Abstract

In Physics learning, students' thinking ability is still low. This is felt when students are given problems to be solved, such as solving problems related to high-order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of teaching materials oriented problem solving on the achievement of HOTS students class X SMA N 12 Padang. This research belongs to a kind of quasi experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design research design. The population of this study is all students of grade X SMA N 12 Padang registered in the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling was conducted by using Cluster Random Sampling technique to get class X IPA 1 as experiment class and class X IPA 5 as control class. The data collected are two primary and secondary data. Primary data in the form of data result of teaching materials and final test data. Secondary data is documentation data obtained through Physics teacher and administration. The data obtained were processed using t test and correlation test. after fulfilling normality, homogeneity and linearity. Furthermore the correlation test can be performed after the data is normally distributed and satisfies the linear relationship. According to the results of data analysis found the results as follows. There is an effect of 51% of problem-oriented teaching materials to solving HOTS students. Thus the working hypothesis which reads "there is a meaningful influence of the problem solve oriented learning material toward the achievement of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Physics learning in grade X SMA N 12 Padang" is acceptable.

Abstract

Achievement of Physics Competence of students in class XI of SMA N 1 2X11 Enam Lingkung has not reached the minimum completeness criteria, this is due to several things namely the lack of student interest in learning. For this reason, a study was conducted to look at the effect of the Creative Problem Solving learning model on the achievement of physics competence in class XI students. This research uses quasi-experimental research with Randomized Control Group Only Design. The study population was all students of class XI SMA N 1 2X11 Enam Lingkung who were enrolled in semester 1 of Academic Year 2019/2020. Sampling was done by using the Random Sampling Cluster technique. Research data includes student physics competencies on aspects of knowledge and skills. Based on data analysis that has been done on two aspects. Both sample classes are normally distributed and have a homogeneous variance, so the two similarity test is done with the t test. the achievement of knowledge competency tcount = 2.09 and ttable = 2.00, while the skills value tcount = 2.19 and ttable = 2.00. From the achievement of competencies in both aspects, it is obtained tcount> t table, then tcount is located outside the area of acceptance of Ho, which means Hi is accepted. Based on the t-test at the 0.05 level, it can be stated that there is a significant influence of the use of the Creative Problem Solving model on the achievement of physics competence of class XI students.

Abstract

Achievement of student learning outcomes in science learning is still not as expected. The causal factors regarding teacher education background, integrated learning models that have not been applied optimally, students' difficulties in connecting science material, and science learning resources related to material integration by the 2013 curriculum. Speculation of solutions to this problem by using The Integrated Science Textbook Type Connected. This research is concerned with studying and the relationship of The Integrated Science Textbook Type Connected to Student Learning Outcomes of second grade students of SMPN 7 Padang.This type of research is quasi-experimental research using Posttest Only Control Group Design research scheme. The population in this study were all second-year students of SMPN 7 Padang in 2018/2019 academic year. Sampling is done by combining Purposive Sampling and Cluster Random Sampling techniques. The research instrument consisted of posttest sheets and performance evaluation sheets. The data in this research were analyzed using descriptive analysis, two similarity tests, simple linear regression, and correlation test.The results showed that there were significant differences in student learning outcomes using The Integrated Science Textbook Type Connected and those that did not use, and there was a significant relationship between the application of the science textbooks to student learning outcomes for knowledge and skill competencies at the 0.05 level. Product moment correlation for knowledge competence obtained rxy value of 0.49, stated the level of moderate relationships and skills of 0.64 with a strong relationship level. In the calculation of the coefficient of determination obtained the percentage of contribution of The Integrated Science Textbook Type Connected to the aspect of knowledge 23.75%, and the aspect of skills 43.55%.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the level of validity on the worksheet of students based on comic models guided discovery learning on business material, energy, momentum, and impulse for grade 10 high school or equivalent. The method used in this research is research and development using 4D developed by Thiagarajan. In this study will be determined until the development stage, so that only through 3 stages, namely define, design, and develop. The object used in this study is a worksheet of students based on comic models guided discovery learning on business material, energy, momentum, and impulse. Data obtained from this study were obtained from the validity test through the validity sheet. The validity sheet contains four components distributed by five validators. Data obtained from the validator were processed using the kappa moment equation (k), and the results obtained were 0.79, which was included in the high category. This shows that the worksheet of students based on comic models guided discovery learning on business material, energy, momentum, and impulse for grade 10 high school is valid.

Abstract

The 2013 Curriculum requires learning to achieve overall competence of spiritual competence, social, knowledge, and skills competencies. In fact, the demands of the 2013 curriculum are not fully implemented. One factor is the lack of learning resources to support the achievement of the competencies of students demanded by the 2013 Curriculum, especially spiritual attitudes. The altervative solution to this problem is developing physics teaching materials that integrating the content of the value of spiritual intelligence. This research includes the type of research and development (R & D). This method consists of ten steps, but this research uses only six steps: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, and product testing. The object of research is the subject of physics with the content of spiritual intelligence. The instrument used in this research is the validity assessment sheet, the practicality assessment sheet, and the test result sheet. Based on data analysis, four results of this research are presented. First, teaching materials with the content of spiritual intelligence values of vector material and straight motion are in accordance with the structure of teaching materials and there are values of spiritual intelligence relevant to the concept of physics. Second, the value of the validity of teaching materials with the content of spiritual intelligence values of vector material and straight motion is very high with an average value of 86.55. Third, teaching materials with spiritual values of spiritual intelligence are practically used by teachers and students, with practical values of 83.87 and 80.54, respectively. Fourth, teaching materials with the content of spiritual intelligence values are effectively used in a scientific approach to improving the competence of learners' knowledge.

Abstract

Good education is an increase in the quality of education that is inseparable from the improvement in the competence of students. The purpose of national education is for students' competencies, both in terms of attitudes, knowledge and skills. The effort made by the government is to develop the curriculum from KTSP 2006 to the 2013 curriculum and revise it. Based on the results of the interview, there are many obstacles in the learning process. Implementation in the learning process of teachers still uses the lecture method, lack of use of LKPD in the learning process, lack of implementation of practicum activities in schools, teaching materials used are less attractive to students and not contains steps of activities that must be carried out by students. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research that aims to produce LKPD based on Learning Cycle 7E models that are tested for validation. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). R & D research methods are research methods used to produce certain products. This research procedure consisted of potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, and design revision. Product design validation was carried out by three expert lecturers. The components assessed are content worthiness, language, presentation and graphics. The results of the validation of LKPD were 83.67%. Overall LKPD based on Learning Cycle 7E model is in a very valid category so it is suitable to be used in physics learning.

Abstract

Utilization of waste pensi shells (Corbicula Moltkiana) in Lake Maninjau has not been fully optimal so that a more economical business is needed. One of them is the use of calcium oxide in pensi shells. Calcium oxide is one of the most commonly used calcium in the manufacture of dentures. This study aims to determine the value of the optimum flexural strength of the denture in order to obtain a higher quality denture material on the pensi shell that can be utilized and which has economic value. The method used is the experimental method. The sample used in this study with a size of 90 mm X 18 mm X 8 mm for testing flexibility / flexural strength. The total samples used in this study were 12 samples for testing the flexibility/flexural strength using a bending testing machine. For the use of pensi shell material, a calcination process was carried out at a temperature of 1000℃ on the pensi shell material and then characterized using XRF to determine the ingredients. The results of the characterization using XRF showed that pensi shells contain calcium elements of 97.121% and about 3% other elements such as Si, Al, P, Ag, Mn and Fe. Then the pensi shell material is mixed with other ingredients such as felsdpar, quartz, and kaolin. The material is mixed and then molded for flexural testing specimens. Based on the test results of this study, the highest flexibility value for denture samples was found in sample 4 with the most variations of pensi shell powder. The highest denture flexibility value is 25.778 MPa with a variation of 30 gram pensi shell powder in sample 4. The lowest denture flexibility value is 5.727 MPa with a variation of 0 gram pensi shell powder in sample 1. This is due to the addition of pensi shell powder. can increase the value of flexibility in dentures. The increase in the flexibility value was influenced by the CaO content obtained from the pensi shell powder.

Abstract

Bioetanol is the altenative fuel from raw material plant that contains carbohydrate which is the sugarcane plant. The making of biooetanol from sugarcane plant done by the process of distillation. The process of distillation is how separation of liquid from its alloy based on difference in boiling point or based on the ability of a substance to evaporate. The process of distillation unit is referred to as a distillation column. Distillation columns can separate between ethanol and water. The research aims to know the influence of high columns against the resulting bioetanol levels on sugarcane juice. Result on measurement levels bioetanol for each variation of the height of the column is obtained as follows: for the column height of 0 (No column) there are levels of 35%, for the column height of 0,5 metres there are levels of 75%, for the column height of 1 metre there are levels of 86%, and for the column height of 2 metre there are levels of 87%. In this research founded high distillation column influence against the increasingly high levels of bioetanol distillation column which then levels will be higher because bioetanol in column a different pressure loss occurs and the rate of ethanol vapor

Abstract

Chitosan membrane is capable of being used as adsorbent adsorption of metal ions Pb. Assessment of the electrical properties of the chitosan membrane is one see references in the membrane as ability adorpsi metal ion weight. The purpose of this study to determine the nature of the conductance of chitosan membranes useful to look at the ability of the membrane chitosan as the adsorption of metal ions Pb. This research is experimental research with samples of chitosan membranes were soaked in a solution of Pb metal. The time variation of soaking the membrane is 0.5 hours, 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 2.5 hours, 3 hours and without soaking. The measurement results for the effect of soaking variation time chitosan membrane. Pb metal in solution obtained current-voltage characteristics of the membrane in the solution is linear, the longer soaking in a solution of Pb metal, the greater the current flow. Abstract

ABSTRACT Many people like eggs because the price is cheap eggs also have high nutritional value, but not many know the influence of duration of storage on the quality of eggs. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of capacitance and electrical conductivity of the white and yellow eggs are stored in the refrigerator and the room is open for 30 days. Measurement of capacitance using a parallel plate capacitor chip connected to the LCR meter using a frequency of 1 KHz, 2 KHz, 3 KHz, 4 KHz and 5 KHz, while the value of measuring the electrical conductivity of the white and the yolk are used konduktivity meters. The results obtained that the duration of the storage effect on the quality of eggs. Capacitance values of the white and the yolk are stored impaired during storage, as well as the capacitance value for the eggs stored in the refrigerator, but do not drop too much and tend to be stable, the frequency affects the capacitance value the lower the frequency the greater the capacitance value obtained . Value conductivity values also decreased during storage, the decline is evident in storage 26 days to 30 days, the eggs conductivity values stored in the refrigerator also decreased but the values obtained stable.Keywords: eggs, white and yellow eggs, capacitance, conductivity.
