Abstract

Research on the formation of TiO2 nanofiber has been carried out with PVP variations of 1.1; 1,2; 1.3; 1.4 and 1.5 grams using electrospinning. This study aims to determine the effect of PVP variation on the viscosity and morphology of TiO2 nanofibers and to determine the crystal structure of the fibers. Synthesis of TiO2 was carried out using the sol-gel method. TTIP is used as a precursor, ethanol as a solvent, acetic acid as a catalyst and PVP as a fiber-forming polymer. The results of the viscosity measurement show that the amount of PVP used in the sample is directly proportional to the level of solution viscosity. Based on the results of SEM characterization, it showed relatively uniform nanofiber morphology with fiber diameter ranging from 94 nm - 735 µm. The results of TEM characterization showed that the size of TiO2 nanofiber particles ranged from 7-15 nm. The results of XRD analysis showed that the crystal structures formed at a calcination temperature of 450 oC were the anatase and rutile phases.

Abstract

The research about the calculation of burn-up model of the hexagonal assembly in SCWR reactor using thorium as fuel materials has been done. This research uses thorium-232 and uranium-233 as fuel materials. Calculations were performed using the ASMBURN code in the SRAC program, by determining fuel enrichment, cell radius, analyzing atomic density after burn up, increasing burn up level, and change of linear heat. The calculation results obtained show the value of efficient fuel enrichment at 4% enrichment, with 0.3902 cm of fuel cell radius, 0.4508 cm of cladding, and 0.5586 cm of moderator. The atomic density of Th232 decreased for each burn-up period meanwhile, the atomic density of U233, U235, and Pu239 increased. The keff value will decrease along with the addition of burn-up and greater change of linear heat.

Abstract

Sintesis titania doping sulfur (S-TiO2) dilakukan melalui metode sol-gel.

Abstract

Research on the effect of the addition phosphorus doping using a syringe pump with the sol-gel method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition rate of phosphorus doping to the crystal structure and specific surface area of TiO2. Doping increment rate used are 0,4; 0,2; 0,13 and 0,1 ml/hours of TiO2 samples were calcined at 450ºC for 5 hours. The powder was characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and surface area analyzer (SAA) by the BET method. XRD diffractogram generally shows that the nanotitania crystal structure phase is anatase which is the result of TTIP synthesis as the main source of TiO2. Particle size analysis using XRD data on TiO2 with different rates in a row that is 10.13; 9.98; 9.25 and 10.33 nm. BET test results for each sample were 86.954; 87,367; 99,694; 96,295 and 96,187 m2/g. The results of XRD characterization can affect the surface area, getting smaller the particle size, the greater surface area will be obtained.

Abstract

Hydrothermal methods have been developed for the manufacture of ZnO. This study aims to find out the effects of variation on the chemical composition and structure of nanoZnO, the nanoZnO phase formed and the nanoZnO particle size formed. The NaOH variation used is 1; 2; 3; and 4 grams. The characteristics used are X-Ray Diffactions (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The XRD characterization results show that the diffraction peaks correspond to standard databases and show wurtzite phases with hexagon structures. The results of SEM characterization showed that the mean measurement of ZnO particles and the error value in the 1 gram variation was 67 ± 3 nm, while the 3 gram variation was 76 ± 6 nm.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the synthesis of nanotitania by hydrothermal as a function of temperature. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of temperature on the phase formation, structure and particle size of TiO2 using the hydrothermal method with TiOSO4 as the main ingredient. In this study, using temperature variations of 150, 200, 250 and 300°C and samples were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The phases formed are the anatase and rutile phases which have a tetragonal structure and the hilly phase with an orthorhombic structure. The rutile phase appeared predominantly in each sample and the sulfuric phase only appeared at 250ºC. The anatase phase obtains a particle size of 10-18 nm, where the higher the temperature, the bigger the particle size. Furthermore, the rutile phase obtained a particle size of 14-25 nm, where the higher the temperature, the smaller the particle size.

Abstract

Research has been carried out to analyze the dynamics of the soliton DNA of the Peyrard-Bishop-Dauxois (PBD) model with 4th-order-approximation Morse Potential. The aim of research is to know physical changes of PBD model with  4th-order-approximation Morse Potential on stable and unstable state in describing denaturation process of DNA. The Process was carried out by finding a numerical solution of the 4th-order NLS  as stable equation using finite-difference method. Then, the result was be simulated on Matlab. The results show that on the stable state, expand Morse Potential for 4th-order than for 3th-order rastically increased amplitude of oscillation from 1,89 pm to 16 pm. On the first unstable state, the stable equation  was multiplied by (1+ ) where the value of  = 0.25. On the second unstable state, the stable equation  was multiplied two times by (1+ ) where the value of  = 0.25. On three of them, amplitude of oscillation decreased from 16 pm, 2,9 pm to 2,5 pm. Comparing to previous order, there is a new addtion to the 4th-order Morse Potential coefficient  which have physical meaning that larger expansion requires larger dissociation energy as well. So it can be concluded that the PBD model of DNA is descriptively able to explain the biological phenomenon of denaturation in DNA.

Abstract

The acid hydrolysis method has been used to manufacture nanocellulose from corn cobs. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of H2SO4 on the characteristics of nanocellulose produced from corn cobs and their surface morphology. The variations of H2SO4 used were 5, 10, 15, and 20%. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) are characterizations used. The results of XRD characterization showed that the crystallite size obtained followed the nanocellulose crystallite size, which was 1.79-2.59 nm. The SEM characterization showed that the resulting nanocellulose's surface morphology was lumpy and non-porous.
