Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between pain level and sleep quality with wound healing in postoperative ORIF patients. Methods: This study used a descriptive correlational design with a sample of 39 postoperative ORIF patients selected purposively. Participants were conscious, cooperative, had no history of diabetes, and were aged between 13–50 years. Instruments used to collect data included questionnaires on pain level, sleep quality, and wound healing. Results: Spearman Rank correlation test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) with an R value of -0.772, indicating a strong relationship between pain level and wound healing after ORIF surgery. Additionally, a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) with an R value of -0.789 indicated a fairly strong relationship between sleep quality and wound healing after ORIF surgery. Conclusion: There is a relationship between pain level and sleep quality with wound healing after ORIF surgery.

Abstract

Objective:  Pulmonary Tuberculosis is still a public health problem in many countries including Indonesia. The key to successful prevention of Pulmonary TB is the discovery of patients and treatment of patients until recovery. This study aims to identify determinant factors associated with the recovery of pulmonary TB patients at the Rejotangan Community Health Center, Tulungagung Regency.   Methods:  The research design used was quantitative with a cross sectional approach and analytic in nature. The study population was 47 patients, with a sample of 36 respondents selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis using the spearman test with a significance level of <0.05.   Results: showed that, there was no relationship between age and recovery of pulmonary TB, no relationship between gender and recovery of pulmonary TB, no relationship between nutritional status and recovery of pulmonary TB patients, there was a relationship between knowledge and recovery of pulmonary TB patients, there was a relationship between treatment compliance and recovery of pulmonary TB patients, there was a relationship between the presence or absence of PMO with the recovery of pulmonary TB patients. The results of the spearman test showed a significance value on knowledge (p value = 0.001), treatment compliance (p value = 0.006), PMO (p value = 0.002) which means there is a relationship with the recovery of pulmonary TB and the most dominant factor is the knowledge factor with strength (-0.517)   Conclusion: Spearman's test results showed an association between knowledge, medication adherence, and the presence or absence of PMO with TB cure. It is expected that patients can maintain knowledge about compliance in treatment according to the rules in order to avoid failure. Factor, Recovery, Pulmonary TB

Abstract

Background: Appendicitis is the most common cause of acute abdominal pain, typically managed through appendectomy. Postoperative pain is a major issue that affects patient recovery. Non-pharmacological interventions, such as finger hold relaxation and deep breathing techniques, are considered effective in reducing pain intensity. Objective: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of these two techniques. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with a two-group pre-test and post-test approach was used, involving 30 patients at Karsa Husada Batu Regional Hospital. The analysis used is the bivariate Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test and Mann Whitney U Test. Results: The results of the study showed that the level of anxiety before CA mammary surgery patients were given progressive muscle relaxation was 9(60%) seriously anxious and before the patients were given slow deep breathing 8(53.3%) were seriously anxious. After the intervention, 2 (13.3%) patients had the criteria for Severe Anxiety and in the slow deep breathing relaxation technique group 6 (40%) had the criteria for Severe Anxiety. Conclusion: Both techniques were found to be equally effective in reducing postoperative pain following appendectomy.
