Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of teaching materials that are not varied, and the discussion of physics material is considered difficult due to students' lack of critical thinking. This resulted in students having difficulty understanding the concepts and equations contained in the sound wave material, thus requiring an appropriate learning model, namely discovery learning, where students are expected to overcome the problems faced. So, the development of e-modules based on discovery learning was assisted by Physics Education Technology (PhET) Simulation as a substitute for actual practicum. This study aims to determine the design, feasibility, and practicality of discovery learning-based physics learning e-modules assisted by PhET Simulation on sound wave material. The Alessi and Trollip development model guides an e-module based on discovery learning assisted by PhET Simulation because it is suitable for use in this research model. The resulting product is in electronic form and has three stages, namely: (1) Planning, (2) Design, and (3) Development. The product produced from this research is a learning e-module. Based on the alpha test of media and material experts with a very feasible category of 94.09% and based on the beta test getting a value of 93.92% very feasible category. So, e-modules based on discovery learning assisted by PhET Simulation can be used as physics learning materials on sound wave material, this e-module product can accelerate and clarify abstract theories on sound wave material for students' understanding. The study refers to one material in physics lessons at school, the object of research is still lacking, in the future it can expand the study on other physics materials and expand or increase data for beta testing by manipulating other research variables.

Abstract

Each teacher must be able to harmonize the assessment of cognitive and psychomotor aspects with the assessment of students' affective aspects in learning. Most of the research conducted in Aceh is still limited to the development of spiritual attitude assessment instruments, while studies describing the ability of science teachers to design spiritual attitude assessment instruments are still very limited. This study aims to determine the ability of junior high school science teachers in the Pidie District to prepare questions to measure students' spiritual attitudes. The research uses the Mix method, with documentation and interview analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman models, and the feasibility validity of the spiritual attitude assessment instrument uses a Likert scale and is then presented using percentage calculations. A purposive sampling technique is applied in determining the sample. The results showed that most of the teachers had less ability to design spiritual attitude assessment instruments. Few teachers could compile a comprehensive spiritual attitude assessment instrument per the attitude assessment technique in the 2013 curriculum. The first obstacle science teachers faced was formulating assessment indicators, where some teachers did not understand spiritual attitudes with social attitudes in learning. Secondly, assessment techniques with Rubik's or scoring guidelines were not in line with the demands of the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

The low quality of education in Indonesia has something to do with the low quality of teacher. Meanwhile, facing the challenge of 4.0 era, teacher is supposed to prepare the student to have the competencies and master the information and technology. Thus, professional teacher is absolutely needed in order to increase the quality of education. To solve this problem, the government conduct the Teacher Professionalism Improvement Program (PPG). This study is aimed at investigating the pros and cons in applying the online PPG daljab for Female teachers in Aceh province. This study is conducted through the qualitative approach, interview, observation and documentation. The subjects of this study are consisting of four female teachers, three online facilitators. Whilst, the data analysis techniques were conducted through the Miles and Hubberman models. The result of this study shows that there are two supporting factors in the success of the implementation of online PPG for the female Acehnese teachers. First, the support is from the online group members and then the second is from the support from the family members in operating the Information and Technology (IT) related issues. Meanwhile, the cons factors are the disability of the teacher to operate the laptop, poor internet connection, lack of focuses due to the teaching tasks at school, and the teacher motivation in mastering the IT and applying it in the teaching learning process. Therefore, it can be concluded that the program evaluation and IT training for in- service PPG are absolutely required. It is essential to conduct an IT empowerment for the pre- training teacher in the basis of the network availability and age.
