Abstract

The Semantok Dam was built with extreme classified risk factors. These conditions require a more detailed review of its stability with the imposition of Operationing Basic Earthquake (OBE) at the 200-year return period, as well as the imposition of Maximum Design Earthquake (MDE) at the 10000-year return period. This study aimed to determine the response of the dam due to the earthquake load in addition to the influence of pore pressure values under rapid drawdown conditions. Results of analysis using load Maximum Design Earthquake (MDE) of 0.6 g show a significant effect on the slope stability of the dam. In these conditions, there is a failure in maintaining the dam slope stability. Further examination for permanent deformation due to the influence of the earthquake load still meets the required criteria.

Abstract

Expansive soil has a high swelling and shrinkage ability which can damage the buildings above it. Glagahagung Village, Purwoharjo District, Banyuwangi Regency is one of the areas suspected of having this type of soil. Residents often experience problems in their residential buildings every year, such as cracks in floors, walls, columns, and beams. Several methods can be used to improve expansive soil, including physical and mechanical stabilization. In this study, lime and cement were used as physical stabilizers. On the other hand, sand is used as a mechanical stabilizer. Physical and mechanical parameters will be observed in the stabilization process. Based on the three stabilizers, a 5% cement mixture can be the best alternative. Cement stabilizers can increase the maximum dry volume weight, reduce the rate of soil swelling, and change natural soils' classification from high plasticity clay to silty sand. Abstract

The provision of district infrastructure requires detailed planning in preparing programs and budgets to encourage the equitable distribution of human settlement infrastructure development. The government has issued guidelines for preparing the RPIJM to harmonize the development plan, spatial plan, and Strategic Development Area plan. However, many problems must be resolved and are not proportional to the APBD/APBN revenues; therefore, it is necessary to formulate an appropriate RPIJM to support sustainable development. In this study, the RPIJM preparation refers to (i) policy directions and infrastructure strategic plans as well as the region's existing conditions analysis; and (ii) the design of infrastructure development. The RPIJM preparation must be carried out prudently because it involves a large budget, program of the community essential activities in solving existing problems and in sustainable development, synchronized infrastructure development for local and national governments, and the risk of failure in the management of its implementation. The results of the RPIJM are a proposed plan for the financing of the human settlements development sector, which includes: (i) Residential Area Development; (ii) Building and Environmental Management; (iii) Development of Drinking Water Supply Systems; and (iv) development of residential environmental sanitation. Recommendations of the RPIJM are compiled in the memorandum of the medium term program in human settlements, which outlines scenarios for district development in the publoc work-human settlements sector, proposals for investment based on needs, achievement targets by regional development goals and objectives, mechanisms of funding, handling priority, and investment program implementation. Keywords: RPIJM, sustainable development, development program, development funding

Abstract

The land collapsed on Jl. Sultan Agung, Jompo, Jember Regency was reported. A team from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) found cracks in the ground under a shop since February 2019. This incident resulted in a landslide of a road with approximately 45 meters long and 10 meters wide that it blocked the river flow, and nine shophouses, which are the assets of the Jember Regency government, collapsed as deep as approximately 4 meters. The cantilever type retaining wall is designed in the landslide area as an effort to revitalize the banks of Jompo river on Jalan Sultan Agung. Cantilever wall design stability refers to SNI 8460: 2017 and was assisted by using the GEO 5 program. The stability of cantilever walls against overturning shows a safety factor value of 3.72 that greater than 2 (safe condition), whereas the stability of cantilever walls against sliding was 1.61 that greater than 1.5 (safe condition), and the stability of the bearing capacity was 8.18 that greater than 3 (safe condition). Cantilever wall structure using concrete quality (Fc ') 40 MPa, and reinforcement quality (Fy) 420 Mpa, with a diameter and a distance of 25 mm and 125 mm respectively. Additional reinforcement was given to the Cantilever Wall, i.e. a bore-pile with a diameter of 60 cm which was fixed to a depth of 6 meters.

Abstract

The use of private transportation modes to the Tegal Boto campus, Jember University has increased. The increase in the volume of private vehicles will cause congestion if it is not regulated properly. Therefore, an analysis related to the selection of student transportation modes is needed to determine the tendency of students to choose transportation modes. The results of this study will be used as a first step in the improvement of transportation facilities in the area around the Tegal Boto campus, Universitas Jember. Analysis of the factors that influence students in choosing the mode of transportation will be carried out in this study. In addition, the priority of choosing the mode of transportation used by students to the Tegal Boto campus, Jember University will also be known. Research data will be obtained from questionnaires and documents from the University of Jember. The data will be analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results of the AHP analysis show that the factors that dominate the choice of student transportation modes to the Tegal Boto campus, Jember University are the time factor (33%). Meanwhile, the student's priority modes of transportation are motorbikes (32.7%). The choice of motorcycle mode has the largest percentage due to it is based on consideration of the time factor. Students need transportation modes that have high flexibility such as motorbikes so that the time needed to reach campus is shorter.

Abstract

A reinforced concrete type retaining wall was built in 2017 to strengthen the slope stability of Rembangan highway, Jember Regency, Indonesia. However, in 2018 the building was damage. Until now, the cause of the failure of the retaining wall is still unknown. This study aims to evaluate the causes of the failure of retaining walls and the stability of retaining walls on the slopes of the Rembangan highway, Jember Regency. The research methodology begins with primary and secondary data collection before processing the data using conventional methods and auxiliary software. After data processing, data analysis was carried out to find conclusions about the cause of the failure of the retaining wall. Result analysis showed that the retaining walls have a low level of safety factor for rolling stability, shear stability, and bearing capacity stability. In addition, the factor of safety for the bearing capacity of the group pile foundation as a reinforcement of retaining walls also shows a smaller value than that charged. In addition, the group pile foundation can suffer a total settlement of 1.28 m.

Abstract

The Badeng River, which is located in Songgon District, Banyuwangi Regency, has a discharge that often overflows, causing damage to the retaining wall and erosion of the riverbank slopes of the Badeng Dam area. This is a problem for local residents because the use of water becomes less than optimal and can increase the risk of flooding in the downstream area of the river. To prevent landslides on the river bank, slope stability analysis is carried out using a gravity type retaining wall that can withstand overturning, shearing forces, and is safe against carrying capacity and pays attention to drawdown. The drawdown analysis was modeled for 20 hours at the initial condition of the river water level receding towards flooding and then returning to its original condition.. Modeling is done with Geoslope studio. The results of the gravity wall stability analysis against drawdown are declared safe. When the river water level is higher, the slope safety factor value will increase. Otherwise, when the river water level decreases, the slope safety factor value will decrease. This happens because it is influenced by the ups and downs of the value of passive pressure given water to the slopes. The most critical safety factor condition occurs during low tide conditions because there is still residual river water entering the soil pores. Analysis of stability against overturning force, shear force, and safety against bearing capacity was also declared safe.

Abstract

The landslide occurred on the slopes of the Gandong Magetan River. The location of the river in the middle of the city caused landslides to almost reach people's homes. Efforts should to be made to improve slope stability so that it is safe against landslides. Slope stability analysis uses the LEM (Limit Equilibrium Method) with the Geoslope program. The results of the analysis of the slope stability of the existing conditions get the value of the safety factor of 0.379. Alternative reinforcement that is planned is the manufacture of counterweight slopes. Planning of counterweight slope embankment as many as 4 levels with a height of 3 m each level. The results of the counterweight slope stability analysis get a safety factor value of 0.507. The critical area is at the top of the slope so that soil nailing reinforcement is added. The results of the counterweight slope stability analysis with soil nailing and gabion reinforcement obtained a safety factor value of 1.507. So that the slope reinforcement plan is safe against landslides.
