Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease whose case trend continues to increase from year to year. Although hypertension is a disease that is suffered by many people in Indonesia, in reality there are still many people who do not understand about hypertension and do not apply hypertension control behavior. The formation of health behavior can be influenced by individual knowledge in viewing a disease. Insufficient knowledge of hypertension can have an impact on hypertension that is difficult to cure and is fatal to the emergence of various complications. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge with hypertension control behavior in hypertensive patients in Sumuragung Village, Sumberrejo District, Bojonegoro Regency. Method: This study was conducted in Sumuragung Village, Sumberrejo District, Bojonegoro Regency in December 2022-January 2023. The research design used was quantitative with a cross sectional study approach and obtained a sample of 91 respondents with hypertension aged 45 years or more. The sampling technique used probability sampling with the simple random sampling method. Meanwhile, the data collection technique was carried out door to door and the instrument used was an interview using a questionnaire sheet that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed univariately in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using the Chi Square test. Result: It was found that there were 45 respondents who had good knowledge about hypertension and good hypertension control behavior and there were 18 respondents who had poor knowledge and poor hypertension control behavior. From the results of the chi square test obtained a p value of 0.001. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge with hypertension control behavior in hypertensive patients in Sumuragung Village, Sumberrejo District, Bojonegoro Regency.

Abstract

Introduction: Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a major health problem in under-five children which can cause death. Exclusive breastfeeding can prevent infections, one of which is ARI. Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the risk of ARI in under-five children. Method: This research uses a literature review approach which measures the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the risk of ARI in under-five children. The data source uses secondary data in the form of articles obtained through two databases, namely Scopus and Springer Link. Result: There are 5 articles that meet the requirements for research. Four out of five articles prove that exclusive breastfeeding reduces the risk of children under five getting ARI. The finding of a higher risk of ARI in the group of children under five who are not exclusively breastfed can be caused by a decrease in the immunity of children under five, seeing that breast milk is proven to fight infection. The content of sIgA and lactoferrin in breast milk and immunization can increase the immune system in children under five who suffer from ARI. Conclusion: Breast milk has nutrients in it which are useful for preventing infectious diseases, such as ARI and pneumonia in children under five. Given the influence on the health of children under five, the findings of this study demonstrate the need for improvements in breastfeeding programs, with a particular emphasis on exclusive breastfeeding and ARI management. There is a need for widely accessible health workers, information, and services connected to care for moms.

Abstract

The proportion of new leprosy cases with grade 2 disability in Lamongan Regency tends to increase and exceeds the programme target of <5% in 2019-2021. The discovery of new leprosy cases with grade 2 disability will illustrate the delay in early detection, resulting in a decrease in the quality of life of leprosy sufferers. Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyse the problem of delayed case finding of grade 2 disability in Lamongan District. Method: This study was a descriptive observational study. There were 9 informants in this study, namely, 1 person in charge of the leprosy programme at the Health Office, and 8 people in charge of the programme at the Puskesmas level. The methods used in identifying health problems were document study, brainstorming, USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) method, and fishbone diagram. Results: Knowledge has an important role in determining a person's attitude, knowledge shows the intelligence that allows a person to act appropriately, quickly and easily in making decisions. Patients' lack of knowledge about the early symptoms of leprosy leads to inappropriate actions, so there are still new cases of leprosy with grade 2 disability in Lamongan Regency. Not only the patient's knowledge, but good family knowledge is also expected and is able to make appropriate leprosy treatment efforts. Awareness will grow in the family to make treatment efforts if the family has good knowledge. Conclusions: The priority problem in finding new cases of leprosy with grade 2 disability in Lamongan Regency is the lack of knowledge of patients and their families, which results in inappropriate behaviour when experiencing the first symptoms of leprosy.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of stunting in East Java Province in 2022 reached 19.2%, showing a decrease compared to 2021, which recorded a prevalence rate of 23.5%. Despite the declining trend in stunting prevalence in East Java, the province has not yet achieved the Renstra target, which stipulates that the prevalence of stunting should decrease to 18.4% by 2022. Objectives: This study aims to investigate further the causes of stunting incidents in East Java Province. Methods: The method employed in this research is a literature review, where data sources are obtained using the Google Scholar electronic database. The research search process follows the PICOS protocol, formulating keywords using Boolean Operator techniques. The keywords used are "factors" AND "causes" OR "relationships" OR "risks" AND "stunting" AND "infants" OR "toddlers" OR "children." The selection of studies to be included in the review is adjusted to inclusion criteria: studies published in the last ten years (2013-2023), written in Indonesian and English, full-text, published, and open access. Exclusion criteria include age range, non-observational research, and studies that do not discuss the causes of stunting. Results: A total of 13 studies were used in compiling this review. The location characteristics of the studies were found in 10 Districts/Cities in the East Java Province. Over the past ten years, various factors have been recognized as causes of stunting based on the identified research publications. These factors include parenting styles, Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), economic status, educational history of birth, history of infectious diseases, and maternal pregnancy history. Conclusions: The primary research focus on stunting incidents in toddlers in East Java Province is the parenting style provided by mothers. The level of maternal knowledge regarding Exclusive Breastfeeding (ASI), provision of Complementary Feeding (MPASI), and the intake of foods consumed by toddlers has a significant correlation with the occurrence of stunting and the developmental progress of children.
