Abstract

Field study aimed to know the effect of P solubilizing microbe and organic matter application to P uptake and Potatos growth at Andisol impacted Sinabung Mountain eruption. The research was conducted in Kutarayat, Namanteran, regency of Karo. The research applied randomized block design factorial with two treatment factor and three replications. Microbe factor were control, P solubilizing bacterial (30 mL), P solubilizing fungi (30 mL), P solubilizing bacterial and fungi (15 mL + 15 mL) and organic matter factor were control, Cow feces organic matter (100 g/plant), chicken feces organic matter (100 g/plant), shaw organic matter (100 g/plant), Tithonia diversifolia (100 g/ plant). Parameter measured were soil pH, available-P, shoot dry weight and plant P uptake. Abstract

The earthworm contribute to soil fertility and environment quality but they need a suitable habitat to survive on the land including the presence of organic material as a food source. The present study was conducted in Sei Pancur Plantation, Tanjung Morawa, in March - September 2015. The design used in study was a factorial randomized block design consists two factors. The first was various types of organic materials : without organic matter (B0) ; litter (B1) ; empty fruit bunches oil palm (B2) ; litter+T.harzianum (B3) ; and empty fruit bunches oil palm+T.harzianum (B4). The second were method of application : evenly spread a layer (C1) ; stacked around turn rod (C2) ; and stacked on the edge of weeded circle (C3). The result found that application of organic materials significantly increased P-available, K-exchangeable, and earthworm. Method of applications significantly increased P-available and earthworm populations. The relationship among interaction of both significantly increased phosphate available and earthworm populations. Application on the edge of weeded circle was the best way to reduce P-available and earthworm populations. Empty fruit bunches oil palm+T.harzianum reduced K-exchangeable. Abstract

Tanah Inceptisol memiliki kandungan bahan organik yang rendah dan pH yang rendah.Kandungan bahan organik rendah dengan ratio C/N tergolong rendah dan kandungan P potensial rendah.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Kasa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan.Pada bulan Agustus tahun 2015 sampai dengan selesai.Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial terdiri dari 2 faktor.  Faktor I adalah pupuk kandang ayam dengan 4 taraf yaitu: tanpa aplikasi  pupuk kandang ayam, 40 g/polibag, 80 g/polibag, dan 120 g/polibag. Faktor II adalah beberapa sumber Pyang terdiri dari: tanpa aplikasi pupuk P, pupuk SP-36, dan pupuk TSP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian pupuk kandang ayam dapat merubah beberapa sifat kimia tanah, serapan P dan produksi tanaman jagung pada Tanah Inceptisol Kwala Bekala. Pemberian beberapa sumber P dapat  merubah beberapa sifat kimia tanah, serapan P dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung pada Tanah Inceptisol Kwala Bekala. Interaksi antara pupuk kandang ayam dan beberapa sumber P dapat merubah beberapa sifat kimia tanah, serapan P dan produksi tanaman jagung pada Tanah Inceptisol Kwala Bekala.

Abstract

Application of Pontoscolex corethrurus gives the positive effect to soil properties. Recently, P.corethrurus is directly collected from field which are time consuming and costly. This research aimed to determine the best organic matter and soil texture types as the artificial culture medium in supporting the P.corethrurus growth. This research was conducted in Ecological and Biological Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, University of Sumatera Utara. This research was conducted in two phases, with using factorial randomized block design. The first factor was types of soil texture  i.e. sandy loam (60% sand; 24% silt; 16% clay), Clay (28% sand; 20% silt; 52% clay), clay loam (36% sand; 28% silt; 36% clay). The second factor was types of organic matter i.e. without organic matter, cow manure, sheep manure, and hevea leaf litter. The result showed that in both phases of experiment the best  soil texture types in increasing earthworm biomass and cocoon number of P.corethrurus was sandy loam, following with treatment on texture clay loam, and clay respectively. The best organic matter treatments in increasing earthworm biomass and cocoon number of P.corethrurus in phase 1 was sheep manure, cow manure, Hevea leaf litter, and without organic matter respectively. Application of sheep manure on sandy loam soil and application of sheep manure on clay soil had the same potency in increasing P.corethrurus biomass only in first phase experiment. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi mikroba pelarut fosfat dan berbagai sumber pupuk P serta interaksinya untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan P dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung (Zea mays L.) pada andisol terdampak eruspsi gunung sinabung. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini disusun dalan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dengan 3 ulangan Faktor I : mikroba  pelarut fosfat (M) dengan 3 taraf dosis (ml/10 kg BTKO): M0 (0), MB (Bulcholderia cepacia) (20), MF (Talaromices phinophylus) (20) dan Faktor II : sumber pupuk fosfat (P) dengan 4 jenis taraf (g/10 kg BTKO) yaitu: P0 (0), PS (3,18), PT (2,5) dan PR (4,1).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian mikroba pelarut fosfat berpengaruh nyata dalam meningkatkan pH tanah, Populasi mikroba, serapan P tanaman,dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Pemberian berbagai sumber pupuk fosfat  berpengaruh nyata dalam meningkatkan, serapan P tanaman, dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Interaksi antara mikroba pelarut fosfat dan berbagai sumber pupuk Fosfat  berpengaruh nyata dalam meningkatkan serapan P tanaman dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesuburan tanah pada lahan pertanian di Kecamatan Lumban Julu Kabupaten Toba Samosir dengan luas + 9.090 Ha. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode purposive sampling dengan 8 Satuan Peta Lahan. Penelitian ini dimulai pada Mei 2015. Analisis P tersedia dengan metode Bray I, C-Organic dengan metode Walkley and Black, N-total dengan metode Kjeldahl, pH dengan ekstraksi H2O  NH4OAc 1N pH 7, Na tukar NH4OAc 1N pH 7, Catukar NH4OAc 1N pH 7, Mg tukar NH4OAc 1N pH 7 and KTK dengan ekstraksi NH4OAc 1N pH 7. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pH dominan pada kriteria asam, C-Organic dominan pada kriteria sangat rendah, N-total dominan pada kriteria rendah, P tersedia dominan pada kriteria rendah, K tukar dominan pada kriteria tinggi, Na tukar dominan pada kriteria rendah, Ca tukar dominan pada kriteria rendah, Mg tukar dominan pada kriteria sangat rendah - rendah, KTK dominan pada kriteria rendah - sedang.Kata Kunci :Kesuburan Tanah, Lahan Pertanian, Lumban Julu

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the potential for a superior sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB) from  tested on acid sulfate soil with different water content. The research activities carried out in the Laboratory of Soil Biology and Green House of Faculty Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. The research used Randomized Block Design with 2 treatments : SRB isolate (control, LK4, LK6, TSM4, TSM 3, AP4,  AP3, LK4+TSM3, LK4+AP4, LK4+AP3, LK6+TSM3, LK6+AP4, LK6+AP3, TSM4+TSM3, TSM4+AP4, TSM4+AP3) and water condition (100% field capacity and 110% field capacity). The results shown application of  isolate LK4+AP4 with water condition 110% field capacity decreased the soil sulphate content (27,38 ppm) significantly after week 6.  Application of  isolate LK4+AP3 with water condition 110% field capacity increase soil pH (5,58) significantly after week 6. Application of  isolate LK4 with water condition 110% field capacity increase the plant growth (140 cm; 25,74 g) significantly after week 6. The best treatment was application isolate LK4 with water condition 110% field capacity (RBS population 2,5x108; soil sulphate content  29,10ppm; soil acidity 4,78; plant height 140cm; plant weight 25,74gr).   Keywords       : pH, Soil Sulphate Content, Sulphate Reducing Bacteria, Water Condittion.

Abstract

This research is aimed to describe soil phosphorus  and pottasium spread in 200 Cropping Intensity paddy field. Location in Tanjung Rejo village Percut Sei Tuan sub district Deli Serdang district, Laboratory of Geographic Information System Agriculture Department of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Laboratory of Soil Chemical and Indonesian Oil Palm Research Institute Laboratory. Soil sampling was done with free grid of storey level semi detail method. Parameters were soil phosphate (HCl 25%) and Soil Pottasium (HCl 25%) and questioner of paddy field. The data was analyzed with interpolation method. The result showed that soil phosphorus spread divided into two criteria’s, respectively medium and high. In the medium criteria was 0,7% of total area and for high criteria was 99,3% of total area with phosphate fertilizer recommendation is SP-36 75 kg / ha / season for medium P2O5 nutrient status and SP-36 50 kg / ha / season for high P2O5 nutrient status. While in soil pottasium spread divided into three criteria’s, the low criteria was 0,4% of total area, for medium criteria 23,7% of total area and for high criteria was 75,9% of total area. with pottasium fertilizer recommendation is KCl 50 kg / ha / season for low K2O nutrient status and no need to fertilized for medium and high K2O nutrient status. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the suitability of corn crop plant (Zea mays L.) and sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) in South Kualuh Subdistrict of North Labuhanbatu District. The method used in this research is survey method From the results of the overlay from the map of soil types, map of topography, and map of height place, retrieved 5 units of land use map. SPL 1 has an area of ​​34.95 hectares, SPL 2 has an area of ​​12.96 hectares, and SPL 3 has an area of ​​24.96 hectares, SPL 4 has an area of ​​159.85 hectares, and SPL 5 has an area of ​​73 hectares. The result at this research showed the highest potential of land suitability classes in set of land 1 is corn (S2 tc) and sweet potato (S2 tc, wa), in set of land 2 is corn (S2 tc) and sweet potato (S2 tc, wa), in set of land 3 is corn (S2 tc) and sweet potato (S2 tc , wa), in in set of land 4 is corn (S2 tc) and sweet potato (S2 tc, wa), in set of land 5 is corn (S2 tc) and sweet potato (S2 tc, wa).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) of fruits and its application on the N absorption and growth of mustard plant on ultisol soil. This study used a two-factor randomized group design with 3 replications. The first factor concentration of LOF with 4 levels ie P0 = 0ml LOF + 100ml water /polybag, P1 = 25ml LOF + 75ml water /polybag, P2 = 50ml LOF + 50ml water /polybag, P3 = 75ml LOF+ 25ml water /polybag, and the second factor of application of LOF with 3 levels that is B1= watered, B2= Sprayed, B3=½ watered and ½ sprayed. The results showed that giving LOF increases of soil pH by 5.78%, N absorption by 1.82 %; and number of leaves by 7.33%, wet weight by 1.47%, dry weight by 1.64%. The application method increases of soil pH by 7.05%, the number of leaves by 15.33%, and wet weight by 23.15%, dry weight by 2.39%, and N absorption by 9.87% and; The interaction of giving concentration of LOF and the application method increases of soil pH by 10.65%, and number of leaves by 37.52%, wet weight by 23.37% and dry weight by 4.86%, N absorption by 23.57 %. The best combination treatment is 75ml LOF + 25ml water and ½ watered + ½ sprayed.
