Abstract

Coffee plants need phosphorus nutrients for growth and fertilization in high quantities. Andisol has a verylow availability of P. Efforts that can be made to increase the availability of P are by utilizing phosphatesolvent microbes and coffee skin compost. The purpose of this study was to obtain the right type of microbialphosphate solvent and organic coffee skin ingredients in increasing the availability and growth of coffeeplants in Andisol affected by the eruption of Mt. Sinabung. This study used a factorial randomized blockdesign (RBD) consisting of 3 replications. Factor I: (Microbial Phosphate Solvents) M0 = Withoutapplication, M1 = Burkholderia cepacia, M2 = Talaromyces pinophilus, M3 = Burkholderia cepacia +Talaromyces pinophilus. Factor II Organic ingredients of coffee skin compost are K0 = without organicmatter, K1 = 75 g, K2 = 150 g, K3 = 225 g. The results of the study showed that B.cepacia + T.Pinophilus+ Mycorrhiza (M4) treatment can increase nutrient uptake of N, P and K of plants up to 12.3%, can increaseplant uptake of P up to 18.84%, increase uptake of plant K up to 19.53%. The treatment of 225g of coffeehusk compost (K3) can increase plant N nutrient uptake by 7.65%, plant P uptake to 26.11% and plant Kuptake up to 14.12%. M4K3 application can increase N uptake up to 53.28%, P uptake up to 98.56% andincrease K uptake of plants up to 56.45%. in general, the best treatment is M4K3.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of nitrogen levels, cellulolytic microorganisms and the interaction of both the aerobic decomposition rate of oil palm empty fruit bunches. The research was conducted at Home Compost STIP-AP Medan in April until July 2016. Research used a factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors and three replications. The first factor is the dose of nitrogen consisting of four levels i.e. N0 = without urea, N1 = dose of Nitrogen 2% of the dry weight of TKS which is 40% as much as 48 grams, N2 = dose of Nitrogen 4% of the dry weight of TKS which is 40% as much as 96 grams, N3 = Nitrogen dose of 6% of the dry weight of TKS which is 40% as much as 144 grams. The second factor is the cellulolytic microorganism isolates comprising four levels i.e. M0 = without cellulolytic microorganisms isolates, with isolates MOS M1 = 10 ml, M2 = isolate MOS 20 ml, isolate MOS M3 = 30 ml. From the research the effectiveness of multiple doses of nitrogen and cellulolytic microorganisms (MOS) on the rate of decomposition of oil palm empty fruit bunches can be deduced as follows, namely addition of nitrogen dose was able to reduce levels of C/N was 76.4% of the levels of C/N beginning. The best treatment is contained in N3 treatment. Addition of Microorganisms treatment cellulolytic (MOS) is able to reduce levels of C/N as much as 74.6% of the levels of C/N beginning. The best treatment is contained in M3 treatment. Interaction between giving treatment cellulolytic microorganisms Nitrogen and reducing levels of C/N as much as 79.4%. Interaction best treatment there in treatment N3M3.

Abstract

Nursery is the beginning of the process to reach optimum production, so proper treatment is necessary. To reduce side effects on the environment and higher fertilizing costs, we employ mycorrhyza that is expected to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the production process. The purpose of this research is to understand the effects of mycorrhyza application on the vegetative growth of palm oil at the main nursery. This research is using non-factorial Randomized Completely Block Design with 4 (four) treatments and six repetitions that used 24 samples by observing the growth of the tree trunk, its diameter, and number of leaves. The last observation was conducted to know the degree of mycorrhyza infection in every treatment. The results showed that mycorrhyza application had no significant effect on the growth of the plant and trunk diameter, but it has very significant effect on the growth of the leaves at the last week. The more significant result was observed at M3 with 75 gram dosage. The infection degree at the end of the research showed a very significant effect with average value of 6.00 at M3 compared to M1 with 4.00 value. Keywords: mycorrhyzae, oil palm, main mursery

Abstract

Azolla sp merupakan tanaman yg serbaguna dan sangat bermanfaat bagi petani, banyak media yg digunakan untuk pertumbuhannya dan memberikan hasil yg mememuaskan, tetapi belum dapat diketahui mana media yg terbaik bagi Azolla sp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui media tumbuh terbaik dari jenis IRRI, pupuk NPK, pupuk kandang ayam, pupuk kandang kambing, dan pupuk kandang sapi pada pertumbuhan Azolla sp mycropylla dan Azolla sp pinnata, dan pH media , Kandungan C-Organik dan Kadar N pada Azolla sp microphylla dan Azolla sp pinnata. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan daua faktor perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama jenis Azolla sp dengan 2 jenis Azolla sp (Azolla sp microphylla dan Azolla sp pinnata), faktor kedua media pertumbuhan dengan 5 jenis (media IRRI, pupuk NPK, pupuk kandang ayam, pupuk kandang kambing dan pupuk kandang sapi). Media pertumbuhan terbaik pada Azolla sp adalah pada Azolla sp mycrophylla dengan media pupuk kandang ayam. Parameter yang diukur adalah berat basah biomassa Azolla sp, laju pertumbuhan relatif, pH, C-Organik, dan Kadar N. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jenis Azolla sp berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan relatif, berat basah biomassa Azolla sp, dan kadar N dengan rataan tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan A1 yaitu jenis Azolla sp microphylla, pemberian jenis media berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan relatif, berat basah Azolla sp, C-Organik dan kadar N dengan rataan tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam, serta pH dengan rataan tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi dan pemberian kombinasi jenis Azolla sp dan jenis media berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan relatif, berat basah Azolla sp, serta C-Organik dengan rataan tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan A1M3 yaitu Azolla sp microphylla dengan pupuk kandang ayam.

Abstract

Tanaman porang merupakan tanaman semak (herba) yang mempunyai prospek sebagai bahan pangan alternatif dan memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi. Umbi tanaman porang yang merupakan bagian yang dimanfaatkan memiliki kandungan polisakarida (glukomanan) yang tinggi dapat digunakan sebagai sumber pangan. Tanaman porang juga sudah banyak dimanfaatkan di bidang industri dan kesehatan. Salah satu kendala dalam budidaya tanaman porang yaitu minimnya informasi dan teknik budidaya yang baik bagi tanaman porang terutama pada fase pertumbuhan vegetatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemberian fungi mikoriza arbuskula (FMA) Glomus sp. dan zat pengatur tumbuh giberelin terhadap pertumbuhan fase vegetatif tanaman porang pada tanah Ultisol. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Dusun V Desa Telaga Sari Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa Kabupaten Deli Serdang, dimulai pada bulan Februari sampai dengan Juli 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan 3 ulangan yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu perlakukan dosis Glomus sp. (M0 = 0 g/tanaman, M1 = 10 g/tanaman, M2 = 20 g/tanaman dan M3 = 30 g/tanaman) dan perlakuan konsentrasi giberelin (G0 = 0 ppm, G1 = 50 ppm, G2 = 100 ppm dan G3 = 150 ppm). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Glomus sp. dengan dosis 20 g/tanaman memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman porang yaitu meningkatkan bobot umbi sebesar 21,48 g, serapan hara P sebesar 36,19 mg/tanaman dan derajat infeksi akar sebesar 50% atau masing-masing lebih tinggi 93,17%, 42,59% dan 650% dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Aplikasi giberelin berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman porang dan derajat infeksi akar oleh mikoriza di mana infeksi akar tertinggi sebesar 42,50% justru terjadi pada perlakuan tanpa pemberian giberelin.
