Abstract

Almost all tapioca flour manufacturers at the home S.M.E. level, particularly in the Sidomukti district of Pati, Central Java, manufacture tapioca flour only to the final stage as a lump of tapioca flour. The results of this S.M.E. cannot be directly marketed to consumers because it must go through a process again so that the flour is smooth, so S.M.E. will sell tapioca flour lumps in the factory to be processed into ready flour to be marketed, resulting in lower profits for S.M.E.s producing tapioca flour and because there is no machine to decompose tapioca flour clumps for household production scale. Machine for breaking lumps of tapioca flour, this 1-horsepower electric motor drive is designed to alleviate challenges in S.M.E.s. This machine has a 50kg/h capacity and uses a 1:5 rotation ratio transmission mechanism via pulleys and a belt. When the electric motor is turned on, pulley one on the motor will rotate and move pulley two on the shaft, which then drives the mixer (stirrer), which will break down the flour that is put through the hopper and immediately filtered by mess, which has a hole size of 0.5 mm, and flour will come out through the output hopper that is under the body. This machine is semi-automatically operated by pushing ON to turn on and OFF to turn off. This machine will perform as intended

Abstract

PT Akashi Wahana Indonesia is an automotive manufacturer that specializes in producing steering gear assemblies. The steering gear assembly process involves assembling the components of the steering gear into a single unit. A problem related to cycle time has been identified at a process position on the D74 steering gear assembly line. The cause of this issue is the manual shutter used to transfer assembly results between process positions, which requires manual intervention by operators, resulting in non-value-added time and unnecessary movement. The proposed solution to this problem is to design and development a PLC based semi-automatic reversible shutter conveyor. This shutter conveyor will serve as a material handling tool to change the transfer system between process positions. Operators can initiate the transfer to the next position by simply pressing the start button. The research methodology encompasses problem identification, literature review, design, production, and testing. The analysis includes calculations of stress and strain on the base slider, and percentage comparisons of material handling process time before and after improvement. Testing will be conducted through experiments on material handling process time. The result of this research is the implementation of a PLC-based semi-automatic reversible shutter conveyor in the D74 steering assembly line, which has achieved a 69.1% reduction in material handling process time.

Abstract

PT Nayati Indonesia merupakan perusahaan manufaktur dan perdagangan dibidang stainless steel yang menjual produk food service equipment. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menurunkan waktu proses, menurunkan produk NG, dan meningkatkan kenyamanan pada postur tubuh pekerja. Latar belakang dalam penelitian adalah pada proses roll bending masih menggunakan tenaga manusia untuk memutar spindle dalam pengerollannya, sehingga menyebabkan hasil radius atau benda kerja yang dirol memiliki ukuran yang tidak beraturan, waktu proses menjadi relatif lama sehingga masih kurang efektif dan efisien. Metode penelitian menggunakan Root Cause Analysis dan Sighley,s. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan 3 parameter jenis plat dengan tebal 0,5 mm, 0,8 mm, dan 2 mm. Hasil penelitian mesin roll bending plat setelah dilakukan improvement memiliki penurunan waktu proses sebesar 54,54% untuk tebal plat 0,5 mm, 51,91 % untuk tebal plat 0,8 mm, serta 40,8 % untuk tebal plat 2 mm, menurunkan produk NG 46,73 % untuk tebal plat 0,5 mm, 23,37 % untuk tebal plat 0,8 mm, dan 6,67 % untuk tebal 2 mm, serta peningkatan terhadap kenyamanan pada postur tubuh pekerja sebesar 75% dari analisis menggunakan metode Rapid Entire Body Assestment.Kata kunci : Hasil Radius, Mesin Roll Bending Plat, Produk NG, Waktu Proses.

Abstract

The background and problems in this research are the welding process of inner joint products at PT Yogya Presisi Tehnikatama Industri where there are not good (NG) products and the welding process time can be shortned if there is a support tool for operator. The purpose of this study is to prevent NG products from inner joints and reduce the production process time of inner joints. The method used in this study is to use a flow diagram for design. The first stage is to identify the problem with the 5M + 1E collected factor followed by conducting field studies, staff interviews, and literature studies. The second stage is to design the welding fixture inner joint using Solidworks 2019 software with dimensions of 165 mm in length, 301 mm in width, and 262.42 mm in height composed of 19 single components made of ASTM A36 steel and a standart part. The third stage is the process of making welding fixtures which includes material procurement to the CNC milling, CNC lathe, and plate bending processes followed by fixture assembly. The test results showed a decrease in NG products by 22.58% and a decrease in welding process time by 30.93%.
