Abstract

Salterai is a group of sea cucumber farmers founded in 2020 in Tual City. The sea cucumber cultivation business includes Breeding and Growth. Nursery is one of the breeding chains. The death of sea cucumber seeds in nursery activities reaches 50-70% because the facilities and infrastructure owned by the Salterai group are inadequate. Besides, the demand for sea cucumber seeds in the local market is not optimal. The purpose of the community service is to implement PVC Pen-culture and marketing strategies to increase the production and income of the Salterai group. The methods used include interviews, observations, and documentation at the preparation stage, the implementation stage using the extension, training, and mentoring methods, and the evaluation stage using pre-test and post-test methods. Participants in this community service activity were 10 people from the Salterai group. The results of the community service activities showed increased knowledge regarding PVC Pen-culture technology and marketing strategies for sea cucumber seedlings.  Increasing knowledge and facilities owned can increase the production and income of the Salterai group and have a wider impact on local economic growth in the coastal communities of Tual City and Southeast Maluku Regency. ABSTRAK Salterai adalah kelompok pembudidaya teripang yang didirikan pada tahun 2020 di Kota Tual. Usaha budidaya teripang yang dilakukan meliputi pembenihan dan pembesaran. Pendederan merupakan salah satu dari mata rantai Pembenihan. Kematian anakan teripang dalam kegiatan pendederan mencapai 50 - 70% karena sarana dan prasarana yang dimiliki kelompok Salterai kurang memadai. Selain itu, permintaan anakan teripang di pasar lokal belum maksimal. Tujuan pengabdian adalah menerapan Pen-culture pendederan berbahan PVC dan strategi pemasaran untuk meningkatkan produksi dan pendapatan kelompok Salterai. Metode yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi pada tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan menggunakan metode penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan, tahap evaluasi menggunakan metode pre-test dan post-test. Peserta yang berpartispasi dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini sebanyak 10 orang yang berasal dari anggota kelompok Salterai. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan menunjukan peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai teknologi Pen-culture pendederan berbahan PVC dan strategi pemasaran anakan taripang. Melalui peningkatan pengetahuan dan sarana yang dimiliki dapat meningkatkan produksi dan pendapatan kelompok Salterai dan memberikan dampak yang lebih luas terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal di masyarakat pesisir Kota Tual dan Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara.

Abstract

The lift net raft fisheries business is a production activity carried out by small fishermen for economic purposes, but the sustainability and development of this business is strongly influenced by economic, internal and external factors. The research was conducted from January 2022 to July 2022 in Ohoi Namar, Southeast Maluku District. The purpose of this research is to determine the feasibility of a fishery business and the right business development strategy. Primary and secondary data were collected using a survey method, with interview, questionnaire and observation, the data analyzed by business feasibility analysis and SWOT. The results of the study show that the lift net raft fishries business is feasible to continue because it has a NPV value of Rp. 548,200,783, IRR = 102%, Net B/C = 5.0, and PP = 2.0. The business development strategy consists of the SO strategy which includes increasing fleet capacity, improving the quality of cath, optimizing secondary cath when season transition 1 and 2. The WO strategy is to improve lighting technology, expand marketing networks, optimize information technology to expand market access, improve the quality of education for ABK owners and fishermen. ST' strategy includes implementing environmentally friendly fishing technology and health protocols in every aspect of the business. WT' strategy is cooperation with KKP in coastal and ocean management, efficiency and effectiveness of production costs and fishing time.

Abstract

Perikanan panah skala kecil merupakan suatu kegiatan produksi yang bersifat ekonomi di kawasan konservasi TPK Kei kecil. Sebagai kegiatan ekonomi nelayan panah selalu berupaya untuk meningkatkan pendapatan dan produktivitas usahanya dalam setiap musim, namun upaya tersebut selalu diperhadapkan dengan berbagai permasalahan yakni biaya operasional yang tinggi, dan perubahan harga pasar, dan ketidakpastian hasil tangkapan akibat variasi musim penangkapan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat pendapatan dan kelayakan usaha armada perikanan panah skala kecil yang menggunakan tenaga penggerak dayung, ketinting 6.5 PK, dan motor tempel 15 PK yang berkembang di kawasan konservasi TPK Kei kecil Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Jenis data yang dibutuhkan adalah data primer dan sekunder, data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode survei dengan teknik triangulasi. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa armada perikanan panah motor tempel 15 PK sangat menguntungkan pada musim timur, ketinting 6.5 PK pada musim pancaroba 2 dan dayung pada musim pancaroba 1. Perikanan panah skala kecil layak untuk dikembangkan karena memiliki nilai indeks produktivitas disetiap musim lebih dari 1 (P>1) bahkan armada perikanan panah motor tempel 15 PK dan dayung tertinggi pada musim timur, dan ketinting 6.5 PK pada musim pancaroba 2 karena itu pengelolaan dan pengembangan perikanan panah perlu dilakukan secara efektif dan adaptif.

Abstract

The sandfish (Holoturia scrabra) cultivation business was established by the Salterai group in 2018. The business has experienced a significant increase in fixed and working capital. The fixed capital includes investment costs, while the working capital issued to obtain production factors includes fixed and variable costs. However, until now, the Salterai group has not been able to conduct an evaluation or cost-benefit analysis due to limited knowledge and understanding of the cost-benefit. The purpose of the training is to provide knowledge and understanding to the Salterai group in evaluating the cost-benefit of the sandfish cultivation business. The stages and methods used in the survey with interview, observation, and documentation methods, the training implementation with lecture, discussion, and direct practice methods, then the evaluation with quantitative descriptive methods. Community service activities went well according to the stages. The results obtained at the survey stage were the identification of investment costs and operational costs of the sandfish, H. scabra cultivation business, at the implementation stage it showed that the training was running well and smoothly so that it produced optimal social and economic benefit information, and the evaluation stage showed an increase in knowledge and understanding in evaluating the cost benefits of the sandfish H. scabra cultivation business.
