Abstract

Stone ash is one of the results of the crushed stone production process with a stone crusher which produces small and fine grains. This experimental research was carried out by adding stone ash and instant mortar (MU type 400) at 5%, 7,5% and 10% to normal concrete with a design compressive strength fc' 25 MPa. The research results show that the addition of 10% stone ash and instant mortar to the concrete mixture can reduce the slump value. This shows that stone ash and instant mortar with an addition percentage of 10% have a high water absorption capacity.  Stone ash and instant mortar function as additives for fine aggregate and Portland cement in concrete to improve the quality of the concrete. The results of concrete compressive strength testing show that the addition of stone ash and instant mortar with an addition percentage of 10%, has the highest compressive strength value of 31,26 MPa, an increase of 4,98% compared to concrete without the addition of stone ash and instant mortar. Abstract

Brake lining pad is important in driving safety. It must be able to stop the vehicle as quickly as possible. Calcium carbonate is The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of calcium carbonate to the brake brass-epoxy lining pad. Calcium carbonate meet have good physical properties, such as having low porosity and fine particles while brass has a good heat conductor and is corrosion resistant so it is resistant to heat. The tests carried out on brake pads include wear and hardness tests. The results showed that the optimal wear rate in a dry state (40% calcium carbonate-20% brass-40% epoxy) was 0.0352 mm²/kg. While the wear rate in wet conditions (20% calcium carbonate-40% brass-40% epoxy) was 0.0396 mm²/kg. The hardness brake lining pad (20% calcium carbonate - 40% brass -40% epoxy) was  176.44 kg/mm².

Abstract

Postweld heat treatment (PWHT) is a common practice among building codes to reduce the residual stress, improve the ductility, and decrease the defects. This article describes the welding joint property of motorcycle crankcase material by taking tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding measures before PWHT on 200°C with holding time of 0,4,6, 8 hours. Test data were analyzed in relation to tensile strength, hardness and microstructure on the welding joint. The regions corresponding to the base metal (BM) and heat-affected zone (HAZ) were studied. The effect of holding time under PWHT on properties of joints can be investigated. The results demonstrated that micro-hardness in the weld and tensile strength decreased with PWHT time prolonging, while tensile strength increased with the extension of PWHT time. The microstructure before PWHT was coarse in the joint. With the extension of holding time under PWHT, the structure obtains fine grain and the characteristic becomes obvious.

Abstract

Composites consist of two or more separate materials combined in a macroscopic structure. This is different from alloy which is the structural unit is formed microscopiccally. At this research, the composite reinforcement was made of sokka Kebumen powder tile using epoxy formatrix. The percentage variations of volume fraction are 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% with a mesh size of 180-200 mesh. This study aims to determine the tensile strength, impact strength, and SEM. The method used during the manufacturing process of composite was vacum molding. The tensile strength test showed the highest value was at 10% volume fraction with 49,946 MPa. The lowest value was at 40% volume fraction with 27,618 MPa. The impact strength test showed the highest value was at 10% volume fraction with 0,03925 J/mm2. The lowest value was at 40% volume fraction with 0,03375 J/mm2. The higher the percentage volume fraction of sokka tile powder, the lower the tensile strength and the impact strength of the composites have. The SEM test showed that there was still pull out at the side.

Abstract

The earthquake accompanied by a tsunami that occurred in Palu City in 2018 resulted in damage, especially reinforced concrete buildings, one of which was the FISIP Dean Building, Tadulako University. This study aims to evaluate the seismic performance of the building using SeismoStruct software. This software is able to predict the behaviour of large displacements of space frames under static or dynamic loading by considering geometric nonlinearity and material inelasticity. Building modelling is made based on Detail Engineering Design drawings. The results of the analysis in the form of a capacity curve show that the building's performance is at the life safety level, which means that structural components are damaged so that the building's strength is reduced. There are two types of building collapse mechanisms that occur, namely yielding in the reinforcement (yield) and collapse in the concrete cover (crush-unconfined). Collapse occurred in the column where it should have occurred in the beam.

Abstract

Keberadaan laboratorium menjadi hal yang penting dalam pelaksanaan Diklat Pengendali Hama dan Penyakit Ikan (PHPI) oleh karena itu Balai Diklat Aparatur (BDA) Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) bekerjasama dengan Stasiun Karantina Ikan Kelas II Cirebon pada tahun 2014 membangun laboratorium uji karantina ikan di lingkungan kampus BDA KKP. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pemanfaatan laboratorium Diklat PHPI dengan mengukur perubahan kepuasan peserta terhadap ketersediaan media pembelajaran dan kelengkapan fasilitas belajar mengajar, nilai hasil belajar, peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta sebelum dan setelah laboratorium digunakan. Data diperoleh melalui pengisian angket/ kuesioner evaluasi pelaksanaan diklat kepada peserta. Validitas dan reabilitas instrumen telah diuji sehingga istrumen dapat digunakan dengan valid dan reliabel. Uji t dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan nilai pengukuran sebelum dan sesudah laboratorium beroperasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa semua indikator meningkat setelah operasionalisasi laboratorium di BDA. Secara statistik kepuasan peserta terhadap kelengkapan fasilitas pembelajaran dan keterampilan peserta meningkat signifikan. Adapun peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, peningkatan kepuasan peserta terhadap kelengkapan media pembelajaran dan peningkatan nilai hasil belajar peserta, secara statistik tidak meningkat signifikan.Kata kunci: evaluasi, diklat, laboratorium, pemanfaatan, PHPI THE EVALUATION OF LABORATORY UTILIZATION ON FISH QUARANTINE OFFICERS TRAINING IN MARINE AND FISHERIES OFFICERS TRAINING CENTER, MINISTRY OF MARINE AFFAIRS AND FISHERIESAbstractThe laboratory become inseparable in Fish Quarantine Officer Training. Therefore, Marine and Fisheries Officers Training Center (MFO TC) in collaboration with Cirebon Fish Quarantine Office build the fish quarantine laboratorium in MFO TC campus in 2014. This study was conducted to evaluate the lab utilitazion by measure the change of training participans satisfaction in learning media and facilities, participans final grade, and cognitive/knowledge and psychomotor skill enhancement before and after laboratory operationalization. Data were collected by distributed the evaluation questionnaire. The instruments were used in this study valid and reliable according to the result of the instrument's validity and reability test. T-test two samples for means was used to analyse the differences of measurement before and after laboratory operationalization. Statistically, psychomotor skill enhancement and training participans satisfaction in facilities were significant increased after laboratory operationalization. Abstract

Tulisan ini merupakan hasil penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hubungan antara Islam dengan budaya lokal, dalam hal ini adalah ritual pengobatan mongunom manginano pada masyarakat Buol. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian studi kasus, merupakan suatu upaya penyelidikan terhadap fenomena kontemporer dalam konteks kehidupan nyata. Proses pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan mulai dari observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan rekaman arsip serta sumber penunjang lainnya berupa buku dan artikel. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah mongunom manginano merupakan suatu ritual pengobatan tradisional yang dituturkan secara turun-temurun dan memiliki ciri khas yakni menggunakan simbol buaya dalam proses ritualnya. Kepercayaan masyarakat Buol terhadap ritual pengobatan mongunom manginano merupakan bentuk upaya terakhir untuk mencari kesembuhan, setelah melalui upaya medis namun belum berhasil. Prosesi ritual pengobatan mongunom manginano dalam pelaksanaannya menggunakan doa-doa yang dipanjatkan kepada Allah SWT. Ritual pengobatan mongunom manginano yang memiliki makna menyembuhkan orang yang sakit dan mewarisi serta melestarikan nilai-nilai leluhur sebagai suatu warisan sejarah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low urgency of occupational health and safety (K3) in construction projects in Indonesia, despite the government having regulated its implementation in the law. This study aims to determine the implementation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the Construction Project of the Information Center and Library of Padang State University conducted by the company. This research is qualitative in nature. Based on the research results, it is known that, referring to Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Regulation Number 10 of 2021 Regarding the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK), it is concluded that safety helmets, eye protectors, face shields, diving masks, gloves, safety shoes, full-body harnesses, electrical gloves, and respiratory protectors in accordance with Indonesian National Standards (SNI) are available. However, there are no ear protectors, and it is also known that the safety vests and respiratory protective masks do not comply with SNI. Furthermore, it is known that the documents provided by the company are the Construction Safety Plan (RKK), Construction Work Quality Plan (RMPK), Quality Program, Environmental Management and Monitoring Work Plan (RKPPL), and Work Traffic Management Plan (RMLLP). However, the conceptual design document for SMKK is not available. Based on the research results, the researchers suggest that the company should provide complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The company should also install signs at every hazardous location, with signs that are easily visible, clear, and understandable. The company should have complete documents in accordance with the documents required by construction service providers as per Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Regulation Number 10 of 2021 Regarding the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK), and the workers should correctly and consistently use the provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow the safety procedures established for each job.

Abstract

The development of technology in Indonesia is currently experiencing a fairly rapid development, especially in the construction sector. Concrete is one of the construction materials that is often used in various types of construction such as buildings, bridges, roads, dams and other civil infrastructure. Concrete consists of a mixture of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, cement, water and sometimes concrete can also be added with chemicals and non-chemicals in certain ratios. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of the addition of Silica fume on the compressive strength of concrete. In this study using Silica fume with percentages of 0%, 4%, 7%, and 10% of the cement weight with 1 sample for each percentage. Examination of the physical properties of the concrete material is carried out in the Civil Engineering laboratory of ITP and testing of the compressive strength of concrete is carried out in the laboratory of the Department of Public Works. This research uses the standard material of SNI 7656-2012. The test object used is a steel cylinder with a diameter of 150 mm x a height of 300 mm. Based on the results of the compressive strength test of concrete carried out at the Department of Public Works laboratory at the age of 28 days from normal concrete, the compressive strength value was 27.03 MPa, concrete with the addition of 4% Silica fume experienced an increase in compressive strength of 1.59% with the obtained value The compressive strength is 27.46 MPa, the concrete with the addition of 7% Silica fume has decreased the compressive strength by 8.38% with the obtained compressive strength value of 24.76 Mpa, and the concrete with the addition of 10% Silica fume has decreased the compressive strength by 26.89% with the obtained compressive strength value of 19.76 Mpa. From this data it is known that the optimum compressive strength value is obtained with the addition of 4% Silica fume, which is 27.46 Mpa. After conducting this research, it can be concluded that the addition of Silica fume to the mixture for making concrete can be carried out with the provisions for the addition of Silica Fume below 4% of the weight of cement.
