Abstract

The health condition of individual with schizophrenia (IWS) needs special attention because it shows a high number and has a bad impact on IWS and caregivers and families. Meanwhile, the handling of IWS takes a long time and causes the caregiver's self-defense to weaken and decrease. Purpose to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and the caregiver's ability to treat IWS. Method using a non-experimental quantitative research design with a cross sectional method. Sampling was done by total sampling with a total sample of 53 caregivers. Data was collected using a questionnaire on coping mechanisms and cognitive and psychomotor abilities and then analyzed by univariate and bivariate. Univariate analysis using frequency distribution, bivariate analysis using chi-square test. Mean age 41-60 years 69.8%; female 94.3%; high school education below 92.4%; caregiver working as a laborer 66%, relationship with IWS as a parent 66% and length of care >10 years 41.5%. As many as 64.2% of caregivers have adaptive coping mechanisms, caregivers know how to treat IWS 75.5% and are able to care for 54.5% quite well. Data analysis using chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between coping mechanisms and cognitive abilities (p-value 0.019), there was a relationship between coping mechanisms and psychomotor abilities (p-value 0.001). There is a relationship between caregiver coping mechanisms and the ability to care for IWS, caregivers need to get help to improve psychomotor abilities in providing care for IWS

Abstract

The objective of this descriptive study was to analyze students' grammatical errors in writing assignments, in this case writing a cover letter for second-semester Computer Science students at the University of Semarang. The target population included 21 Computer Science students enrolled in a Business English class chosen randomly from a pool of 50 participants. They were asked to write an application letter in English. Then, using the surface approach taxonomy, the researcher examined the students' writing for the following errors: 1. Omission Errors; 2. Addition Errors; 3. Misinformation Errors; and 4. Misordering Errors. The findings of this study show that student errors range from the most common to the least common, with a total of 67 phrases: (1) Omission 38.8%, (2) Misinformation on Sub-Alternating Forms 23.8%, (3) Addition on sub-Simple Addition 22.3%, (4) Misinformation on sub-Alternating Forms 8.9%, (5) Addition to sub double markings 2.9%, (6) Misinformation to sub regularization 2.9%. The errors in the Addition type (sub-regularization) and Misinformation categories do not appear at all (0%). Abstract

Complaint as a communicative act can be divided into two categories. First, as a face threatening act when it is uttered directly, second, it becomes a politeness when it uses indirectness. This research is explanatory research which tries to explain why complaint can have many different strategies. For data collection, the writer used purposive sampling taken from Twilight novel written by Stephani Meyer, but the writer chose Bahasa Indonesia version. While for analyzing the data, the writer used substitution method with social context consideration. From the data analysis, it is found that complaint is always a face threatening act when it is used directly.

Abstract

Stress is a mental emotional disorder faced by a person due to pressure. Such pressure arises from the failure of individuals to fulfill their needs or wants. The pressure felt by someone can come from within or from outside of themselves. Individuals who experience stress need proper management, so as not to cause further harmful effects. One of the stress management method is by providing 5-finger technique therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the 5-finger technique on the high school students’ stress level in Semarang. This study used a Quasi-Experiment Pretest-Posttest design without a control group. The instrument used was a 5-finger technique therapy worksheet, while the stress level was measured using the DASS-42 (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale). Approximately 90 respondents were chosen through simple random sampling and met the including criteria. The data analysis was conducted by using Mann Whitney statistical test, obtaining p-value <0.05 (0.00) was obtained with a decrease in the respondents’ stress level. The results showed that the 5-finger technique reduced the respondents’ stress level.

Abstract

Masalah kesehatan jiwa ditemukan akibat tingkat kesejahteraan dan permasalahan ekonomi yang dihadapi oleh penduduk. Kondisi gangguan jiwa merupakan kondisi yang sangat serius karena mempengaruhi kualitas hidup penderitanya, menimbulkan beban sosial ekonomi yang tinggi, mengakibatkan kemiskinan, kehilangan produktifitas, dan disintegrasi keluarga. Gangguan jiwa merupakan sindrom atau pola perilaku, atau psikologis seseorang yang secara klinik bermakna, dan secara khusus berkaitan dengan suatu gejala penderitaan (distress) atau hendaya (disability) atau secara bermakna meningkatnya risiko merasa sangat menderita, merasa sakit, kecacatan, atau kehilangan arti penting dari kebebasan. Disfungsi yang terjadi dapat berupa disfungsi dalam segi perilaku, psikologik, biologik dan gangguan itu tidak semata-mata terletak di dalam hubungan antara orang itu dengan masyarakat. Meningkatkan kemampuan dan ketrampilan KKJ dalam penanganan masalah kesehatan jiwa melalui pendampingan berbasis masyarakat. Pentingnya melibatkan masyarakat karena pasien gangguan jiwa hidup di tengah masyarakat dan merupakan bagian dari masyarakat. Lingkungan masyarakat ikut berperan dalam mewujudkan kestabilan dan kesembuhan pasien gangguan jiwa. Menggunakan pendekatan proses keperawatan yang terdiri dari pengkajian, perencanaan, tindakan keperawatan dan evaluasi, diharapkan mampu meningkatkan ketrampilan KKJ dalam penanganan gangguan jiwa. Kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan membentuk KKJ, memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan praktik pelaksanaan deteksi pada KKJ. Terdeteksinya kondisi kesehatan jiwa masyarakat dengan teridentifikasinya 40 orang pasien gangguan jiwa. Adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan KKJ setelah dilakukan pendampingan sebagai upaya penatalaksanaan kesehatan jiwa di Puskesmas S dengan rata-rata hasil pretest 40 dan hasil posttest 85. Diharapkan KKJ mampu melakukan penatalaksanaan awal masalah kesehatan jiwa setelah pendampingan agar tidak menjadi kasus gangguan jiwa.

Abstract

AbstrakMahasiswa tingkat akhir diwajibkan menulis skripsi, dan dalam skripsi tersebut pasti ada bagian abstrak sebagai sinopsis atau ringkasan dari keseluruhan isi skripsi. Abstrak adalah bagian terpenting yang harus ada pada setiap tulissan karya ilmiah karena abstrak memberikan informasi secara singkat namun lengkap mengenai suatu tulisan karya ilmiah, misalnya tujuan penelitian, metode yang digunakan, hasil dan kesimpulan penelitian. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mahasiswa adalah format abstrak yang mereka tuliskan seringkali tidak sesuai kaidah. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan penulisan abstrak kepada para mahasiswa tingkat akhir Fakultas Hukum Universitas Semarang tentang bagaimana menulis abstrak yang baik, baik dalam Bahasa Indonesia maupun Bahasa Inggris, karena berdasarkan hasil pengamatan awal dari sembilan abstrak yang menjadi pembahasan hanya dua abstrak saja yang bisa dikatakan sesuai dengan format penulisan abstrak. Melalui metode ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik, hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan pemahaman mahasiswa dalam menulis abstrak meningkat terutama dalam format penulisan abstrak. Jenis kalimat yang digunakan dalam membuat abstrak pun beragam, mulai dari kalimat sederhana sampai pada kalimat majemuk.  Kata Kunci: abstrak, pelatihan, mahasiswa tingkat akhir

Abstract

AbstrakDalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini tim pengabdi menangkap permasalahan yang dihadapi para guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris, yaitu dibutuhkannya model pembelajaran yang atraktif, kreatif, dan menarik yang memicu peserta didik untuk berpartisipasi secara aktif di kelas dan menikmati proses belajar mengajar sehingga ketrampilan berbahasa Inggris mereka meningkat. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melatih ketrampilan peserta didik untuk berpikir kritis dan aktif dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas melalui media gambar berseri.Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode ceramah dan diskusi, serta praktik. Metode ceramah adalah dengan memberikan penjelasan mengenai manfaat media gambar berseri dan bagaimana menggunakan gambar berseri dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Setelah para peserta didik dibekali dengan berbagai informasi tentang media gambar berseri, mereka dipandu untuk melakukan praktik bercerita.Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan partisipasi aktif dari tiap kelompok peserta didik ketika melakukan sesi diskusi. Kegiatan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di dalam kelas menjadi lebih menarik dan atraktif. Para peserta didik saling memberikan komentar terhadap cerita yang dipresentasikan masing-masing kelompok. Penguasaan kosakata peserta didik juga lebih baik karena terbantu dengan adanya visual gambar. Secara umum penggunaan media gambar berseri dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris membantu peserta didik menjadi lebih partisipatif dan aktif di kelas.  Kata Kunci: ketrampilan berbicara; penguasaan kosakata; keaktifan peserta didik; gambar berseri    AbstractIn this community service activity, the service team captures the problems faced by English teachers, namely the need for an attractive, creative, and interesting learning model that triggers students to actively participate in class and enjoy the teaching and learning process so that their English skills increase. The purpose of this community service is to train students' skills to think critically and be active in learning English in the classroom through sequencing picture media.The method used in this community service is the lecture and discussion method, as well as practice. The lecture method is to provide an explanation of the benefits of using sequencing pictures and how to use it in learning English. After the students were provided with various information about this media, they were guided to practice storytelling.The results of this community service activity show the active participation of each group of students when conducting discussion sessions. English learning activities in the classroom become more interesting and attractive. The students give each other comments on the stories presented by each group. Students' vocabulary mastery is also better because it is helped by the presence of visual images. In general, the use of picture series media in learning English helps students to be more participative and active in class.  Keywords: speaking skill; vocabulary mastery; students activeness; sequencing picture

Abstract

Elementary school (SD) is the most basic level of formal education in Indonesia. Students in elementary schools are students who are not only classified in the concrete operation stage but also children at the age of playing, so that some subjects still require material explanation from a teacher. In delivering the material requires a media as a means to transmit messages from sender to recipient of the message. Mathematics is a subject that requires media in delivering its material. Abstract mathematical concepts make it difficult for students to understand the material, especially mathematics combined with English in its delivery, so it is very important media in learning. This is the background of the community service team to provide training in making English-based mathematics learning media for teachers at SD IT Al Mawadah Semarang. This activity was held at SD IT AL Mawadah Semarang by lecturing method and hands-on practice. There were 13 participants in this training, all of whom were elementary school teachers in grades one to three. The activity lasts for 1 day with a duration of 3 hours.The training on making English-based mathematics learning media has a positive impact for teachers at SD IT Al Mawadah Semarang. So that the media can be used for offline and online learning

Abstract

Statistics is the basis for studying other subjects in the Informatics Engineering Study Program. However, some lecturers have not used teaching materials such as interactive modules to help students learn statistics. For this reason, research is needed which aims to (1) develop literacy-based Flipbook-assisted interactive e-modules in statistics courses that are valid, (2) determine the practicality of literacy-based Flipbook-assisted interactive e-modules in statistics courses for students. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The research subjects were 30 Informatics Engineering students taking Statistics courses. The development steps in this research are using ADDIE, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research results obtained: 1) the literacy-based flipbook-assisted e-module that was developed was declared valid/feasible with an average percentage of material experts of 80% and media experts of 85.41%, 2) the flipbook-assisted interactive e-module that was developed met the criteria practically with a percentage reaching 75%.
