The writing of this article aims to identify the existence of newspapper and deacribe the process of making annotated index of articlea Padang Express's Newspapper from January to May 2016 on the subject education Archives and Library of West Sumatera. Data done by study document, collect data directly from the original source, that is Archieves and Library of West Sumatera.Based on the result in the index making annotated article newspaper there are several steps muat be considered are : (1) early observation of the newspaper to be index (2) article's newapaper selection, the articles are from Padang Express newspaper from January to May 2016; (3)make a description of newspaper articles, articlea tittle, author's name, newspaper tittle which contained article, days, date and year of the article and article's pages in the newspaper; (4) making annotation of the newspaper, the point of information that contained in newspaper; (5) making keyword; the words that often appear and easily understood by public in the article information. (6) making article's newspaper index start from writing author's name and writing of the newspaper's article title (7) compile the annotated index of newspaper articles; and (8) typing index.Keywords: Index, Annotated,Â Article, Newspapers

The purpose of this research is: (1) describe the utilization of warintek services (technology and Information Stalls) in the service of the library and Archives of the city of Padang Panjang; (2) obstacles faced in the utilization of the service warintek (technology and Information Stalls) in the service of the library and Archives of the city of Padang Panjang; (3) attempts to overcome the obstacle of utilization of services warintek (technology and Information Stalls) in the service of the library and Archives of the city of Padang Panjang. The method of research papers using quantitative methods is done through observation field and spread the now where every question related to research issues. Based on research, things can be summed up as follows: first, with the development of information and technology, the library provides services warintek (technology and information stalls) which required a librarian or pemustaka. To provide services and information technology, librarians can leverage technology in activities such as pengkatalogan, loaning, refund, inventory, and more. However, warintek (technology and information stalls) need to be improved in terms of infrastructure and information experts. Second, the obstacles faced in carrying out library services warintek (technology and information stalls) in the service of the library and archives of the city of padang panjang are: (1) has not been the presence of officers who are experts in the field of infrormasi; (2) lack of facilities and infrastructure, such as the unavailability of a special room service warintek (technology and information stalls), lack of computers, damage that often occurs on the computer. third, the efforts made in carrying out library services warintek (technology and information stalls) in the service of the library and archives of the city of padang panjang is: (1) the parties should provide experts on library services warintek; (2) provide a special room for visitors, increase the number of computers and the library are expected soon to fix some broken computers.Keyword: library, services, utilization, Warintek.

AbstractÂ This research studies about to create aÂ pathfinder (service library) service in library Andalas University. The purpose is to describe the process of making pathfinders (service library) in the library of Andalas University. This research has been done by a descriptive method by visiting directly to Andalas University library to observe and do some interview. AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to describe the participation of volunteers in the activities of increasing reading interest in the reading park Suka Maju Sejahtera in the city of Padang, describe the constraints faced by activities to increase reading interest community, describes the efforts made by volunteers and reading park Â to the activities to increase the reading interest of the community. Data were collected through observation, interview, and video recording. Descriptive data analysis. Based on the result of research, it can be concluded as follows. first, volunteer participation in package A equivalent to elementary school, using B equivalent to junior high school, package C equivalent to high school, loan collection, drawing and coloring services, and making of dindind magazines. second, the constraints faced were inadequate facilities and infrastructure to support education, limited collections, lack of volunteers, lack of reading interest from the community, and lack of promotion. third, the efforts made are supporting facilities and infrastructure for education must be completed, additional collections, adding volunteers, socializing the importance of reading, and promoting through mass media and social media.Keyword: library, reading park , volunteer, reading interest, society.

AbstractThe process of making a Silungkang Songket prototype in Sawahlunto City uses a descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews with traditional leaders and service offices. The process of making songket silungkang traditional clothing prototypes in Sawahlunto City is as follows: (1) data collection is done by interviewing techniques, (2) making a design in the form of a product to be made, (3) prototype making process in accordance with the work plan -the basic provisions of a topic that must be developed starting from making cover which is the hard skin on the outside of the book containing the title of the book, and accompanied by several supporting images; the preface contains a number of paragraphs which contain the thanksgiving of the author to Allah SWT and those who have helped and always support, a description of the prototype content, the basis and purpose of prototyping, the author's expectations, and the place, month and year when the preface was made ; the introduction contains a brief introduction to the Silungkang Songket and also a little about Sawahlunto City; the main contents of the book contain articles about silungkang songket which include history, motives and types based on the year.Keywords: silungkang songket, prototype

The writing of this paper discusses the factors that affect the low level of visitors at Perpustakaan Dinas Perpustakaan Kota Padang.The method used in writing this paper is descriptive method. Source of data obtained from the librarian at Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota PadangÂ and some general public. The data collection techniques were conducted by interviewing some of the general public .Based on the analysis of data that has been obtained, it can be concluded that (1) the factors that affect the low level of visitors in Library of Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Padang, First, the location is not strategic and not widely known by the public. Second, the book collection is incomplete and visitors difficult to find the books. Next, the facilities in the library are inadequate; (2) the effort are made to increase the visitors in Library of Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota PadangÂ are, the librarians have to do promotion activity, add the collection according to the needs of visitors, refinement the room by rearranging books around the reading table into the shelves that have been provided.Keyword: library, the factors , the level of visitor,Â librarian

AbstractThis paper aims to describe the repackaging of traditional snacks information in the Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The method used is descriptive research method by collecting data through interviews conducted with traditional hawkers in the southern coastal districts. based on the discussion can be concluded stages in packing traditional snack information in the south coast district as follows. first, a typical type of traditional snacks in the southern coastal district consisting of 5 types of snacks. second, repackaging traditional snacks information in Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan has maps and book designs, the stages are as follows: (1) Identifying user needs, (2) Collecting information and selecting information sources, (3) Selecting sources that contain information value useful, (4) evaluating information validity, (5) reviewing, analyzing, extracting information into a more efficient form for users, (6) repacking information into a form that suits the needs of users, (7) distributing information in a promotional manner. The aims of this research are (1) making Solok tourist object directory in West Sumatera amounted to 203 tourist objects and that author can get about 21 tourist objects consisting of some districtsthat located in Solok, this matter is caused by the limited time, a long distant location and cost a lot of money, (2) the way in generating the directory is collecting data, record data, focus on ideas, create a book framework, determine subject, classification or grouping and directory preparation, (3) the constraints in making location plan. The purpose of this research are: (1) to explain what kind of medicinal plants for Sakai Tribe in Riau Region, (2) to describe how to repackage information about medicinal plants for Sakai Tribe in Riau Region. Data wasÂ Â collectedÂ Â throughÂ Â observationÂ Â andÂ Â interviewÂ Â withÂ Â SakaiÂ Â Riau Customary Chief and Sakai Riau indigenous house guard officer. The writing of this paper used qualitative descriptive method. Data obtained through observation and direct interviews with the Chief of Customs and community Sakai District Riau. Based on the research concluded the things as follows.
