Abstract

One of the skills required in learning mathematics is numerical literacy. In learning mathematics, numeration literacy requires students to be able to solve contextual problems in everyday life. Students' literacy and numeration skills are generally low. One of the reasons is the lack of literacy training in numeration, which is usually routine issues that do not sharpen students' literacy and numeration skills. The lack of use of cultural contexts in learning and in matters also makes students more likely not to want to improve their literacy and numeration skills. This research is a developmental research aimed at developing the issue of numeration literacy based on the local wisdom of Maluku by expressing how the process of development and how the numerational literacy ability of students in solving the issue is numeration based on local Wisdom developed. The development model used is the development model by Tessmer.Tessmer's development consists of several stages: preliminary, self-evaluation, prototyping (self evaluation, one-toone, and small group) and field testing. The instrument in this research is to raise the practicality of matters and matters of numeration literacy based on local wisdom developed. The result or product of this study is eight elements of local wisdom-based numeration literacy, consisting of three True-False complex double-choice questions, one deceptive question and four descriptive questions

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning type TAI (Teams Assisted Individualization) model according to the results of junior high school mathematics learning in material of set. The method used was quasi-experimental with the post-test only given to control group chosen taking design. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique, and two classes by considering students' initial abilities. The control class was treated by using conventional models while the experimental class uses the TAI type cooperative learning model. Data were analyzed by t-test technique. This study revealed that the learning outcomes of students who studied with the cooperative learning model type TAI (67.75) were higher compared to conventional learning models (54.45). Testing the significance of differences with the t-test shows that t count = 2.206 > t table = 2.024, meaning that there are significant differences between the two groups. It can be concluded that the TAI model is more effective as it is reflected on students' higher scores compared to those who were treated with conventional models.

Abstract

The learning model has an essential role in student learning outcomes. Each learning model has different contributions, such as the Scramble learning model, which can make students think quickly, and the CORE learning model can train students to think critically. Thus, this study aims to compare students' learning outcomes with the two models, especially in arithmetic operations in algebraic forms. The research method used is quantitative research with a posttest-only group design classified as a quasi-experimental design. The research population was forty-five seventh-grade students, which were divided into two categories. The test instrument used is a description of five questions used to evaluate student learning outcomes. The study results analyzed statistically using the t-test showed that there were differences in student learning outcomes between the two groups of students. Furthermore, the continued test using Pairwise Comparison showed that students taught with the Scramble learning model had better learning outcomes than students acquainted with the CORE learning model.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to find out the types of errors made by students in completing the story of a three-variable system of equations in class X SMA Negeri 4 Maluku Tengah. This research was conducted in class X-2 of SMA Negeri 4 Maluku Tengah for the academic year 2021/2022 from May to June 2022. The data collection techniques used were tests, interviews and documentation. The research instrument is the researcher, the test sheet about the story of the three-variable linear equation system, guidelines and interviews. Data analysis test results to find out the types of errors in accordance with the procedure New people include comprehension error, transformation errors, process skills and encoding errors. The selection of subjects to be interviewed was 3 students, including 1 student with high ability, 1 student with moderate ability and 1 student with low ability. Of the three, based on the results of the interview, it was found that those with high abilities only made mistakes on question number 1, where the indicators of understanding errors and writing the final explanation were, while subjects with medium and low abilities made errors indicators on each question. The main thing that causes the emergence of some differences, because the ability of different subjects so that the ability to analyze is also different

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematika adalah kemampuan seseorang untuk merumuskan, menggunakan, dan menafsirkan matematika dalam berbagai situasi, termasuk kemampuan mengambil keputusan yang tepat dengan memanfaatkan konsep, prosedur, dan fakta matematika untuk menjelaskan dan menggambarkan masalah sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif-kualitatif, dimana analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat literasi siswa, sedangkan analisis kualitatif bertujuan mengidentifikasi kekuatan dan kelemahan siswa dalam literasi matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis 26 siswa adalah 2 siswa (7,69%) berada pada kategori tinggi, 10 siswa (38,46%) kategori sedang dan kategori rendah sebanyak 14 (53.84%) siswa. Artinya, kemampuan literasi matematika siswa SMP kelas VIII tergolong sangat rendah. Hasil analisis kualitatif menunjukkan bahwa, kelemahan siswa terletak pada kemampuan matematisasi, representasi, kemampuan penalaran dan argumentasi serta kemampuan menggunakan bahasa dan operasi simbolis, formal dan teknis. Kemampuan ini dimiliki siswa namun sangat lemah.

Abstract

Game-based learning environments, in particular, offer enjoyable learning experiences while supporting the development of conceptual understanding. This study aims to develop and evaluate Construct 2–based learning media for teaching three-dimensional geometry in Grade 7. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the Akker model. Participants included media experts, material experts, and seventh-grade students from a public junior high school in Manado. The instruments used comprised expert validation sheets, student practicality questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. The development procedure involved identifying learning challenges related to students’ difficulties in visualizing geometric solids, designing the Construct 2 media, conducting expert validation, implementing one-to-one and small-group evaluations, and conducting a classroom field test. Data were analyzed descriptively to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed media. The findings indicate that the learning media achieved high validity based on evaluations from both media and material experts, high practicality based on students’ responses, and high effectiveness based on learning outcomes. The dynamic visualizations, interactive quizzes, and mobile accessibility offered by the media helped students overcome common difficulties in distinguishing and visualizing geometric solids and their nets. The novelty of this study lies in demonstrating the pedagogical value of Construct 2 not only as a feasible development tool but also as an effective instructional intervention. The study offers practical implications for educators seeking effective digital media for geometry instruction and provides a foundation for further innovation in game-based mathematics learning.

Abstract

Student learning achievement in statistical material is still relatively low, because the learning method used is still monotonous (conventional). This study aims to improve the learning achievement of class XII Students of SMA Negeri 2 Salahutu on statistical material through the cooperative learning type two stay two stray. This type of research is a class action research consisting of two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meeting. The subjects in this study were students of class XII-MIA2 with a sample of 20 students. Data collection techniques in this study were obtained from the results of observations and final test results of students in each cycle. Classical student learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II increased by 15%. Based on results obtained, it can be concluded that using the cooperative learning of the two stay two stray type can improve the learning outcomes of class XII students of SMA Negeri 2 Salahutu on statistical matrial.

Abstract

This research is motivated by student mathematics learning outcomes on the material two-dimentional figure still low. The learning process is still teacher-centered and there is a lack of good cooperation between students in discussions when the learning process takes place. This research is an experimental study that aims to determine whether there are differences in student learning outcomes taught by cooperative models Think Pair share and learning models The conventional research design used is Nonrandomized Control Group Posttest Design. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of Ambon-Wathan High School with 100 students and the sample in this study was 40 students, selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study was in the form of test questions which consisted of question details for the final test. The analysis used is statistical analysis, which is t-test. Calculation results obtained, namely the value of Sig. (2-tailed) < α or 0.026 <0.05 which causes H0 to be rejected and H1 to be accepted. Based on the accepted hypothesis, the results of the study showed that there were differences in the learning outcomes of the experimental class and control class students who were taught with the Cooperative learning model of the Think Pair share type and the conventional learning model on the Material of Blocks and Beams

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan strategi scaffolding yang dilakukan guru dalam pembelajaran pola bilangan bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Scaffolding dilakukan berdasarkan dua variabel yaitu (1) gaya belajar visual, auditory dan kinestetik (VAK) serta (2) argumentasi yang telah dikonstruksi siswa. Gaya belajar diselidiki melalui tes dan observasi VAK dan proses pemecahan masalah sedangkan argumentasi siswa dianalisis menggunakan komponen argumentasi Toulmin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi scaffolding berbeda dibutuhkan oleh siswa sesuai gaya belajar dan jenis argumen yang dikonstruksi. Pemelajar auditory membutuhkan strategi reviewing dan explaining; pemelajar visual membutuhkan strategi environmental provisions; pemelajar kinestetik membutuhkan strategi restructuring dan reviewing. Khusus pada pemelajar visual dan kinestetik, mereka membutuhkan multimedia sebagai scaffolding yang bermakna. Selama scaffolding argumentasi siswa berkembang dan menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan problem solving.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan aplikasi Swishmax dan model pembelajaran konvensional pada materi prisma dan limas. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen (Experimental Research), dengan desain penelitian Posttest Only Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP yang terdiri dari 7 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes akhir yang terdiri atas tiga soal berbentuk uraian. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan statistik uji-t. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII3 sebesar 37.86 dan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII4 sebesar 21.84. Hasil uji prasyarat menunjukkan bahwa data pada kedua sampel berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians yang homogen, selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji beda rata-rata atau uji-t dan diperoleh nilai sig (2-tailed) < α atau 0.003 < 0.05, sehingga menyebabkan H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang artinya terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan aplikasi Swishmax dan model pembelajaran konvensional pada materi prisma dan limas.
