Abstract

This research study aims to: 1) design audio-visual media for the teaching and learning process for junior high school science lessons and 2) use audio-visual media modules in the teaching and learning process for junior high school science lessons in suburb areas. The research method used is a type of research and development method or Research and Development (R&D). This research and development model uses stages that have been adapted through the stages of analysis, design, product development, and 4) validation (Borg and Gall, 1983: 772). The development stage begins with the production stage which produces the initial product, then validation is carried out by media experts, technology experts, and material experts and repeated validation after revision. The research data was obtained through instruments in the form of assessment sheets/validation by media experts, technological experts, and material experts which consisted of a number of assessment aspects. This study reports that 1) the design of audio-visual media for the teaching and learning process for junior high school science lessons has a very good level of feasibility (90, 29%) and 2) the module for using audio-visual media also has a very good level of feasibility (91, 14%). This research recommends that audio-visual media designs and audio-visual media use modules can be used in the science teaching and learning process at the junior high school level in suburb areas, especially in the subject of Food Digestion in Humans. Keyword: Research and Development, Audio-visual Media Design, Module Usage

Abstract

Disaster mitigation for early childhood involves introducing preparedness before and after a disaster to reduce vulnerability risks. The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of disaster education policies in early childhood education. This descriptive qualitative research employs interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research subjects include two teachers and the principal at PAUD IT Insan Madani Meukek, South Aceh. The findings indicate that the implementation of disaster mitigation education policies in early childhood education has been effectively operationalized, such consistent integration of disaster preparedness into curriculum activities and adequate training and support provided to educators. furthermore, the teachers role is critical as a planner, organizer, implementer, communicator, director, and facilitator in disaster mitigation education for early childhood. Additionally, according to Van Meter and Van Horn's policy implementation theory, the effectiveness of implementing disaster mitigation education in preschools is influenced by the clarity of policy objectives, availability of resources, inter-organizational communication, as well as the attitudes of the implementers.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to create an intelligent and religious young generation through the implementation of the Tutoring and Islamifest Program in Gampong Meunasah Krueng, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency. This program is designed to meet the community's needs to improve children's academic abilities and strengthen religious and moral values among adolescents. This service uses a descriptive qualitative approach with participatory methods, which include observation, interviews, and collection of activity documentation. Data were analyzed reflectively by involving students and the community as active participants in the program. The results showed significant progress in the participants' reading and arithmetic skills after participating in regular tutoring. Furthermore, the Islamifest activities, which included various Islamic competitions, thematic studies, and religious arts, successfully increased the spirituality, self-confidence, and social engagement of children and adolescents in the village environment. The community also actively contributed to the success of the program by providing learning facilities and continuing activities after the service through the formation of the "Rumoh Ilmu Meunasah Krueng" study group. This program has proven effective in integrating academic and spiritual aspects, while strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through community service activities that have a real impact on the community. Thus, the Tutoring Program and Islamifest can be used as an example of community-based service that focuses on character development, improving the quality of education, and strengthening religious values at the village level.

Abstract

Motivasi berprestasi merupakan suatu keinginan untuk menyelesaikan suatu usaha dengan tujuan mencapai keberhasilan dan berjuang hingga sukses. Namun yang terjadi di MTsN 3 Banda Aceh masih banyak siswa yang memiliki motivasi berprestasi yang rendah khususnya di kelas VIII hal ini dibuktikan dengan kurangnya usaha atau kemauan siswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan saat proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan motivasi berprestasi melalui penerapan teknik reinforcement pada siswa MTsN 3 Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksperimen dengan model One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. Sampel berjumlah 8 siswa yang didapat melalui teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan angket (kuesioner) untuk mengukur motivasi berprestasi siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t, hasil yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment menggunakan teknik reinforcement layanan konseling kelompok. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian didapatkan nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test yaitu sebesar 61.77 (pre-test) dan 88.37 (post-test), dari hasil tersebut diperoleh bahwa penerapan teknik reinforcement dalam meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi siswa berada pada kategori cukup efektif. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknik reinforcement melalui layanan konseling kelompok mampu meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi pada siswa MTsN 3 Banda Aceh.
