Abstract

An Integer is one material that is still considered difficult by students, even junior and senior high school students. Therefore it is necessary to prepare a learning media that can help students to master integers well.  Various media have been developed to make it easier for students to understand and operate integers. However, the media is still far from the reach of students. This study aims to develop learning media for integers based on local Maluku wisdom as well as learning tools, namely the Lesson Plan, teaching materials, and student worksheets that serve as a guide in learning. This research is development research using the ADDIE development model, which consists of stages, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research begins by analyzing the students' abilities on integer material and teaching materials and the media used in learning. Then the researcher designed the media and learning tools which were then submitted to the experts to be validated and to students for their implementation. Based on the results of the validation of experts and student learning outcomes, it can be concluded that the resulting learning tools are valid and can be used

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes on the material of algebraic operations using the Think Pair Share learning model. The subjects in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP PGRI Kaiwatu with a total of 14 students. This research is a classroom action research with the teacher acting as a teacher and lasts for 2 cycles. Data collection was carried out using tests and observations. Data analysis used quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. The results of the analysis showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes from the first cycle, 5 students who achieved the KKM 70 or 35.71% and those who did not complete 9 students or 64.29%, to the second cycle 11 students obtained the KKM 70 or 78.57% and 3 students who did not complete or 21.43%. From the results obtained, the cooperative learning model of the think pair share type can improve student learning outcomes in the algebraic form of operation material.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the observation that most students still make mistakes in understanding and applying problems in algebraic form, and the learning process is still teacher-centered. This study aims to determine which is better between mathematics learning outcomes in MTs students taught using the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model and the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model on algebraic form material in class VII. One of the efforts that can be made to actively involve students in learning is to apply the Think TPS cooperative learning model and the NHT cooperative learning model. The type of research used is experimental research with Post Test Group Design research design. In this study, the population used was all students of class Vll consisting of 3 classes with a total of 78 students, selected using purposive sampling technique, namely class VII1 as the first experimental class taught with the TPS cooperative learning model and class VII3 as the second experimental class taught with the NHT) cooperative learning model. For each class there were 31 and 23 students, so that the total number of samples in this study was 54 people. The instrument used in this study is a test question consisting of 4 description questions. Based on the t-test statistical analysis, the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.006 is smaller than α = 0.05 so there is a significant difference between the two models. Furthermore, the Mean value in the Group Statitics table shows that the Mean value of Think Pair Share is 62.19 and the Mean value of Numbered Heads Together is 50.19. these results can prove that the superior learning model is the TPS Cooperative Learning Model .

Abstract

This study aims to describe junior high school students' metacognition in solving two-variable linear equation system problems in terms of introverted personality type. This type of research is explorative with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 2 students who were selected using purpose sampling technique. The research instruments used consisted of test questions, interview guidelines, and questionnaires, while data collection techniques used tests, interviews, and personality type questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that introverted personality type subjects were aware of metacognition skills in the aspects of planning, monitoring and evaluation in the stages of understanding the problem, making plans, implementing plans, and re-examining answers

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of students' metacognition in solving mathematical literacy problems. The metacognitive traits explored are related to awareness in planning, monitoring, and evaluating the design of the thinking process used. The research method used is a mixed-method (sequential explanatory), which uses quantitative research results to conduct qualitative research. The research subjects were 80 early semester students who took the literacy test and chose six respondents representing the upper, middle, and lower groups, with two people in each group to be interviewed. The results showed that the mathematical literacy skills of pre-service teachers were at a low level. Metacognitive characteristics that appear in the low group are (1) realizing that the solution of strategy is not right but not improved; (2) planning to develop a settlement strategy, but are not sure, (3) do not carry out the re-check process, and (4) do not believe what is being thought and do not understand the concept. Metacognitive traits in the middle group are (1) aware of what they are thinking, (2) consciously plan various strategies to improve thinking accuracy, but do not always use these strategies, (3) tend to monitor the thinking process, and (4) show tendency to master the basic mathematical concepts of the problems at hand. The characteristics of metacognition in the high group during problem-solving are (1) Using various strategies to demonstrate or improve the accuracy of thinking (sketching, drawing), (2) Analyzing the problem before solving it, and (3) Understanding and mastering the mathematical concepts that underlie the problem which is given.

Abstract

This study was conducted to obtain an overview of the differences between ethnomathematics-based and conventional RME models on students' mathematical representation and reasoning abilities on curved-sided space building material. Researchers used quantitative research methods. This research is aquasi experiment with pretest postest research design conducted on grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Seram Barat. The samples of this study were students of class IX A. and IX E, consisting of 29 students for each class, which were taken by non-random sampling or purposive sampling. The experimental class used the ethnomathematics-based RME learning model while the control class used the conventional learning model. The research data were obtained through written tests in the experimental and control classes. The normality test showed that the data in both groups were normally distributed. The data homogeneity test also shows that the data in both groups are homogeneous. The results of the independent t-test showed that there was a difference in the average representation and reasoning skills of the experimental class as well as the control class, with a sig value of 0.00 <0.05. The N-gain test shows the effectiveness of the learning provided. The experimental class with representation ability has an average N-gain of 0.08 (high category) > 0.45 (medium category) for the control class. In the reasoning ability of the experimental class with an average of 0.83 (high category) > 0.28 (low category) for the control class

Abstract

One of the skills required in learning mathematics is numerical literacy. In learning mathematics, numeration literacy requires students to be able to solve contextual problems in everyday life. Students' literacy and numeration skills are generally low. One of the reasons is the lack of literacy training in numeration, which is usually routine issues that do not sharpen students' literacy and numeration skills. The lack of use of cultural contexts in learning and in matters also makes students more likely not to want to improve their literacy and numeration skills. This research is a developmental research aimed at developing the issue of numeration literacy based on the local wisdom of Maluku by expressing how the process of development and how the numerational literacy ability of students in solving the issue is numeration based on local Wisdom developed. The development model used is the development model by Tessmer.Tessmer's development consists of several stages: preliminary, self-evaluation, prototyping (self evaluation, one-toone, and small group) and field testing. The instrument in this research is to raise the practicality of matters and matters of numeration literacy based on local wisdom developed. The result or product of this study is eight elements of local wisdom-based numeration literacy, consisting of three True-False complex double-choice questions, one deceptive question and four descriptive questions
