Abstract

This study is aimed at producing a learning tool for statistics of junior high school using realistic mathematics education approach which includes valid and practical lesson plans (RPP) and students worksheets (LKS) to develop mathematical literacy skills. This development research refers to the 4-D development model from Thiagarajan which consists of define, design, development, and disseminate stages. The test subjects were seventh grader students of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. The data ware obtained using validation sheets by experts and students response questionnaire sheets. It is found that the result of expert validation for RPP is 3.84 (very valid) and for LKS 3.52 (very valid). The students worksheet has suited the practicality requirements with the percentage of student responses reaching 88.57%. It can be concluded that the RPP and LKS have fulfilled valid and practical requirements.

Abstract

Abstract: This research to improve the learning process and the student’s mathematical understanding skill by Discovery Learning (DL) model. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The subjects of this research were students of class VII2 SMPN 25 Pekanbaru. This study was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Student Worksheet) and instruments for collecting data (Observation Sheets and Mathematical-Understanding Tests). The observation sheets were used to find out the data of students and teacher activity during learning process which would analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, and mathematical understanding test were used to collect the student’s mathematical understanding skill outcomes which would analyzed quantitatively. Based on the analysis of the observation sheets showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Result of the test indicates that the student’s learning achievement for the first is 48.03 improved in cycle I to 64.21 and improved to 81.37 in cycle II. The improvement of student’s learning achievement founded for each indicator of mathematical understanding skill: redefine the concept, provide examples and not examples the concept, and applying concepts to solve the problem. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the implementation of Discovery Learning model approach can improve the learning process and the students’ mathematical understanding skill outcomes at class VII2 SMPN 25 Pekanbaru.Key Words: mathematical understanding skill, discovery learning, classroom action research

Abstract

Perkembangan dunia usaha ditandai dengan semakin banyaknya perusahaan–perusahaan yang didirikan, baik yang bergerak dalam bidang industri, perdagangan maupun jasa.Peran penggunaan komputer pada sebuah perusahaan atau organisasi bukanlah sesuatu yang awam lagi, penggunaan komputer merupakan hal yang wajib.Dengan adanya system komputerisasi pada setiap perusahaan atau organisasi, segala proses mulai dari proses pengolahan data sampai pembuatan laporan dan dokumen penting lainnya dapat tersusun rapi sehingga dapat mempermudah proses penyimpanan dan pencarian data. Proses sistem penjualan yang sedang berjalan saat ini masih menggunakan metode manual. Proses penjualan masih menggunakan brosur untuk mencari konsumen sehingga kurang efektif dan efiesien. Program penjualan ini merupakan usulan penelitian rancangan system informasi.Dengan memanfaatkan fasilitas teknologi komputer dan menggunakan internet, mencoba untuk membuat fasilitas penjualan yang lebih baik.Dengan membuat system penjualan secara online dimana proses kerjanya tidak memakan waktu yang cukup lama maka penjualan dapat berjalan dengan baik serta pelayanan penjualan yang bersifat online. Desain dibuat dengan mengunakan Dreamweaver CS5, serta database yang digunakan menggunakan Mysql sehingga databasenya tersimpan dengan rapih. Fungsi utama dari system penjualan online ini yaitu untuk membantu dalam memudahkan untuk mendapatkan sumber informasi produk promo barang keluaran terbaru pada Mitra Karsa Furniture, sehingga para customer dapat mudah dalam membeli produk terbaru, kapan saja, dimanapun ingin membeli barang tersebut.

Abstract

This study was conducted in the even semester of academic year 2018/2019. The research instruments used are learning material (Syllabus, Lesson Plan, and Student Worksheet) and instrument for collecting data (Observation Sheets and Mathematical Understanding Tests). The observation sheets were used to find out the data of students and teacher activity during learning process which would analyzed qualitatively, and mathematical understanding test were used to collect the student’s mathematical understanding skill outcomes which would analyzed quantitatively. Base on the analysis of the observation sheets showed that implementation of learning process in 2nd cycle was improved when compared to 1st cycle. Result of the test indicates that the student’s learning achievement for the first is 52,08 improved in 1st cycle to 68,75 and improved to 84,26 in 2nd cycle. The improvement of student’s learning achivement founded for each indicator of mahematical understanding skill: (1) redefine the concept; (2) provide examples and not examples the concept; (3)use, utilize, choose certain procedures or operations; and (4) apply problem solving algorithms or algorithms. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the implementation of Discovery Learning model approach can improve the learning process and the student’s mathematical understanding skill outcomes at class XI MIA 1 SMA Babussalam Pekanbaru.Key Words: Mathematical Understanding Skill, Discovery Learning Model, Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract : This research aims to improve student’s mathematics learning achievement through implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VIII1 SMPN 1 Teluk Kuantan at the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The subject of this researchconsist of 32 students, there are 19 female students and 13 male students. The research instrument consists of learning materials (Sylabus, Lesson Plan, and Activity Sheets) and instruments for collecting data (Observation Sheets and Mathematical achievement test). Data analysis technique in this study are descriptive narrative analysis of qualitative data and descriptive statistics analysis ofquantitative data. Based on analysis of the observation sheet, the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning approach can improve the learning process as indicated by the increase in the activity of teacher and students in each cycle. Data obtained from mathematical achievement test result the percentage of students which ispass Minimum Mastery Crieria (MMC) increase from 37,5% to 59,4% at the first test and to 75% at the second test. This research concludes that the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning approach improved the learning process and the student’s mathematical achievement at class VIII1 SMPN 1 Teluk Kuantan in the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic year.Key Words : Mathematics Learning Achievement, Contextual Teaching and Learning approach, Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by the percentage of students who reached the KKM was 31%, namely 9 people out of 29 students, it was seen that 69% of students in Class VIIF of SMP 10 Tapung were under the KKM. The KKM set by the school for comparison material is 70. Based on these data, it can be said that the learning outcomes of Class VIIF students in Tapung 10 Middle School on the comparison material are still low. This study aims to improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade VIIF students of 10 Tapung Junior High School in school year 2018/2019 through the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model. The research subjects were VIIF students of 10 Tapung Junior High School in the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 21 people. Data collection instruments in this study are syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheets, and teacher and student activity observation sheets, as well as daily test questions. The results of this study indicate that the average student learning outcomes increased from the basic score of 41.8 to the first cycle to 70.1 with an increase in percentage of 20.85%, then at the base level 41.8 to the second cycle 83.00 with an increase of 29.35%. While the average activity of teachers in the first cycle was 77.78 (moderate) and increased in the second cycle to 96.97 (Very Good) or increased by 37.5. Besides the activity of students with an average in the first cycle is 71.8 (Moderate) and increases in the second cycle to 97.4 (Very Good) or an increase of 35.42. Based on these results it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students have increased. Teacher activities and student activities at each meeting also increased. This proves that the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VIIF of Tapung 10 Junior High School.Key Words: Students Math Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model Type STAD

Abstract

Students' communication skills need to be described because they are used as communication tools in solving problems given. This study aims to find out and analyze students' mathematical communication skills and their obstacles to the topic of two-variable linear equation systems. This type of research is descriptive research. The research subjects consisted of 6 students divided in high, medium and low-ability students who were selected from 20 students, class VIII students of Riau Global IT Middle School Pekanbaru in 2018/2019. The method used is tests and interviews. The results obtained by the overall achievement were 70% of the achievement of indicators expressing mathematical ideas by speaking, writing, showing, and describing them visually, 66.7% for indicators of understanding, interpreting, and evaluating mathematical ideas presented in the form written, oral, or visual and 40% for the achievement of indicators using vocabulary, notation, and mathematical structures to represent ideas, describe relationships, and model situations. Whereas the obstacles to mathematical communication skills found are the ability of prerequisites that are not fulfilled, low reading and writing skills and low mathematical understanding of students.

Abstract

Kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual dapat memberikan manfaat bagi siswa yaitu siswa mengetahui apa kegunaan dari pokok bahasan yang telah dipelajari dan kemampuan dalam mengambil suatu keputusan. Kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual merupakan suatu masalah yang perlu ditangani pemecahannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan jenis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual pada materi aritmetika sosial berdasarkan  Newman?s Eror Analysis (NEA) yang terdiri dari 5 jenis kesalahan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Kuala Indragiri yang terdiri dari 8 siswa kemampuan tinggi, 10 siswa berkemampuan sedang, dan 12 siswa berkemampuan rendah. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu berupa tes soal. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh tidak terdapat siswa yang melakukan kesalahan membaca dikarenakan siswa telah mampu membaca simbol-simbol pada soal dengan benar. Siswa melakukan kesalahan pada memahami masalah sebesar 26.61%, transformasi masalah sebesar 28.51%, keterampilan proses sebesar 22.05%, dan kesalahan pada penarikan kesimpulan sebesar 22.43%. Faktor penyebab ialah siswa belum dapat memahami informasi yang terdapat dalam soal, lupa cara yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan soal, kurang teliti dalam perhitungan dan tidak dapat menarik kesimpulan dari penyelesaian soal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi peneliti, analisis terhadap lembar jawaban ulangan harian siswa dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis lembar jawaban ulangan harian siswa yaitu 70% siswa yang memiliki kemampuan dibawah 2,4. Dimana indikator kemampuan penalarannya yaitu menyajikan pernyataan matematika dengan gambar, memeriksa kesasihan suatu argumen, melakukan manipulasi data, mengajukan dugaan dan menarik kesimpulan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas x2 sma 1 banuhampu yang berjumlah 28 orang.  Teknik pengumpulan data adalah tes kemampuan penalaran. Data yang terkumpul dianalis dengan prosedur analisis kerja, menyajikan data dan menarik kesimpulan. Dari  hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa tergolong sedang, dengan skor 2,02. Jika dilihat secara distribusinya yaitu 5 orang siswa (18%) dengan kategori tinggi, 15 orang siswa (53,5%) jategori sedang dan 8 orang siswa (28,5%) dengan kategori rendah.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on students’ mathematics learning outcomes of class X Science2 at Senior High School 1 Ujungbatu which still under the Minimum Criteria of mastery learning (KKM) that has been settled by the school that is 75. Based on the data of quiz (UH) on absolute-value equation and inequalities topic, there were 92% students who didn’t reach KKM. The purpose of this research was to improve the learning process and the students’ mathematic learning outcomes at class X Science.2 of Senior High School 1 Ujungbatu at the first semester in 2017/2018 academic year on rational and irrational inequalities topic, and linear equation system of three variables topic. This research was classroom action research with two cycles. The instruments used in this research were learning devices and the instruments of collecting data. The learning devices used were syllabus, lesson plan (RPP), and student woksheet (LKS). While the instruments of collecting data were observation sheets and students mathematic test. The observation sheets were used to find out the data of students and teacher activity during learning process which would analyzed qualitatively, and students mathematic test were used to collect the students’ mathematic learning outcomes which would analyzed quantitatively. The subject of this research was the students at class X Science.2 of Senior High School 1 Ujungbatu 2017/2018 academic year which consisting of 13 boys and 23 girls with heterogeneous ability. Based on the analyzed of students and teacher activity after implemented the scientific learning approach, it can be concluded that there was an improvement of learning process at each cycles. The analyzed of students’ mathematic learning outcomes data shows that there was an improvement of students’ mathematic learning outcomes in second cycle. There were 8% students that reach KKM in UH I, and its improved in UH II which 28% students who reach KKM. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the implementation of scientific learning approach can improve the learning process and the students’ mathematic learning outcomes at class X Science2 of Senior High School 1 Ujungbatu.Key Word: Mathematic learning outcomes, scientific learning approach, classroom actionresearch
