Abstract

Nowadays environmental issues challenge the educational field to cultivate problem solving process and creative thinking skills in students. The objective of this research was to observe the problem solving process and creative thinking of students at State Senior High School in Klaten Regency in solving the ecosystem problem based on the academic ability (high, medium, and low). This research was qualitative which used think-aloud technique in which the subjects (S) were nine students chosen by using stratified random sampling technique. The data analysis used was triangulation. The problem solving process skill was scored from the students? thinking structure in tackling the problem served. Furthermore, the students? creative thinking ability was measured from the students? final results in coping ecosystem problem which then was scored based on the creative thinking skill rubric. The results showed that there were errors found in problem solving process of S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S8 and S9 due to their lack of background knowledge. Meanwhile, the errors resulted by S7 were caused of misconception. In addition, the students who had high, medium, and low academic abilities tended to have the creative qualifications as creative, medium, and less creative in sequence.

Abstract

Masyarakat Dusun Lemahireng memanfaatkan kain perca menjadi produk yang memilikinilai jual melalui usaha kerajinan keset kain perca. Keset yang dihasilkan masih sederhana baikdalam bentuk, motif maupun kombinasi warnanya. Pengemasan hasil produksi masihsederhana, tidak ada sistem pengemasan yang bagus, produk sebatas di tali per kodi. Kualitaskeset yang dihasilkan perlu ditingkatkan agar mampu bersaing dengan produk sejenis dipasaran. Penjualan produk dilakukan dengan menjual kepada para tengkulak yang datangsecara berkala.Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah pemberdayaan masyarakatmelalui pelatihan dan pendampingan, yang terbagi terbagi dalam tiga tahapan: 1). Sosialisas;2). Pelaksanaan Kegiatan: a. Pelatihan diversifikasi produk, b. Pelatihan pengemasan produk, c.Pengenalan digital marketing; dan 3). Monitoring dan Evaluasi.Peserta mendapatkan tambahan wawasan dan pengetahuan terkait dengan diversifikasiproduk kerajinan keset berbahan kain perca, pemanfaatan sosial media sebagai alternatifpemasaran produk, pentingnya branding dan kemasan terhadap produk yang hasilkan.Motivasi mitra untuk mengembangkan usaha kerajinan keset terlihat ada peningkatan,keinginan untuk menunjukkan identitas produk melalui branding mulai muncul. Usaha untukmemperluas pasar melalui penjualan online juga mulai dilakukan oleh anggota mitra.Pendampingan berkelanjutan dilakukan untuk menjaga konsistensi usaha dan untukmembantu mengatasi beberapa kendala yang mungkin muncul dalam perjalanan usaha mitra.

Abstract

ANALISIS POLA KOMUNIKASI SCIENTIFIC PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS  Abstract This research aims to study (1) the pattern of scientific communication in biology classes, and (2) the factors and reasons hinder the communication process during the learning process. This is a classroom observation conducted in two classes of grade XI Science of Gondangrejo High School, which were selected randomly. Fifty-five students participated, and two biology teachers had also been involved. The pattern of scientific communication was analyzed based on 10 times observations of both classes, then all communications recorded and analyzed based on VICS Flanders. The hindrances of communication were checked based on categorization introduced by Lunenburg, which consists of four: process, physics, semantic, and psycho social. The findings of the research shows that the pattern of communication is mostly balance between teacher and students, which is represented by region C G J K L M P R (52.43%). Whilst, the area of teacher's domination is 24.79% (A B D E F H I ), and the area of student’s domination scores 22.78% (N O S T). The pattern of scientific communication is two ways communication between teacher and students, but the frequency of student to initiate the communication remains low. The factors hinder the communication process are process barriers.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui (1) pola komunikasi scientific pada pembelajaran biologi; (2) penyebab kendala komunikasi di kelas biologi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasi kelas, yang dilakukan di dua kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri Gondangrejo yang dipilih secara acak. Siswa yang terlibat sejumlah 55 siswa, dan dua orang guru biologi juga menjadi partisipan. Data penelitian adalah proses komunikasi di dalam kelas yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi pembelajaran di dua kelas selama 10 kali kemudian seluruh komunikasi direkam dan dianalisa berdasarkan VICS Flanders. Kendala komunikasi dianalisis berdasarkan kategorisasi menurut Lunenburg (2010) yang terdiri 4 kategori, yaitu proses, fisik, semantik, dan psikososial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola komunikasi yang terjadi adalah pola komunikasi seimbang antara guru dan siswa, dibuktikan dengan persentase wilayah C G J K L M P R (52.43%). Adapun persentase wilayah dominasi guru adalah 24.79% (A B D E F H I), dan presentase dominasi siswa adalah 22.78% (N O S T). Pola komunikasi scientific yang terbentuk merupakan komunikasi dua arah, tetapi menunjukkan inisiasi komunikasi scientific siswa rendah. Abstract

This research aims to analyze integration of critical thinking skills in science learning using a blended learning system in elementary schools during covid-19 pandemic. Research case study qualitative with descriptive percentages. Collected data: observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaire. Validity data: source and techniques triangulation. Data analysis techniques using Miles & Huberman: collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The results of the research integration critical thinking skills in science learning using blended learning system low with (Mo<Md<Me). Mean = 14.10 is in a low category. The frequency distribution of the majority of 47.37% belongs to the low category. Percentage of indicators formulating problems 23.20%, analyzing arguments and solving problems 55.60%, evaluating 22.20%. Efforts (1) motivating ask questions during face-to-face and online learning. (2) High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) to analyzing problems relevant daily (3) Reading books related before learning. Features WhatsApp including video calls and voice notes can be used to maximize.

Abstract

Innovation in the food sector to support national development in alleviating hunger and creating a healthy and prosperous life can be carried out in various fields, one of which is education. The aim of the implementation of SUS-PDAT in this applied IPA learning is to give practical experience to students in the process of making red oncoms. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection is carried out through the study of literature from various sources, including national and international journals relevant to research topics. Research shows that by introducing food innovations like red oncom to students, it can raise awareness of the importance of healthy and sustainable food consumption in society. Besides, this learning can also be a source of inspiration for the younger generation to engage in the innovative and environmentally friendly food industry of the future. Therefore, red oncom is included in healthy food with affordable economic value. It is hoped that the red oncom innovation which has an umami taste can help the government in sustainable development for a healthy and healthy life without hunger.

Abstract

Waste burning smoke is very dangerous for the health of living things, so this needs to be minimized in order to maintain a healthy environment. Smokeless Burn Barrel is a simple tool specifically designed to minimize the smoke of burning waste. The purpose of writing this article is to build public awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental health, especially regarding the impact of smoke from burning garbage; provide knowledge as well as a demonstration of the Smokeless Burn Barrel tool as an alternative solution to minimize smoke from burning garbage using the Smokeless Burn Barrel; and find out about the difference between burning garbage in general by the community and the combustion process using the Smokeless Burn Barrel tool. The method that can be done is by conducting socialization and demonstration using the Smokeless Burn Barrel tool. The results that can be obtained show that the community knows about the impact of smoke from burning waste; knows the Smokeless Burn Barrel tool directly as an alternative solution to minimize smoke from burning waste; and knows the difference between burning waste in general by the community and the combustion process using the Smokeless Burn Barrel tool.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused all fields to face a situation that challenging. critical thinking skills must still be integrated into science learning with the situation because it is one aspect of 21st-century learning. An alternative to reducing face-to-face activities is that schools carry out mixed-system learning. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the integration of critical thinking skills in science learning using a blended learning system in elementary schools given the limitations in learning during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is a case qualitative research with descriptive proportion with a sample of 19 elementary school fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, questionnaires, and interviews. Triangulation of sources and techniques used to validate data. The results showed that critical thinking skills in elementary school science learning using a blended learning system are still relatively low with data (Mo<Md<Me), mean = 14.10, and the largest percentage distribution of 47.37%. The percentage of the majority of the questionnaires answered never with details on the aspects of formulating the problem52.63%, analyze arguments and solve problems 48.42%, evaluate 57.89%. In conclusion, the integration of critical thinking skills with blended learning systems in elementary schools in science learning still needs to be considered because there are still obstacles in its implementation. The results of this study have implications for finding solutions to improve critical thinking skills in science learning with blended learning system learning to be more effective. The recommendation in this study is that teachers are more creative in implementing blended learning system learning strategies for success critical thinking skills in learning science students can be achieved well.

Abstract

Reflecting the substance of the Preservice science teachers must have the ability to teach science appropriately. This ability is related to pedagogical and content knowledge. Teaching with inquiry is important in the development process of teacher professionalism. This is an urgency for preservice science teacher students to be equipped with teaching skills inquiry and the ability to reflect in learning. This research aimed to analyze the validity and practicality of the developed Inquiry Reflective Teaching (IRT) model; and to find the effectiveness of the IRT model in improving PCK. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method. The data collection techniques used were IRT model assessment, practicality questionnaire, and Pedagogical Content Knowledge test. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. Quantitative data analysis techniques were used to determine the validity and practicality categories of the IRT model. Qualitative data analysis techniques were utilized to analyze data in the form of suggestions from experts, practitioner lecturers, and preservice science teacher students. The results of this study showed that the validity assessment was in a ‘very valid’ category. Likewise, the results of the assessment of the practicality of the IRT model were categorized as ‘very practical’. The IRT model can effectively improve the PCK of preservice science teachers.

Abstract

Usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) berperan penting dalam perekonomian nasional maupun daerah. Salah satu produk khas yang menjadi identitas lokal di Kabupaten Kebumen adalah tahu Krakal dari Desa Krakal, Kecamatan Alian. Produk ini memiliki cita rasa unik, namun menghadapi kendala berupa daya simpan yang singkat dan keterbatasan promosi. Sebagian besar produsen hanya mengandalkan penjualan langsung dan promosi secara sederhana, sehingga jangkauan pasar belum optimal. Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Sebelas Maret kelompok 94 dilaksanakan untuk memberikan kontribusi melalui penguatan branding tahu Krakal. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan observasi dan wawancara bersama produsen. Hasil kegiatan meliputi pendaftaran rumah produksi ke Google Maps, pembuatan banner promosi, serta integrasi data produsen ke dalam website UMKM desa. Program ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan visibilitas produsen, memperkuat identitas produk, dan menumbuhkan kesadaran mengenai pentingnya branding digital. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini tidak hanya membantu pengembangan UMKM lokal, tetapi juga mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) poin 8 tentang pertumbuhan ekonomi inklusif dan poin 9 mengenai inovasi dan infrastruktur.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in Surakarta City through training in implementing the Deep Learning learning approach. Pedagogical competence includes the ability to understand student characteristics, design learning, and integrate technology to create a deep and enjoyable learning experience. The implementation method of this service included counseling, practice, and individual mentoring. The evaluation instruments used were pre-test and post-test which were analyzed descriptively. The results of this service showed that as many as 20 elementary school teachers in Surakarta showed an increase in the pedagogical ability of 45% in designing and implementing deep learning strategies that focus on critical thinking, creativity, and joyful learning. With the implementation of deep learning, especially joyful learning, teachers are able to create a dynamic and meaningful learning atmosphere for students.
