothbrushes, buoys, plastic packaging, plastic baskets, lighters, ropes, fishing nets, styrofoam, rubber sandals, tires and other plastic debris. The average amount of debris was 17 items/m2, volume 0.13 m3, weight 1,251 gr/m2 at Station 1; 16.75 items/m2, volume 0.10 m3, weight 1,157 gr/m2; at Station 2; 20.5 items/m2, volume 0.04 m3, weight 2,341 gr/m2 at Station 3 26.3 items/m2, volume 0.07 m3, weight 1,895 gr/m2 at Station 4. Based on observations at these stations in the port, much of the BCF fish habitat was found to be exposed to marine debris due to high levels of human activity and a lack of waste management capacity.
