Abstract

Low participation in physical activity is a global issue that is often rooted in the failure of conventional Physical Education (PJOK) in building students' interest in learning from an early age. This study aims to analyze the influence of the physical fitness collaboration game model (KOKEMAN) on PJOK learning interest in elementary school students. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design involving 20 grade V students at SDN Rancakalong. Interventions were carried out in 14 meetings with tested protocols. Data was collected through a validated interest questionnaire with an expert judgment score of 94% and a reliability of 0.801. The results of the Paired Samples T-Test showed a very significant increase in the experimental group with a significance value (p=0.000). Furthermore, analysis of the N-Gain score showed that the experimental group achieved an increase of 48% in the medium category, far exceeding the control group which only reached 10% in the low category. In conclusion, Kokeman's game model has proven to be effective in significantly increasing students' interest in learning through the creation of a joyful learning environment. These findings confirm that the integration of structured play elements from an early age is a crucial preventive step to prevent understanding gaps and low interest in movement that can persist into adulthood.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the bakiak (clog) game in improving peer interaction among grade V students of SDN Pasirbenteng II. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method through a one group pretest–posttest design. The research sample consisted of 37 students selected using the total sampling technique. The research instrument was a peer interaction questionnaire based on indicators of cooperation, communication, empathy, tolerance, and social support, comprising 19 statement items. Prior to use, the instrument underwent validity and reliability testing. The reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha yielded a value of α = 0.720, indicating that the instrument is reliable. Item validity was assessed using corrected item-total correlation, resulting in 11 valid items out of 19, which were retained for data collection. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, N-Gain calculations, and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the average score increased from 54.81 (pretest) to 90.59 (posttest), with an average N-Gain value of 0.7886, categorized as high. The Paired Sample t-Test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These findings demonstrate that the bakiak game is effective in improving peer interaction among elementary school students.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has induced a sedentary lifestyle in youngsters, adversely affecting the deterioration of fundamental motor abilities, particularly locomotor motions. On the other hand, conventional athletic training in schools is often considered uninteresting for students. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of using parkour in athletic training on enhancing elementary school children' locomotor skills and to compare its efficacy with traditional training methods. This research employed an experimental methodology with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample comprised kids from Mandalaherang Elementary School, categorized into an experimental group (parkour-based learning) and a control group (traditional learning). The TGMD-2 (Test of Gross Motor Development - Second Edition) was employed to assess locomotor skills. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and N-Gain assessments. The findings indicated a notable enhancement in the locomotor abilities of the experimental group. The experimental group attained an average N-Gain score of 0.5031 (moderate category), but the control group achieved just 0.2065 (poor category). Alongside physical attributes, observations indicated an enhancement in students' self-confidence and problem-solving abilities when confronted with challenges. The integration of parkour into the elementary school athletics curriculum has proven to be more effective in enhancing students' locomotor skills compared to conventional teaching methods. Parkour can serve as an innovative learning medium that is interesting, challenging, and suited to the developmental characteristics of elementary school students.

Abstract

Table tennis is a sport that requires a combination of technical skills, physical abilities, and psychological factors, particularly in executing complex techniques such as topspin. In practice, many athletes experience difficulties in performing consistent and accurate topspin strokes, which may be influenced not only by technical mastery but also by psychological aspects such as self-efficacy and attention. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and attention on topspin technique skills in athletes of the UPI Sumedang Table Tennis Student Activity Unit. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 15 athletes selected through purposive sampling from a total population of 30 athletes. The research instruments included a self-efficacy questionnaire adapted from Albert Bandura's concept and an attention scale based on Robert L. Solso's cognitive theory, and a topspin skill test. Data analysis used Pearson correlation test and multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 26 at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that partially self-efficacy was significantly related to topspin skills (r = 0.538; p = 0.039), and attention was also significantly related (r = 0.758; p = 0.001). However, in the multiple regression analysis, only attention had a significant effect on topspin skills (β = 0.646; p = 0.005), while self-efficacy did not show a significant effect (p = 0.157). Both variables simultaneously contributed 64.2% to topspin skill (R² = 0.642; p = 0.002). These findings indicate that attention is the dominant predictor of topspin skill, while self efficacy plays an indirect role when analyzed together. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integrating psychological training, particularly attention, into table tennis training programs.

Abstract

Top spin is an important technique in table tennis that requires targeted training with the right media, but the effectiveness of various training media such as robopong, spinwheel, and return board in improving top spin accuracy has not been studied much comparatively. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the influence provided by the media or training tools (robopong, spinwheel and return board) on improving the accuracy of top spin strokes in table tennis. The research method used in this study is Quasi-Experimental Design: Pretest–Posttest Nonequivalent Groups Design, where the sample will be divided into three groups by starting with pretest data collection then treatment in groups for 12 meetings and ending with a posttest. The sample consisted of 15 active members of the Table Tennis Student Activity Units  UPI Sumedang Campus, the sample selection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique which was then continued with a group division technique using the Matching-Only Design technique. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence of the three media or training tools on improving the accuracy of top spin strokes in table tennis, however, the post-hoc test showed no significant difference between the three training media on improving the accuracy of top spin strokes in table tennis. So it can be concluded that the three training media have an effect on increasing the accuracy of top spin strokes in table tennis, but there is no significant difference. The three research groups have a relatively similar level in increasing the accuracy of top spin strokes, although the average for each group is different, but it is not enough to show significant effectiveness in influencing the accuracy of top spin in the sport of table tennis.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to empower elementary school Physical Education (PE) teachers by enhancing their competence in implementing movement literacy through table tennis. The issue addressed was the limited ability and confidence of teachers to integrate movement literacy into PE lessons due to lack of training, inadequate facilities, and constrained teaching schedules. To respond to this challenge, a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was employed, emphasizing active involvement of teachers in problem identification, program design, training, implementation, and evaluation. The program was carried out in Sumedang Regency, West Java, over three months and involved 50 PE teachers. The intervention was structured through the acronym AKTIF (Analysis, Collaboration, Training, Implementation, Feedback). Teachers participated in practical training on movement literacy concepts, basic table tennis techniques, and creative pedagogical strategies. Simulated teaching sessions with modified media (folding tables, wooden boards, and simple rackets) were conducted to overcome facility limitations. The results indicated significant improvements in teachers’ technical skills, creativity, and confidence in delivering table tennis-based learning. Furthermore, a professional learning community of PE teachers was established as a sustainability strategy. In conclusion, the program effectively bridged the gap between theoretical understanding and practical teaching, providing an adaptable model for empowering teachers and strengthening students’ movement literacy.
