Data diambil melalui observasi wawancara dan dokumentasi. Melalui metode partisipatif, dilakukan analisis kebutuhan, diskusi kelompok terarah, pengembangan desain visual, pembuatan prototipe, hingga uji kemasan. Abstract

Adapting to a new lifestyle due to new normal conditions requires the implementation of health protocols by each individual to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. One of the steps that can be taken to avoid transmission is to bring your own personal equipment, considering that some public places have implemented health protocols and do not provide personal items in general. In this context, a bag that can efficiently accommodate luggage is needed. From these observations, it appears that multifunctional bag design is very important during this pandemic. This research uses a comparative study method of several existing products by applying the time and motion study method. The results showed that common problems involved overloading, which can damage the bag and cause shoulder discomfort, and lack of adequate compartments. These findings were used as a basis to develop a multifunctional bag with an emphasis on comfort and the addition of adequate compartments to support productive activities both inside and outside the home.

Abstract

When celebrating graduation or promotion at school level, they are used to holding a celebration event all day long. Various types of competitions were held and competed in, and various artistic performances were shown openly. Performing arts include musical group performances, solo singing, dance, musical ensembles and musical drama. There are still several schools, including MI Asy Syifa Rancamanyar, which still use external assistance to prepare activities on the grounds that they donot have knowledge in the related field. For example, when creating singing accompaniment music, dance accompaniment music, and even audio for musical drama performances with a more complex level of complexity. This study aims to understand teachers who are involved in extracurricular activities, particularly their ability to create audio-musical dramas. The method used is service learning-based training with an active participatory approach that focuses on meeting the community needs identified in previous year's training. The research results indicate an improvement in participants' understanding and knowledge of the recording and audio rendering processes. This audio production training helps teachers gain a better understanding and trains them in audio production for musical dramas using Reaper DAW software. As a result, teachers become more productive and independent in preparing materials for art performances at their schools

Abstract

Despite growing interest in visual emotion in Indonesian cinema, limited attention has been paid to how religious–humanist films visualize humanitarian meaning; this study addresses that gap through an analysis of Hayya: The Power of Love 2. Narratively, this film is rooted in the real-world issue of Palestine, providing an empirical context for visually examining the humanitarian dimension. This study analyzes how mise-en-scène generates humanitarian meaning in Hayya: The Power of Love 2 (2019). A qualitative–descriptive approach is applied within Roland Barthes’s semiotic framework at the levels of denotation and connotation. Data were collected through shot-by-shot observation and visual note-taking, analyzed using denotative–connotative coding and occurrence mapping to identify patterns of meaning. The unit of analysis consists of shots or frames from purposively selected key scenes. Overall, the findings show that in-frame arrangements consistently guide interpretations toward humanitarian themes—especially vulnerability, solidarity, and an ethics of care—through relations among visual signs rather than reliance on dialogue. The study contributes to visual semiotics and humanitarian representation by demonstrating how recurring spatial, chromatic, and embodied cues organize and naturalize humanitarian concern in Indonesian religious–humanist cinema.

Abstract

Dewi Sartika is an Indonesian education pioneer who fought for women’s right to education in the early 20th century. However, her values are gradually being forgotten, even at SD–SMP Dewi Sartika Bandung, which carries her educational legacy. The institution faces challenges such as weak identity, limited promotion, and low appeal to young audiences and tourists. This study focuses on designing 2D character concept art as part of a digital promotional strategy for the Living Museum Sakola Kaoetamaan Istri, in collaboration with Bandung Good Guide. The characters are designed as local tourists joining cultural walking tours, serving as visual representations that connect Dewi Sartika’s educational heritage with Bandung’s creative tourism. with design thinking approach, the research applies the empathize and define stages to understand audience behavior, and the ideate and prototype stages to visualize character designs using user persona–based character design approach within the framework of participatory design for character design. The results show that character-based storytelling supported by Bandung Good Guide’s media network is more effective than conventional methods in attracting young audiences and cultural tourists. This approach helps revitalize historical values while strengthening the museum’s role as a cultural heritage destination in Bandung.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a visual communication design strategy for Muaradua Village, Sukabumi, as an effort to develop a bamboo craft–based creative economy through a structured participatory approach. The method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving artisans, village youth, and local government officials actively across all stages of the research process, including problem identification, potential mapping, concept development, and media design. This approach was chosen based on preliminary findings indicating that the village’s main challenges lie not in the availability of bamboo raw materials or the artisans’ technical skills, but in weak collective management systems, limited coordination among local actors, and the absence of a shared village identity narrative. The research output, a village profile video, was developed through a collaborative process so that it functions not only as an external promotional medium but also as a tool for social reflection and a learning medium for the community. The findings indicate that community involvement in the creative process significantly increases a sense of ownership toward the resulting media, strengthens awareness of Muaradua Village’s identity as a bamboo village, and encourages the emergence of new initiatives in managing local potential. Conceptually, this study proposes a participatory-based village profile video design model as a visual communication design strategy that positions social processes as the primary foundation, so that development orientation is not limited to the quality of the final product but also emphasizes the social processes that support sustainability.
