The intellectual contribution of al-Zarnuji has significantly impacted the field of Islamic education. However, certain elements of society perceive his ideas as potential hindrances to contemporary progress. This article attempted to comprehensively reinterpret al-Zarnuji's beliefs through the lens of Islamic epistemology to promote constructive discourse between al-Zarnuji’s intellectual heritage and the dynamics of the modern era. It used a qualitative approach and a literature review method, with the book Ta’lim al-Muta’allim as the primary source. Through an examination of topics related to the diversity of knowledge and its legal dimensions, the intentions underlying the act of learning, and the reverence for knowledge and scholars, this article presents findings that elucidate al-Zarnuji's advocacy of two distinct epistemological paradigms: Bayani and Irfani. Among these paradigms, it is evident that Irfani's epistemology is more dominant than Bayani's. Irfani's reasoning significantly contributes to cultivating moral and spiritual aspects in learners. However, this thinking must not exert excessive hegemony over Islamic education. The most prudent course is maintaining a harmonious equilibrium among the three epistemologies–Bayani, Burhani, and Irfani–to ensure that Islamic education continues to progress.

This device is motivated by a phenomenon that is interesting to study and research in relation to Islamic character. Some students have Islamic characters while some other students have non-Islamic characters. Students with Islamic characters are always pleasing to everyone's eyes. Discipline, confident, diligent, responsible, respect for friends, respect for teachers or elders, strong religion, friendly and tolerance are inherent in their every behavior. It is different from students who has a non-Islamic character, almost everyone dislikes him. Students with non-Islamic characters tend to be undisciplined, lazy, insecure, irresponsible, like to annoy friends, fight against teachers, selfish and less Islamic. In this case the researcher trying to find out how to instill the values of Islamic character education in al-banjari extracurricular activities at MA Al-Ihsan Kalikejambon Tembelang Jombang.

This study aims to: (1) find out how the Principal's Managerial Competence at MTsN 16 Jombang (2) to know how the Professionalism of Teachers at MTsN 16 Jombang (3) to find out how Teacher Performance at MTsN 16 Jombang (4) how the influence of Principal Managerial Competence and Teacher Professionalism on Teacher Performance at MTsN 16 Jombang. This research is a quantitative study with a research sample of all teachers at MTsN 16 Jombang, totaling 36 teachers. Data collection techniques by observation, spread out questionnaires, documentation, and unstructured interviews. Data analysis used descriptive analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 20.0 for Windows. The results showed: (1) The managerial competence of madrasah principals was in the high category with a percentage of 50% with an average of 110.05. (2) Teacher professionalism is in the medium category with a percentage of 36.1% with an average of 90.88. (3) Teacher performance in the high category with a percentage of 50% with an average of 111.08. (4) There is an effect of managerial competence of madrasah principals and teacher professionalism on teacher performance shown by a simultaneous significance test (F test) with the results of the Fcount value of 19.812 greater than Ftable 3.28 with a sig value of 0.000 less than 0.05 and the coefficient of determination. (R2) is 51.8% while the remaining 48.2% is explained by other variables that are not studied such as work motivation, work climate, and others.

The Indonesian government and people face serious challenges in addressing moral degradation and national character issues. Juvenile delinquency and other crimes have become complex problems with negative impacts on society. The implementation of character education is expected to minimize these phenomena and create a generation with good morals and positive behavior. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Tahfidz al-Qur’an learning at Pondok Pesantren Hamalatul Qur’an Jogoroto Jombang, with a focus on character education implementation. The research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that Tahfidz learning, conducted through habituation and intensive practice, has been effective. The character education based on independence and cultural aspects at this pesantren aligns with government policies and existing educational theories, even though it has not been formalized in the official curriculum. Integrated learning activities in the classroom, dormitory, and pesantren environment have a positive impact on the students' personal development, making them more disciplined and responsible. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of character education models in other Islamic educational institutions. The abstract covers essential elements such as objectives, methods, results, and implications of the research, providing a clear and comprehensive overview of the written thesis.

ABSTRACT This community service project aims to develop the interest and skills of junior high school students in Kedungbogo Village in the field of technology, particularly in creating and managing running text. The program includes comprehensive training that introduces the participants to the basics of running text technology, including practical skills in designing and implementing it effectively. The training outcome shows an increase in students' technical abilities and their interest in further exploring the field of information technology. Although post-training surveys have not yet been conducted, initial indications show a positive response, with participants beginning to apply the technology for various purposes. This training is expected to enhance the students' capabilities and motivate them to continue exploring technology in their future endeavors. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik yang masih menjadi tantangan di kelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dibandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Model PBL mendorong peserta didik untuk berkreasi dan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran melalui diskusi kelompok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan lokasi di SMK Darut Tauhid Bangil, dan subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada hasil belajar peserta didik yang menerapkan model PBL. Rata-rata nilai tugas peserta didik mencapai 82,7, dengan mayoritas siswa di atas Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) 75. Meskipun beberapa siswa masih di bawah KKM, hal ini memotivasi mereka untuk lebih aktif dan bersemangat dalam pembelajaran. Wawancara dengan peserta didik mengungkapkan bahwa model PBL meningkatkan motivasi mereka untuk menemukan jawaban secara aktif, sehingga materi pelajaran lebih mudah diingat dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah tradisional. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan model PBL dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

This study aims to explore the role of tirakat (spiritual fasting) and wirid (recitation of dhikr) as practices to develop Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ). ESQ combines emotional and spiritual intelligence, aligning with Islamic principles to foster strong moral character and deeper spiritual connections. The research employs a qualitative approach to understand the phenomenon of tirakat and wirid as tools to enhance ESQ. Data collection was conducted through observations, interviews, and documentation, with data analysis using Miles and Huberman's model, consisting of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation techniques ensured validity and reliability, including source, method, and time triangulation. The results show that tirakat and wirid significantly contribute to developing emotional and spiritual intelligence. From an emotional perspective, these practices improve self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, and empathy. Participants demonstrated better emotional control, increased patience, and a more thoughtful response to challenges. From a spiritual perspective, tirakat and wirid cultivate sincerity (ikhlas), patience (sabar), and a stronger connection with God. Participants reported greater focus in worship, improved discipline, and a deeper sense of purpose in life. This study highlights the importance of tirakat and wirid as systematic practices for developing ESQ. By integrating these practices, individuals can cultivate emotional maturity, moral character, and spiritual intelligence, which are essential for facing life’s challenges with resilience and ethical awareness.

This study aims to examine the implementation of YouTube-based learning media in enhancing student participation and comprehension in Islamic Cultural History classes at MTsN 5 Jombang. The background of this research stems from the limited use of varied learning media, which has led to students’ low engagement and passive attitudes during lessons. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that YouTube-based learning fosters a more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. The visual and auditory elements of YouTube videos help students grasp historical content more concretely and stimulate curiosity and learning motivation. Furthermore, teachers benefit from the platform’s accessibility, as students can revisit the videos for review and reinforcement. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including unstable internet connectivity and students’ tendency to focus more on video visuals rather than the instructional content. Overall, YouTube serves as an effective learning medium to improve both student participation and comprehension when appropriately integrated with teacher guidance and well-structured learning design.

Penelitian ini membahas peran strategis Nyai Hj. Mahsunah Faruq dalam menanamkan pendidikan kesetaraan gender di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Seblak Jombang. Dalam konteks tradisi pesantren yang selama ini didominasi oleh laki-laki, kehadiran sosok Nyai menjadi penanda penting atas transformasi peran perempuan, khususnya dalam sektor pendidikan Islam. Nyai Mahsunah tidak hanya menjalankan fungsi domestik sebagai pengasuh, tetapi juga aktif mendorong perubahan melalui pendidikan yang inklusif dan responsif terhadap isu-isu gender. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk peran yang dijalankan oleh Nyai dalam membangun kesadaran kesetaraan gender serta untuk mengetahui pemahaman santri terhadap nilai-nilai kesetaraan dalam praktik kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian meliputi pengasuh pesantren, pengurus, dan beberapa santri yang dipilih secara purposive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nyai Hj. Mahsunah Faruq berhasil menciptakan sistem pendidikan berbasis nilai-nilai Islam yang menekankan pentingnya keadilan dan kesetaraan gender. Santri perempuan didorong untuk aktif dalam kegiatan keilmuan, organisasi, dan kepemimpinan, tanpa mengesampingkan identitas religius mereka. Perubahan paradigma ini menunjukkan bahwa pesantren bisa menjadi ruang pemberdayaan perempuan melalui figur ulama perempuan yang memiliki otoritas keilmuan dan keagamaan yang kuat. Dengan demikian, peran Nyai Mahsunah Faruq menjadi model penting dalam pengembangan pendidikan pesantren yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada kesalehan personal, tetapi juga pada kesadaran sosial yang berkeadilan gender.
