Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) determine the effect of the use of rice husk, rice straw and woodshavings as litter material on the physiological response of broiler finisher phase (14th days--harvest)in closed house, 2) determine the best type of litter material on the physiological response of broilerfinisher phase (14th days--harvest) in the closed house. This study was conducted over 26th days on15th April--10th May 2014 in closed house owned by PT. Rama Jaya Lampung Krawang Sari Village,Natar District, South Lampung regency. The design used was completely randomized design (CRD)with three treatments and six replications. The treatment consists of the type of litter material (ricehusk, wood shavings, straw and rice). Each experimental unit consisted of 15 birds and 18 plotsenclosure so broiler strain CP 707 is used as much as 270 tails. Sampling was conducted physiologicalresponses by 20% of the number of experimental units. The Data obtained was analyzed using a rangeof 5% significance level.Based on these results it can be concluded that: (1) the use of various types of litter materialson the physiological response of broiler did not significantly affect respiratory rate, heart rate, rectaltemperature and temperature shank, (2) there is no treatment of rice husk litter type material, shavingswood, and rice straw on the closed house best effect on respiratory rate, heart rate, rectal temperature,and temperature on broiler finisher phase shank.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to (1) identify the effect of spray solution (lime and sugar) at different doses on mortality embryo, hatching time and saleable tegal ducks, (2) investigate the best spray solution at different dose on mortality embryo, hatching time and saleable tegal ducks.  The research was conducted from 11th December 2015-9th January 2016 at Beruang St, 12 Kedaton, Bandar Lampung.  Research using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2x2 of nested model.  The main block is the kind solution (lime and sugar) and the partial block is dosage solution (5% and 10%) with 5 replication.  Every unit experimental consist of 3 eggs with average initial weight at 72 ± 1.8 g/egg with coefficient variation ± 2.45%.  variables measured were mortality of last three days of hatching, hatching time and saleable DOD tegal ducks.  Research data were analyzed by using the assumption of variance on the real level of 5%.  The results shows that (1) spray solution (lime and sugar) at different dose give no significant effect (P> 0,05) on mortality, hatching time, and saleable DOD tegal ducks, (2) yet there is the best spray solution at different doses on mortality, hatching time and saleable DOD tegal ducks. Abstract

Rooster medium type are constitute by-product of effort petelur's chicken hatch, one that is developed as breed of flesh producer. The success of the farm rooster medium type is influenced by many factors both external and internal factors. One of the internal factors which is also important in determining the growth rate is strain. The research aimed to determine the strain of roosters medium type which has better live weight, carcass, giblet, and abdominal fat by giving commercial broiler ration.  This research was up to 7 weeks of held from 19 May--7 July 2012 in the chicken coop of Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The roosters used are roosters medium type strain Isa Brown and Lohman as many as 200 heads (with each strain 100 tails). This research consisted of two treatments, those are T1: Roosters medium type strain Isa Brown and T2: Roosters medium type strain Lohman. For each treatment consisted of 20 experimental plots with the trial unit for each plot is 5 heads. Of each that slot is taken 1 chicken to be made sample for pruned. The data obtained from this research was analyzed by using t-student test with significant level of 5% (Steel and Torrie, 1993). The variables observed were live weight, carcass, giblet and abdominal fat. The result of this research shows that: strain Isa Brown having living wight and karkas's wight the better than strain Lohman , although wight giblet and resulting abdominal fat both of strain that not different reality (P>0,05). Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the comparison of ten days old eggs on shell thickness, weight lost, and egg haugh unit value from different layer  strains. Layer strains to use in this research were isa brown and lohman brown strains. 50 egg samples were taken from each strain from layerof 58 weeks old. This reserach was conducted in Mulawarman egg chicken farming in Tegal Sari village of GadingRejo sub district, in Pringsewu district, and in Animal Production and Reproduction  Laborator, in Animal Husbandry Departement of Agriculture Faculty in Lampung University inApril 2015. Eggs from each strain were stored for ten days. Data were tested by using t-student test with 5% trust level. The result showed that egg weight lost from lohman brown strain was significantly lower (P< 0.05) than isa brown strain, while Haugh Unit and shell thickness from both strains were not significantly different (P>0.05) at ten days storage. Abstract

Laying chicken is a type of extremely popular poultry developed by small farmers.  Laying chicken (layer)  maintained by farmers were isa brown and lohmann brown strain.  The purpose of this research was to compare between  external quality of eggs (weight, shape index, and index egg) of isa brown and lohmann brown strain.This research were conducted in April 2015 at Mulawarman Laying Chicken Farm, Tegalsari village, Gadingrejo sub-district, Pringsewu district.  The number of eggs observed in this research was 50 egs for isa brown strain and 50 egss for lohmann brown strain taken from the enclosure that contains 100 cages.  Layer used in this research were 58 weeks.  Weight and index egg obtained was analyzed by t student test in level of 5% and class of weight and shape egg by descriptive qualitative test.  The results show weigths and index strains isa brown and lohmann brown were not significant (P>0,05).  isa brown strain were extra large class of weight and on lohmann brown were a large class.  Lohmann brown Strain have the shape egg better than isa brown. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi larutan daun kersen terhadap indeks kuning telur, warna kuning telur, dan pH kuning telur serta konsentrasi daun kersen terbaik untuk telur asin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 25 Februari--01 Maret 2022, bertempat di Laboratorium Produksi Ternak, Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan konsentrasi daun kersen (0%, 10%, 20%, dan 30%) dengan 5 ulangan. Setiap satuan percobaan menggunakan 7 butir telur ayam sehingga total 140 butir telur dan 60 butir dijadikan sampel penelitian. Selanjutnya data yang didapatkan dianalisis dengan ragam taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh tidak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap indeks kuning telur, warna kuning telur, dan pH kuning telur. Daun kersen konsentrasi 30% menunjukkan perlakuan nilai indeks kuning telur dan pH kuning telur sebesar 0,85 dan 6,85 sedangkan, pada warna kuning telur sebesar 10,93.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi tepung Maggot (Black Soldier Fly) dan level pemberian terbaik terhadap performa ayam joper fase starter. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Januari--Maret 2022 dan berlokasi di Jl. Padat Karya No.6, Labuhan Dalam, Kec. Tj. Senang, Kota Bandar Lampung. Rancangan percobaan menggunakanancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, sehingga berjumlah 20 unit percobaan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu ransum BR-1 (P0), ransum BR-1 dengan suplementasi 5% tepung Maggot (P1), ransum BR-1 dengan suplementasi 10% tepung Maggot (P2), dan ransum BR-1 dengan suplementasi 15% tepung Maggot (P3). Peubah yang diukur adalah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot tubuh, konversi ransum dan income over feed cost. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisis of Varians (ANOVA) dengan taraf nyata 5% dan atau 1% kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa suplementasi tepung Maggot pada BR-1 tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum dan pertambahan bobot tubuh, tetapi berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konversi ransum dan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap income over feed cost. Konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot tubuh, konversi ransum dan income over feed cost terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan kontrol (P0).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung maggot black soldier fly (BSF) dan untuk mengetahui level penambahan tepung maggot BSF yang terbaik terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, dan konversi ransum pada puyuh jantan Coturnix coturnix japonica. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada April-Mei 2022, di Kelurahan Gunung Agung, Kecamatan Langkapura, Kota Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan yang masing-masing ulangan terdiri dari 5 ekor puyuh. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu P0 : PAR-L 100% tanpa tambahan tepung maggot (kontrol), P1 PAR-L 100% + tepung maggot BSF 5%, P2: PAR-L 100% + tepung maggot BSF 10%, P3: PAR-L 100% + tepung maggot BSF 15%. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam pada taraf 5% dan uji lanjut yang digunakan adalah uji BNT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ransum dengan penambahan tepung maggot berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum dan income over feed cost (IOFC). Namun pemberian ransum dengan penambahan tepung maggot tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan berat tubuh dan konversi ransum. Pemberian ransum dengan penambahan 10% tepung BSF lebih baik digunakan daripada penambahan taraf 5% dan 15% terhadap konsumsi ransum. Namun tidak memberikan hasil yang terbaik pada pertambahan berat tubuh, konversi ransum dan income over feed cost (IOFC) puyuh jantan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran darah (eritrosit, hemoglobin, dan hematokrit) pada ayam kampung jantan yang diberi ekstrak Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Januari--Maret 2022 di unit kandang Laboratorium Lapang Terpadu, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Pemeriksaan sampel darah dilakukan di Laboratorium Patologi Klinik, Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Penelitian menggunakan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan melalui air minum dengan P0: (kontrol), P1: 3 mg/kg BB/hari ekstrak Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata), P2: 6 mg/kg BB/hari ekstrak Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata), P3: 12 mg/kg BB/hari ekstrak Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ayam kampung jantan yang diberikan ekstrak Sambiloto dapat mempertahankan jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin, dan hematokrit pada kisaran normal.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung limbah udang dalam ransum dengan persentase yang berbeda terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, dan konversi ransum ayam pedaging (broiler), mengetahui tingkat persentase terbaik penggunaan tepung limbah udang dalam ransum terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, dan konversi ransum ayam pedaging (broiler). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Juni-Juli 2022, bertempat di UPT Teaching and Research Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian. Parameter yang diukur pada penelitian ini yaitu jumlah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh, dan konversi ransum. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan, perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu P0 : Ransum komersil 100% (kontrol); P1 : Ransum komersil 100% + 4% tepung limbah udang dalam ransum, P2 : Ransum komersil 100% + 8% tepung limbah udang dalam ransum, P3 : Ransum komersial 100% + 12% tepung limbah udang dalam ransum. Data dianalisis statistik dengan analisis ANOVA (analysis of variance) pada taraf nyata 5% dan atau 1% dengan uji lanjut BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian tepung limbah udang berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat tubuh dan konversi ransum, dan persentase penambahan tepung terbaik sebesar 4%.
