Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of empowering leadership on innovation behavior mediated by organizational commitment in six basic service OPDs within the scope of the North Maluku Provincial Government. The research method uses a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling analysis techniques based on Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) using the SmartPLS 4.0 application. The research sample consisted of 137 ASN respondents in six basic service OPDs, including the Social Service, the Health Service, the Education and Culture Service, the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, the Housing and Settlement Area Service, and the Pamong Praja Police Unit. The results showed that empowering leadership had a positive and significant effect on innovation behavior (t-statistic 2.805; p-value 0.005). Empowering leadership also has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment (t-statistic 3.897; p-value 0.000). Organizational commitment has been proven to have a positive and significant effect on innovation behavior (t-statistic 5.517; p-value 0.000). Furthermore, organizational commitment significantly mediated the relationship between empowering leadership and innovation behavior (t-statistic 4.172; p-value 0.000). These findings make a theoretical and practical contribution to the development of leadership strategies in the public sector to improve the innovative behavior of employees through strengthening organizational commitment.

Abstract

Background: Prenatal exercise is believed to enhance third-trimester sleep quality in expectant mothers, promoting physical well-being and preparing them for childbirth. This study aimed to analyze the effect of prenatal exercise on sleep quality in pregnant women during the third trimester. Methods: This study is quantitative and quasi-experimental, employing a non-randomized one-group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted at the Marista Sinaga Midwife Practice, Simpang Talas, Siak Regency, Riau Province, in 2024. The research was conducted in June 2024. The subjects of this research were all third-trimester pregnant women who presented for treatment at the Marista Sinaga Midwife Practice; a total of 30 participants were recruited through purposive sampling. The intervention in this study was prenatal exercise. Pre-and posttests assessing sleep quality were administered before and after the prenatal exercise. Sleep quality was measured using a questionnaire. The data analysis stage began with calculating the frequency distribution of respondent characteristics and the mean sleep quality score. Data analysis used a paired t-test because the data were normally distributed. Results: The average sleep quality score before the intervention was 3.93; after the intervention, through prenatal exercise, it increased to 8.50. Prenatal exercise significantly affected sleep quality in pregnant women in the third trimester (p = <0.001)Conclusion: Prenatal exercise significantly affects sleep quality in pregnant women in the third trimester

Abstract

Nutritional problems among primary school children remain a significant public health concern, particularly in the context of the dual burden of malnutrition. This study aimed to examine changes in students’ nutritional knowledge following a school-based healthy plate education intervention. A quasi-experimental pre–post design without a control group was implemented among 63 students from grades IV to VI. The intervention integrated visual media, interactive instruction, and practical demonstrations based on the “My Plate” concept. Knowledge levels were assessed using structured pre-test and post-test instruments and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed a substantial shift in knowledge distribution, with the proportion of students in the “good” category increasing from 23.8% to 71.4%. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (Z = -5.543, p < 0.001), with a large effect size (r = 0.69). No participant experienced a decrease in score after the intervention. These findings indicate that school-based interactive nutrition education incorporating visual and experiential components can effectively enhance primary school students’ nutritional knowledge. Further longitudinal studies are recommended to assess the sustainability of behavioral changes.

Abstract

This research is focused on assessing the caliber of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures within sustainability reports, while also examining patterns of greenwashing activities in multinational corporations and firms in Indonesia. The research utilized the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, analyzing 31 articles indexed in Scopus and SINTA from 2020 to 2026. The review's findings indicate that a higher level of ESG disclosures does not necessarily signify a real enhancement in the execution of sustainable practices. Various studies point out discrepancies between details presented in the reports and the actual performance related to ESG, suggesting the likelihood of greenwashing. In comparison, multinational corporations generally produce more organized reports and align with international guidelines, although there remains a tendency for selective reporting. Conversely, Indonesian companies are making progress in sustainability reporting; however, the uniformity and thoroughness of disclosures across ESG areas, particularly environmental matters, still show inconsistencies. This research highlights that the quality of disclosures regarding thoroughness, fairness, consistency, and trustworthiness of information is more crucial than simply counting the indicators mentioned. These results add to knowledge concerning ESG and greenwashing and provide insights for regulators and stakeholders to enhance the clarity and reliability of sustainability reports.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of implementing ABM in enhancing cost efficiency within the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) sectors.Cost efficiency is a crucial issue because many MSMEs still face limitations in their accounting systems, distortions in overhead cost allocation, and suboptimal mapping of production activities, which affect the accuracy of strategic decision-making. This study uses a qualitative approach through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on scientific articles from 2020 to 2025 that discuss the implementation of ABM in the context of small and medium industries. The results of the synthesis indicate that ABM enhances cost efficiency by identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities, with potential cost savings ranging from 0.52% to 7.5%, depending on the complexity of costs and the organization’s level of readiness. In addition, ABM improves cost information accuracy, improves overhead allocation, and strengthens the basis for strategic decisions. However, there is a gap between theoretical potential and practice, especially in MSMEs with limited systems and technology
