Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of PhET Simulation Circuit Contruction kit media to remediate misconceptions of grade XII students of Senior High School. St. Benedict Pahauman on the material of direct current electric circuit. The method used is pre experimental design with one group pretest posttest design. Data taken from the students of class XII IPA 2 selected by intact group. The sample is 33 students. The data collection tool consists of 10 multiple choice questions with three alternative answers with an open reason. Based on data analysis, the highest student misconception profile was obtained when the pre-test was obtained (97%). The highest student misconception profile at the time of post-test was obtained (78,78%). Based on the calculation of the McNemar test, the mean of X ^ 2 count (6,249)> X ^ 2tabel (3,84) for db = 1 and α = 5% then there is a significant change of conception. Based on the calculation of effect size obtained score 0.4574 (moderate category) that remediation using PhET Simulation effective to remediate student misconception about material direct current electric circuit. This research is expected to be an alternative for teachers in implementing remediation to overcome student misconception. Keywords: Remediation, Misconception, PhET Simulation, Circuit Construction Kit, Direct Curren Electric Circuit.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to find out the effect of discovery learning towards students’ learning result about vibration  in class XI SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak. It is a quasi experimental with the design of  non-equivalent control group design. There are 25 students of class XI TEI A as the control class and 26 students of class XI TOI as the experiment class and are determined with  purposive sampling. Based on scoring test, average score of the posttest from experiment class is obtained as 73,43, higher than control class with the average of 61,28. Based on the U-Mann Whitney test result, the sig value of 0,000>0,05, that means the Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a sig to the model of discovery learning. An effect size of 1,08 is obtained belonging to category high, its mean that the discovery learning model is effective towards scoring test about vibration in class XI SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak according to Coe.Keywords: Discovery Learning, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted with the intention of helping the teacher in creating a learning material on optical devices based on learning technology centered on students through the ASSURE model. The ASSURE model has an extension Analyze lerner characteristics, State performance objectives, Select Methods, media, and materials,  Utilize materials, Requere learner participation, Evaluate and revise. To determine the development process of learning tools based on ASSURE models on the optical tools material to achieve learning objectives and determine the level of feasibility based on the questionnaire to the teachers. In its development using the development based on the development theory of Borg and Gall which is limited as follow 7 initial stages, namely; 1) potential problems; 2) information gathering; 3) product design; 4) design validation; 5) design revision; 6) manufacturing of products; and 7) limited trial. Based on the data analysis, the result showed that RPP developed was declared feasible with the format and arrangement of RPP (92%), RPP content (87%), and RPP reflecting ASSURE learning steps (96%) with very high validation criteria 81% - 100%. In the future, it is expected that the development of learning tools using the ASSURE model in other materials. Keywords: Development, ASSURE Model, Telescope, Learning Devices

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Remediasi, Miskonsepsi, Inkuiri Terbimbing, Animasi Flash,  Perpindahan Kalor Abstrack: The aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model using assisted by flash animation in remedied students’ misconceptions about heat transfer subject of class X in SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to determine the effectiveness of Think Pair Share (TPS) learning models to reducing students' misconceptions about straight-line motion with constant velocity (GLB) in grade 7th of SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Raya. This research used pre-experiment design method with one group pre-test post-test design. Intact group was used as sampling technique with number of sample is 28 students. Data collected using measurement technique by collecting the results of pre-test and post-test. The research found that students experienced misconceptions on all indicators. There was a significant change in the number of misconceptions before and after remediation using the TPS learning model (Wilcoxon Test analysis results). There was a significant change in the indicators of identification of GLB characteristics, while there is no significant change in the indicators of differences in distance and displacement in one-dimensional motion and two-dimensional motion, differences in speed and velocity, definition of GLB, and determining the v-t graph in GLB (Mc Nemar Test analysis results). Remediation using TPS learning model effective to reducing students' misconceptions about GLB (ES = 1.41). This research expected to be used as reference for further research, especially alternatives in the selection of learning models. Keywords: Misconception, Remediation, Straight-Line Motion with Constant Velocity                 (GLB), Think Pair Share.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Model in remediating students’ misconception on the topic of Newton’s First Law in SMPN 3 Ketapang. This study was done in Pre-experimental method with one-group pre-test posttest design. The 29 sample were randomly chosen through intact group technique to the Class IX E students. The data collecting technique were 12 multiple choices questions for the pretest and postest to see the students’ misconception changes. From the analysis, the average percentage of students’ misconception before remediation given by using TGT Learning Model was 39,08%, while the average percentage of students’ misconception on the topic of Newton’s First Law after remediation given by using TGT Learning Model was 9,48%. The calculation of McNemar statistic test and Binomial test show that there is significant conceptual change of 5,93 point in each question answered by the students before and after the remediation. Based on the average value of proportion, ΔS = 0,75 was obtained with high effectiveness level. Therefore, remediating the students’ misconception by using TGT model on the topic of Newton’s First Law is effective in SMPN 3 Ketapang. Hopefully this result can be an alternative for the teacher in remediating students’ misconception on the topic of Newton’s First Law. Keywords: Misconception, TGT, Newton’s First Law Â
