Abstract

Agritourism is currently thriving as many modern visitors favor returning to rural nature over visiting metropolitan destinations. This evolving tendency might stoke locals' enthusiasm to start and develop agri-based tourism by using their farms, gardens, and other physical natural assets for both primary and secondary employment, such as by opening their properties up as agri-tourism destinations. These activities may improve the local population's ability to support themselves and their well-being as tourism has the potential to have multiplier effects. The growth of agritourism, however, might not be entirely dependent on a destination's natural or environmental resources. By using its cultural potential, it can instead be strengthened. The purpose of the research is to investigate how culture and community creativity can improve agritourism. The study is carried out at Lumbung Strawberry Tourism in Batu, Malang. The study finds that culture, when combined with natural resources, may support the growth of agritourism by enhancing the ethno-authenticity of the destination, highlighting its distinctiveness, communicating it, fostering locals' creativity, fostering innovation, boosting its popularity, and facilitating marketing. Along with utilizing its local rural agriculture, Lumbung Strawberry embraces the current of digital culture by creating destination Instagram accounts and offering locations for taking selfies and pictures.

Abstract

As a collection of individuals who work together to achieve organizational goals, the organization urgently needs glue which attaches all members. Existing studies find that organizational culture can be a means to provoke collectivism climate for influencing organizational performance. The study aims to examine the potential capacity of organizational rituals of arisan and picnic in evoking organizational social cohesion, from the perspective of organizational members. Furthermore, it aims to explore the other possible functions of organizational culture. The data are collected from co-reflection by using certain reflection guidance. The study finds that organizational arisan or picnic can potentially benefit members. It provides opportunities for members to share happy moments, face challenging activities together, forget their conflict and replace it with new happy experiences. However, this ritual does not always bring genuine happiness. It may keep silent storm of emotion as the ritual can exert social pressure, display dominant social status, reinforce power of giving which acquire needs to get back (return the kindness). The study also reveals the emergent co-rituals which are created or joined by in-group members. Co-exist rituals allow members to fit their individual-group dimensions with less social pressure, build stronger emotional bond and support. However, this too strong emotional tie may ignite inter-group conflict and high competition with other groups.

Local heritage culture is an invaluable asset. It is not just establishing an identity that distinguishes one community apart from another. The local culture has recently been recognized as a resource that can help improve the quality of life in the community. Tourism is one of the many ways to improve the quality of life for the local population while preserving the local culture. The goal of this research is to investigate how a local community uses local tourism to preserve their culture. The study is carried out in Among Budoyo, Desa Wage. One local community member who actively manages the tourist destination serves as the key informant. The study uses a qualitative approach. Direct observation and semi-structured interviews are used to collect the data. The study concludes that by enhancing the roles of human resources in fostering tourism, the local community maintains both their local culture and tourism. There are two primary methods used by local community of Desa Wage. The first is by expanding the roles and capabilities of community-based organizations to promote tourism and community development. Community-based organizations serve as a venue or channel for the local community to come together, engage, and share ideas that are beneficial. They also help to create working groups, network, collaborate with outside organizations, and start the process of empowerment. Developing the internal strength of the community is the second method. Abstract

Frequently, youth are stigmatized as troublemakers and immature groups. Thus, they still need to be educated, nurtured, and supervised, especially in this millennial era. In spite of the negative label attributed to youth, youth are potential community educators, especially in this digital world. Their natural interest in social media and technology can be an investment to engage them in community education through digital works. This study aims to explore educational aspects that several young students emphasize and educate to their online peers and digital community through their digital works creation which they upload on YouTube. The study adopts qualitative methods and employs thematic analysis to examine 50 uploaded videos. The study reveals that digital works can be media for youth to educate character, non-violence, and environmental-health education to their peers and other communities. This also encourages youth to learn to be active and responsible citizens, undertake direct experiential learning processes, enhance their social media responsibility, provide role models for others, promote community well-being, and alleviate negative youth stigma.

Abstract

This study aims to examine muzakki’s intention to utilize Financial Technology (Fintech) platforms for paying zakat by investigating the behavioral and psychological determinants. The research integrates the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), with a particular emphasis on prosocial motivations and perceived risk factors. This study uniquely expanded the view of perceived risk variables, including psychological, legal, and time risks, by integrating altruism and empathy as prosocial constructs into a single framework. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a structured questionnaire distributed to 150 purposively selected respondents. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationships between the variables. The findings reveal that perceived altruism and empathy significantly influence muzakki’s intention to adopt fintech for zakat contributions. In contrast, perceived risk—which encompasses aspects such as privacy, legality, time, psychological burden, and security—does not have a significant effect on the intention to use fintech for zakat. These results suggest that emotional and social motivations are stronger predictors of digital zakat payment adoption than perceived risk. Therefore, zakat institutions and fintech developers are advised to focus on building trust and emphasizing the altruistic and empathetic values of zakat in their platforms, as this effort is expected to strengthen the development of a sharia-compliant digital financial ecosystem and contribute to achieving social goals, such as poverty alleviation and reducing inequality.
