Abstract

The development of tourist villages aims to engage the community in the management of tourist destinations and improve their standard of living. The participation of the community, the authentic character of natural attractions, socio-cultural life, and the environment, referred to as local wisdom, provide opportunities for sustainable tourism development. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the interest of the local community in developing attractions, amenities, and tourist accessibility that are complex, flexible, and based on local wisdom, which is a key aspect of tourism development. One of the tourist villages that has diverse local wisdom is Samosir. This study aims to explore and understand the existence of local wisdom found in attractions as strategies for sustainable tourism development. This research is a descriptive-evaluative study with a qualitative approach. Data collection methods in the study were conducted through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with informants sequentially and using snowball sampling. Data analysis was carried out step by step, starting from data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Group discussions, triangulation of techniques, and sources were conducted to ensure data credibility. The results of the study indicate a number of local wisdom in the form of attractions that are very rare or even never done. Some cultural heritage is even in an unmaintained condition. The research emphasizes the necessity of increasing local community interest in developing attractions that are multifaceted and rooted in local wisdom. This approach is deemed essential for sustainable tourism development.

Abstract

Abstract: The global Covid-19 pandemic that hit every country in the world in 2020 has affected everyone's life. When the government enforces a policy of limiting activities to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the main impact on the economy that people rely on is almost all sectors in Indonesia. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a decline or slowdown in the economic sector in Indonesia. In order for SMEs in this sector to survive, they must be able to develop measures and strategies to improve the community's economy during the Covid-19 period in Langkat, Binjai, and Karo, and the purpose of this research is to help SMEs to improve from each product they produce, so that survive the pandemic. This study uses a comparative method of qualitative research methods, namely a qualitative approach that involves research procedures that produce descriptive information in the form of written or spoken language of individuals and observed behavior. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Qualitative analysis techniques were used for data analysis. This research uses source triangulation to get more accurate SMEs data. The results show that SMEs stakeholders need to implement the following strategies to survive the pandemic. This means using marketing through social media such as Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp in collaboration with online transportation service providers such as Go-Food and Grab-Food, innovation in their products.Keywords:  Strategy; Economy; Pandemic; SMEs.      Abstrak: Pandemi global Covid-19 yang melanda setiap negara di dunia tahun 2020 sudah telah mempengaruhi kehidupan setiap orang. Ketika pemerintah memberlakukan kebijakan pembatasan kegiatan untuk menekan penyebaran virus Covid-19, dampak utama terhadap perekonomian yang tumpuan masyarakat hampir terjadi di semua sektor di Indonesia. Apalagi, pandemi Covid-19 yang mengakibatkan turunnya atau memperlambat dalam sektor ekonomi di Indonesia. Agar UKM di sektor ini dapat bertahan, mereka harus mampu mengembangkan langkah dan strategi peningkatan perekonomian masyarakat pada masa  Covid-19 di Langkat, Binjai, dan Karo, dan tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membantu UKM dapat meningkatkan dari setiap produk yang mereka hasilkan, sehinga dapat bertahan di tengah Pandemi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode komparatif metode penelitian kualitatif, yaitu pendekatan kualilatif yang melibatkan prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan informasi deskriptif dalam bentuk bahasa tertulis atau lisan individu dan perilaku yang diamati. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis kualitatif digunakan untuk analisis data. Penelitian ini dilakukan  menggunakan triangulasi sumber untuk mendapatkan data UKM yang lebih akurat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemangku kepentingan UKM perlu menerapkan strategi berikut untuk bertahan dari pandemi. Artinya menggunakan pemasaran melalui media sosial berupa Instagram, Facebook dan WhatsApp bekerjasama dengan pihak penyedia jasa transportasi online seperti Go-Food dan Grab-Food, inovasi dalam produk mereka.Kata Kunci:  Strategi; Perekonomian; Pandemi; UKM.

Abstract

The Perlis village is an oceanside community with abundant marine natural resources. However, the local economy needs to be better structured, contributing to the village's reputation as impoverished and undeveloped. As a result, the village's fishermen earn very little money, which is a shame because the village should be considered prosperous, particularly in the fishing industry. The researchers in this study set out to answer two questions: how can the people of Perlis Village enhance their economy? And second, what steps can they take to protect the sea and its marine biota so that they can use it to their advantage? They used a descriptive qualitative research approach to answer these questions and scoured academic journals, books, statistics, and BPS Langkat Regency for information. They then conducted in-depth interviews and observations with five fishermen and three UMKM seafood representatives. Data analysis by description to understand the field's, market's, and village's status; data validity through source triangulation through comparison with other sources. Based on the findings, the people of Perlis Village have improved their economic situation by implementing strategies that use marine products. These include increasing their fish catches, turning seawater into salt, creating shrimp paste artisans, making salted fish from unsold fish, and managing mangrove tourism. The plan implemented by the residents of Perlis Village has the potential to enhance the economic situation in Perlis Village.

Abstract

The coronavirus forces us to keep our distance and stay away from crowds which has an impact on children's learning methods. Furthermore, the government gives an appeal to do promotions at home or on the web. Web-based learning will find that is completed online by utilizing a web network where web-based learning affects student profits in learning. Students' interest in learning at the beginning of covid in 2019 - 2020 children did not have interest in learning, but once face-to-face 50% of students' interest in learning slowly increased and after 100% face-to-face it was much different from the time of covid compared to the period before covid which greatly decreased. This study aims to determine the effect of web-based learning on learning abilities during the COVID-19 pandemic in adolescents in Kelurahan Pabatu, Kecamatan Padang Hulu, Kota Tebing Tinggi. This exploration uses subjective examination with an interview, perception, and documentation techniques. The results of the study show that the impact of learning on students during online learning is the decline in children's learning abilities and some even cannot read and count in grade 3.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji keterlibatan masyarakat dalam upaya penanggulangan banjir di Kecamatan Datuk Bandar, Kota TanjungBalai .Permasalahan utama yang ditemukan adalah keterbatasan partisipasi warga dalam mitigaasi banjir, yang cenderung bersifat reaktif dan tidak berkelanjutan .Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk partisipasi masyarakat, dampaknya terhadap banjir, serta peran keterlibatan masyarakat dalam mitigasi banjir. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulandata melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan terdiri dari 3 warga terdampak dan 2 pejabat pemerintah .Data dianalisis melalui melalui proses reduksi, penyajian, serta penarikan kesimpulan Keabsahan data diperkuat melalui triangulasi sumber dan member check.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk partisipasi masyarakat dalam mitigasi banjir meliputi gotong royong, pembangunan jembatan darurat, pelaporan kepada pemerintah, serta edukasi lingkungan .Namun partisipasi ini masih bersifat reaktif dan terbatas pada pascabanjir. Dampak partisipasi masyarakat meliputi pengurangan genangan air, peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan ,serta percepatan respon darurat. Sementara itu masyarakat berperan dalam mitigasi banjir dengan meminimalisir risiko, meningkatkan efektivitas kebijakan pemerintah serta menumbuhkan kesadaran dan ketahanan sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya penignkatan kesadaran dan pemberdayaan masyarakat agar partisipasi mereka lebih optimal dan berkelanjutan. Pemerintah diharapkan dapat mengembangkan strategi mitigasi yang lebih partisipatif melalui edukasi dan koordinasi yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The proliferation of online gambling within society not only contributes to household financial instability but also disrupts social structures. Despite its legal and religious prohibitions, this phenomenon continues to permeate various social groups, including the community in Aek Kota Batu Village. This study examines the social and economic impacts of online gambling and identifies measures undertaken by village authorities to mitigate its prevalence. This study employed a qualitative approach utilizing a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations with six informants, including gambling participants, local residents, and village officials. The data analysis was conducted in four stages: data collection, thematic categorization, narrative presentation, and conclusion drawing. Validity was ensured through source and technique triangulations. These findings indicate that online gambling adversely affects individuals' social lives, leading to reduced interaction and increased isolation. Economically, participants experienced diminished savings, debt entrapment, and growing reliance on instant income sources. The village government has sought to address this issue through social and religious counseling aimed at enhancing moral and legal awareness. This study concludes that online gambling poses a significant threat to the socioeconomic resilience of the community and necessitates collaborative, cross-sectoral interventions.   Maraknya praktik judi online di tengah masyarakat tidak hanya menimbulkan gangguan ekonomi rumah tangga, tetapi juga merusak tatanan sosial. Meskipun perjudian telah dilarang secara hukum dan agama, fenomena ini tetap berkembang di berbagai kalangan, termasuk masyarakat Kelurahan Aek Kota Batu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak sosial dan ekonomi dari praktik judi online serta mengidentifikasi upaya yang dilakukan oleh pihak kelurahan dalam mengurangi penyebarannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologis. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap enam narasumber yang terdiri dari pelaku, masyarakat sekitar, dan aparat kelurahan. Analisis data dilakukan melalui empat tahap: pengumpulan data, kategorisasi tematik, penyajian naratif, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan validitas dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa judi online berdampak negatif terhadap kehidupan sosial masyarakat, seperti berkurangnya interaksi dan munculnya perubahan perilaku menyendiri. Di sisi ekonomi, pelaku judi online mengalami penurunan tabungan, terjebak pinjaman, dan meningkatnya ketergantungan pada cara instan memperoleh uang. Pihak kelurahan berupaya menanggulangi masalah ini melalui penyuluhan sosial dan keagamaan yang mengangkat isu-isu moral dan hukum. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa judi online merupakan ancaman nyata bagi ketahanan sosial-ekonomi masyarakat dan membutuhkan penanganan lintas sektor secara kolaboratif.

Abstract

In tourism development, community participation is very important. Community participation does not just appear but must start from the correct perception of tourism. The local community, with all their perceptions about tourism management, have already been involved in tourism management. The aim of the research is: 1) to find out the local people's perception to the principal tourism destination management 2) to find out the model of sustainable tourism development in Simanindo District, Samosir Regency. The type of research is social survey and descriptive-quantitative. The technique used in sampling is the Franc Lynch method, with a sample of 95 people as respondents, aged 15-64 years was obtained. The data type used represents primary by using a questionnaire with a Likert scale in each question. Data analysis techniques were using value perception and multiple regression analysis. The result from this research showed: 1) The percentage of the average value of the independent variable is 85%, this means that the perception of the local community on the principles of managing Lake Toba tourist destinations are in positive or good areas 2) Sustainable tourism development has a positive relationship and is influenced simultaneously by service, attraction, human resources, environment, and participation. Therefore, the model of sustainable tourism development should be stressed on the attraction and the human resource in the Simanindo District.   Keywords: Community tourism development, sustainable community, sustainable tourism.
