Abstract

HKBP Maranatha Sunday School is one of the church which is devoted to children aged 3-13 years old in Pekanbaru. However, in practice, HKBP Maranatha Sunday School has its own uniqueness that is the use of local languages which is Batak language as the intermediate language. Language became one of the important factors in the implementation of the communication process where the Ethnography of Communication stressed that language can not be separated from how and why the language was used. This study aims to determine the Ethnography of Communication in Sunday School Worship of Huria Kristen Batak Protestant (HKBP) Maranatha District of Payung Sekaki. The purpose of this study was to determine how the communicative situation, communicative events and communicative acts in worship sunday school . The type of research is qualitative. While research method used is an ethnography of communication. Most of the data collected through observation and interviews. Informants in this study were Sunday school chidren, Sunday school teacher and also sintua which selected by using purposive technique. Techniques of collecting data was through interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results showed that the communicative situation was happened in HKBP Maranatha Sunday school where the situations didn’t conducive because the children didn’t understand the Batak Language. Communicative events based on the type of event that is a religious service. Topics discussed are about the Bible story. The function of using Batak language is to preserve and familiarize the use of Batak language in worship. Setting occurs in HKBP Maranatha held at the end of the month. Participants are sunday school children, Sunday school teacher, sintua and keyboardist. Action communicative is in the form of commands or messages which given by Sunday school teachers to organize the worship, given by sintua to pray and read the Bible and Sunday school children as listener and the implementer.Keywords: Etnography Of Communication, Communicative Situation, Action Communication , Communication Event, Batak Language, Sunday School.

Abstract

Rape is one of the problems of women in social life which is made into a film. The victim of rape must suffer both physical and psychological consequences. Traumatic is one of the psychological impacts which is rarely found in conventional media. Through the film 27 Steps Of May, director Ravi Bharwani presents a visualization of the traumatic experiences of women victims of rape.This type of research is a qualitative research with a constructivist paradigm. This research uses Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic model which consists of representamen (sign), object, and interpretant as a tool to analyze the traumatic meaning of women victims of rape in 27 Steps Of May.The results of this study are: (1) Traumatic behavior of women victims of rape is represented by a sign or representation in the form of using Close Up, minimal dialogue, and not using bright colors. It is used as a visual support for traumatic impressions. (2) The traumatic behavior of women victims of rape in 27 Steps Of May is represented by the object through the appearance and behavior of May's figure. May's traumatic behavior is supported by pale and dark colored clothes which mean sadness, pain, and boredom. (3) The traumatic of women victims of rape in the film 27 Steps Of May is represented by interpreters through May who are identified as having shock behavior, sleep disturbances (insomnia), introvert, emotional immunity, self harm, flashback, panic attack, nausea and gag. (4) Hanik found traumatic symptoms in the film 27 Steps Of May in the form of flashbacks and emotional immunity. (5) The results of interviews with informants found that the traumatic behavior of rape victims in this film is difficulty interacting with other people, shutting down, flashbacks, self-harm, shock, gloom and cold behavior, and experiencing insomnia. Keywords: Rape, Traumatic, Film, Representation, Semiotic

Abstract

2015 is a party of democracy for Indragiri Hulu community. Yopi Arianto, SE as incumbent candidate successfully re-elected to Regent Indragiri Hulu period 2015-2020 period. This study aims to determine the style of communication polittik Yopi Arianto and the use of media in the campaign in the election of regional head of Indragiri Hulu Regency in 2015.               The method of this research is qualitative research method. The informants in this study consisted of Yopi Arianto as Indragiri Hulu District Head, 2 people, and 1 successful team. Techniques of collecting interview data, observation, and documentation.                              The results of this study indicate that the victory back Yopi Arianto became Regent Indragiri Hulu Regency in 2015 can be achieved with political communication that he did. This political communication includes the style of political communication as well as the use of media in the campaign. Political communication style Yopi Arianto is known as an energetic, interactive, and close to the people. In addition, the selection of media use in campaigns is also a matter of concern. Yopi Arianto uses some media of kampaye covering media directly or face to face ie communication directly to society, social media in form of facebook which is useful to convey information about activity during campaign progress. In addition, the use of outdoor media such as banners, billboards and banners and the use of small format media in the form of posters, clocks, calendars and T-shirts is also a concern Yopi Arianto in attracting the public to vote himself back in the elections of regional heads in 2015 Regency of Indragiri Hulu.Keyword: Local Election, Political Communication

Abstract

Dai Cilik Academy is s da’wah competition program that involves children as participants that comes from various schools at the Regency or city level through Riau Province. Da’wah religious programs generally only aired before and during Ramadhan, but this program also airs every Sunday at Studio 2 TVRI Riau. In the middle of deficiency of children’s show program and religious education especially Islam, the Dai Cilik Academy program is present among the Riau community as an alternative spectacle for children so they can be emulated. The purpose of this study was to determine the management production of Dai Cilik Academy programs in delivering da’wah messages in Television of Republic Indonesia Riau Kepri.This study used qualitative research methods. Informants from this study were producers, event directors, presenters, jury, participants, and audience in the Dai Cilik Academy Program. While the object of this research is the management production of Dai Cilik Academy programs in delivering da’wah messages in Television of Republic Indonesia Riau Kepri. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, and documentation. In achieving the validity of the data in this study, the authors use an extension of participation and triangulation.The results of the study show that the production planning for the Dai Cilik Academy program includes content planning, budget costs, facilities and time. The organizing stage is carried out, namely the division head. To realize the plans that have been prepared, continued with live broadcasts at Studio 2 TVRI Riau station by the crew, host, jury, and participants of the Dai Cilik Academy. The monitoring function is performed when major problems often occur after the production program is complete. Abstract

An attraction that can attract tourists to visit must meet the development requirements, namely what to see, what to do, what to buy, what to arrive and what to stay. This study aims to determine the attractiveness of the Bokor Cultural Tourism Village and to determine the management of the Bokor Cultural Tourism Village, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province. The methodology used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Bokor Cultural Tourism Village meets five development requirements, namely what to see, what to do, what to buy, what to arrive and what to stay. However, the implementation of these five conditions has not been fully maximized and these conditions do exist but are inadequate.Keywords: Attractiveness, Management, Bokor Village

Abstract

Film is a media of mass communication that still have audiences until now. Film have some functions such as informative, educative, and persuasive. Beside it, film also become a media of life representation. Researcher lift a film entitled Tabula Rasa that representation unity in diversity values within. Tabula Rasa is a film that merge unity in diversity values between the characters. Tabula Rasa storied about struggle in life of nomads from two provinces in Indonesia. Within different things, they are can melted and re-found their dreams because of foods. The goal of this research is to know the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth by Roland Barthes that have in Tabula Rasa film. Beside it, to know the values of unity in diversity representation in Tabula Rasa film.The research method is cualitative that referring to semiotics analysis of Roland Barthes. The subject of the research is values of unity in diversity with research object is Tabula Rasa film. Barthes describes 3 his opinions that denotation, describes about signifier and signified in reality with explicit meaning. Connotation describes about signifier and signified related in non-reality with implicit meaning. And myth describes about customs and reliance applied in society.The result of this research show that scenes researched related with the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth by Roland Barthes. And the result also shows that have the representation of unity in diversity values in Tabula Rasa film are inclusive behavior, accomodate pluralistic character, not looking for his own win, deliberation to reach consensus, based on love and willing to sacrifice. From those 5 indicators researcher found the values of unity in diversity deeply and detail such as cultural diversity of nation, tolerance to differences, democracy, and to help each other.Keyword : Representation, Film, Unity in Diversity

Abstract

Leadership is the nature of a leader who has the power and strength to control and change things for the better, leadership has a purpose, namely as a means and means of driving / motivation, leadership also has a function as administration and top management in the process of its activities. H. Suyatno is the regional leader of Rokan Hilir Regency, this leader is a mandate that Suyatno must guard as well as possible as a leader. The leadership mandate must be able to change the previous situation for the better, with the strength and power of top management and administration that a leader can do what he wants to do, but what the leader does will be assessed by the people around him, this assessment can be in the form of verbal or nonverbal, which can be with language or accompanied by gestures, a person's judgment is also a form of opinion or idea regarding something concerned. For approximately 4 years, Suyatno has led the Rokan Hilir Regency, many controversial things have resulted in the emergence of public opinion or public assessment of his leadership, implementing a policy of honorary dismissals in large numbers, there is also news about Suyatno who is a drug user. Everything that happened in the leadership of Suyatno that caused the controversy would lead to different opinions. This study aims to determine the Public Opinion on the Leadership Image of Suyatno, the Regent of Rokan Hilir Regency, and also to find out what factors shape this public opinion.This study used a qualitative descriptive method based on primary and secondary data sources and used observation, interview, and documentation data collection techniques. The number of informants in this study was thirty people, and the determination of the informants used purposive sampling. The data analysis technique uses the interactive data analysis model of Miles and Huberman, where the data obtained is then processed to be reduced, presented to produce a general conclusion. The results of this study resulted in different opinions about the image of Suyatno's leadership, but what was more dominant was negative opinion with the number of opinions of twenty-four of the thirty target informants, who said Suyatno's leadership was not good, on the grounds that honorary dismissal had no solution for being dismissed. and inaccurate policies such as urban development that is being carried out, and has also been known as a drug user which has resulted in public disappointment so that there is bad opinion, the community is also of the opinion that leaders should be good role models. Several factors form an opinion, namely past experience, circulating information and organization, these three factors influence the formation of public opinion, people are disappointed and do not expect much more about Suyatno leadership which can be seen from people's negative perceptions and attitudes towards Suyatno Suyatno leadership.Keywords: Public Opinion, Image of Leadership

Abstract

The research entitled moral representation in the movie hanung bramantyo habibie rudy the works (analysis of semiotic roland barthes). The story of the film in the true story of young man named baharudin jusuf habibie who tried to create an aircraft as well as build the aerospace industry indonesia. Inu research aims to find out how the moral messages in the film rudy habibie presented which then generate moral as human relationships with humans, the relationship of man with god, as well as human relationships the social environment.This study uses qualitative methods, with Roland Barthes semiotics analysis approach, taking a subject that is focused upon the character rudy. With views through faceted Denoted (signifier) describes the relationship of signifier and signified on reality, meaning explicit. Connotation (signified) describes the relationship of signifier and signified to non-reality, generate an implicit meaning and myth (the myth) explained the habits and beliefs prevailing in the society. In this study the scene is divided into 3 parts namely the relationship of man with man, the human relationship with the social environment with 11 scene data analysis unit. Data collection with the corpus contained in the film in accordance with the categorization of the already determined.The results of this research show that the representation of the moral messages in the film rudy this is habibie. First, look at human relationships with humans. Second, look at the relationship of man with god. Abstract

The country of Indonesia insisted in the storm with the action of the bombing. At the end of 2016 yesterday, Indonesia was again shaken by the emergence of a Molotov cocktail action that took place in front of the East Kalimantan Samarinda Oikumene Church. The bomb blast occurred on November 13, 2016. The bombing event that injured 4 children, one of whom died from burns in the suffering reached 78%. The bomb incident did not escape the media spotlight, not least the online media. Similarly, kompas.com and tempo.co always preach this case in a series every day.This research is a qualitative research with approach of framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Koscki by using constructionist theory. The object of research in this study are news related to the case of Samarinda bombs at kompas.com and Tempo.co taken in a series each day based on different topics from November 13, 2016 - November 20, 2016.Based on the results of this study, it appears that the attitude kompas.com more positive image of the police, this can be seen from the news raised as telling about the success of the police arrested the suspected Church bombing in Samarinda, then the success of the police captured the brains of Samarinda bombers, Then found evidence in the form of an ISIS flag stating that the perpetrator is connected with ISIS. Tempo.co reporters also highlight the positive image of the police, ranging from the arrest of the main perpetrators of Samarinda bombs, investigations, to the establishment of 7 suspects but on the other hand tempo.co provide opportunities for readers to convey criticism. The newsreader is the parties who receives or use the information. Information required by the user aims to increase knowledge, and improve skills that ultimately can change attitudes and behavior. In presenting a news portal certainly provides a decent news presentation for its readers, not least the news portal Infosiak.com provide information for the community. Infosiak.com is an online news portal that provides information about the development of Siak in particular. The problem raised in this research is how media management Infosiak.com in providing information in Siak District.This research use descriptive qualitative method, while the object of the research is Infosiak.com media management in providing information in Siak District and research subjects include editorial leaders, journalists and the public. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation.The results found First, the plan to produce the main product of news that will be published on news portals, and published to social media Facebook and Twitter. Second, the organization of Infosiak.com has placed each personal in the right position with their expertise in respectively. Third, the implementation includes news coverage, news writing and the latest news uploading in use with the existence of social media like Facebook and Twitter. Fourth, the supervision made Infosiak.com one of them is the evaluation of the work of supervision of news material to be posted.
