Abstract

The training on the use of Powtoon and BookCreator aims to improve the skills of English teachers in utilizing digital technology for learning. Attended by 25 Madrasah Tsanawiyah teachers, this activity consists of two main sessions: making animated videos with Powtoon and compiling interactive e-modules using BookCreator. On the first day, participants learned to make learning videos with Powtoon and upload the results to YouTube. On the second day, the training focused on creating digital teaching materials using multimodal features in BookCreator, such as text, graphics, audio, and video. This training received a positive response from the participants, who were actively involved in the practice sessions and showed high motivation to develop their competencies in digital teaching. The evaluation showed a high level of satisfaction, with teachers feeling that this training was relevant and useful for their English teaching. This training helped them adapt technology in learning, which is expected to increase student participation and interest in class. The final results are learning videos and e-modules that are ready to be used in class as interactive teaching media.

Abstract

Puasa adalah salah satu bentuk ibadah yang tidak hanya memiliki nilai keagamaan, tetapi juga menawarkan berbagai keuntungan bagi kesehatan, seperti membantu proses pembuangan racun, meningkatkan tingkat metabolisme, serta melatih kebiasaan makan yang lebih teratur. Namun, masih ada beberapa orang yang belum sepenuhnya menyadari pentingnya menjaga kesehatan saat menjalankan puasa. Kurangnya pemahaman ini dapat mengakibatkan pola hidup yang kurang sehat, seperti mengabaikan asupan gizi yang baik saat sahur dan berbuka, serta kurangnya konsumsi air yang memadai. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan sarana edukasi yang sederhana, menarik, dan mudah dimengerti oleh semua lapisan masyarakat.Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai manfaat puasa sekaligus meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan saat berpuasa melalui media poster. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan beberapa langkah, yaitu observasi langsung untuk mengetahui keadaan dan kebutuhan masyarakat, pembuatan poster yang berisi informasi kesehatan terkait puasa dengan desain yang menarik serta mudah dipahami, dan pemasangan poster di area masjid yang mudah diakses oleh masyarakat.Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan poster sebagai sarana edukasi visual cukup efektif dalam menyampaikan informasi kepada masyarakat. Poster yang dipasang mampu menarik perhatian dan mempermudah masyarakat dalam menangkap pesan yang disampaikan secara ringkas dan jelas. Di samping itu, masyarakat tampak lebih tertarik untuk membaca dan memahami informasi yang disediakan dibandingkan dengan metode penyampaian secara lisan semata.Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media poster adalah salah satu alternatif yang efisien dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya menjaga kesehatan selama puasa. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat memberikan dampak positif serta menjadi referensi bagi kegiatan edukasi serupa di masa mendatang. Keyword: puasa, kesehatan, poster, edukasi.

Abstract

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools become increasingly accessible in educational contexts, their potential to support second language writing instruction warrants closer examination. This study investigates the effectiveness of formative feedback provided by ChatGPT, an AI-based language model, in enhancing the narrative writing skills of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. Sixteen undergraduate students from an Indonesian university participated in the study. Each student composed a narrative essay based on a personal experience and received individualized feedback from ChatGPT using a standardized prompt. They subsequently revised their work based on this feedback. Pre- and post-revision essays were evaluated by two trained human raters using a standardized narrative writing rubric. Inter-rater reliability was confirmed with a high Cronbach’s alpha score of .91. Statistical analysis using paired-sample t-tests revealed significant improvements in overall writing quality, with the greatest gains observed in style, voice, and coherence. Qualitative data from student reflections further indicated positive perceptions of ChatGPT’s feedback, citing its clarity, detail, and ease of use. While some students noted the tool's limitations in addressing cultural or contextual nuances, overall results suggest that AI-generated feedback can serve as an effective supplement to traditional instruction. The study highlights ChatGPT's potential to enhance writing development and learner autonomy, particularly in resource-constrained EFL classrooms.
