Abstract

Indonesia is working to improve its country's defense strength. Indonesian defense equipment is currently is not in a optimal condition to support Indonesia's defense. In addition to striving to improve its defense systems, Indonesia also strives to increase the independence of its defense industry to creat an independent country and reduce dependency with other countries. The sources of this research were obtained through literature reviews, books, websites, and others. The source of analysis is qualitative methods. This study uses the level of analysis of the nation state, neorealism perspective that illustrates that every country does not have to pursue strength but also must work together and the theory of International Cooperation as an answer for countries of the world international. To increase its defense strength, Indonesia is conducting defense cooperation with other countries, one of the countries that is Indonesia's defense cooperation partner, is the Czech Republic. This aims of thesis is to explain the existence of this collaboration is expected to improve Indonesia's defense capabilities and create an independent defense industry. Key Words: International Cooperation, Defense, Minimum Essential Force,  Indonesian Defense Industry.

Abstract

AbstactPenelitian ini akan menjelaskan kepentingan Indonesia dalam kerjasama lingkungan hidup dalam kerangka Reducting Emission From Deforestation and Degradation dengan Norwegia. Kerjasama yang tertuang dalam surat niat Indonesia terhadap Norwegia yang ditandatangani pada tahun 2010 merupakan salah satu wujud nyata kedua negara dalam menyelamatkan dunia dari kerusakan lingkungan hidup. Isu lingkungan hidup saat ini bukan-lah permasalahan yang dianggap mudah dan sangat mendapatkan perhatian dari dunia in-ternasional karena isu ini berhubungan langsung dengan kehidupan manusia di dunia. Keti-ka permasalahan lingkungan hidup tidak ditanggapi dengan lebih serius, maka miliaran manusia akan kehilangan tempat tinggalnya akibat dari salah satu permasalahan lingkungan hidup yaitu emisi gas karbondioksida yang dihasilkan banyak negara-negara khususnya negara industri.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan dimana data-data yang didapat dalam penelitian ini berasal dari buku dan website yang relevan dengan permasala-han penelitian yang diteliti. Penelitian ini akan dikaji menggunakan perspektif liberalisme yang akan mengkaji mengenai kerjasama antara negara Indonesia dan Norwegia dan akan dibantu dengan teori pilihan rasional dan kepentingan nasional untuk menganalisa kepent-ingan Indonesia dalam kerjasama dengan Norwegia.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Norwegia dipilih oleh Indonesia se-bagai rekan kerjasama Indonesia dalam menjaga hutan Indonesia karena Norwegia merupa-kan negara kaya yang memiliki komitmen kuat untuk melindungi lingkungan hidup yang dibuktikan dengan kebijakan Norwegia yang memberikan dana hibah kepada negara-negara yang memiliki hutan tropis seperti Indonesia.Kata kunci: REDD+, Deforestasi, Degradasi, Hutan

Abstract

This research analyze about steps of diplomacy by South Korea to urge Japan sign the Irreversible agreement called Agreement on comfort Woman on December 28,2015. The agreement consisting of statement deepest apology of Japan‟s goverment about their contribution to abduct almost 200 thousand women from some country specially from South Korea.Since world war I Japan‟s goverment abduct more than 200 thousand women from South Korea, Indonesia, and phillippines to be their sex slavery in order to comply their army‟s sex necessary and lack of abduct their citizen be their sex slavery. South Korea after world war II start to appear this issue and take the steps of diplomacy to urge Japan to have responsible about the issue .Japan refuse to take the responsible about what their goverment did in the past with some reason that abduct of more than 200 thousand women has done of person who want to take the profit from the war by abduct women and force them to be a sex slavery.But, after diplomacy by South Korea, Japan finally sign the irreversible agreement and take their responsible about this issue and the steps of diplomacy by South korea‟s Goverment will be explain in this research.Keywords : Diplomacy, South Korea, Japan, Jugun ianfu,Comfort Women,Agreement on comfort Women

Abstract

This research discusses Iran’s response to the political thriller movie Argo and how the movie represents Iranians. Argo movie was launch in October 2012 focusing on an exfiltration mission in Iran by the CIA, which is based on true events in 1979 when the Islamic Revolution broke in Iran. Iranian in 2012 was shocked by Argo’s Iranian depiction that was deem by president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ‘anti Iranian’ and American propaganda. Iran further their accusation when Argo receive the prestigious Oscar award handed by first lady Michelle Obama at Febuary 24th 2013. This research will explain the Iran Hostage Crisis and Canadian Caper history in 1979, how Iran respond to the movie Argo in 2013, the scenes that was protested by the Iranian government, what kind negotiations are being done, and how the movie Argo influences Iran’s and United States international relations. Perspective that used in this research is Realism perspective. The theory used in this research is the mass media concept. The theory used as a framework for analyzing the factors and cause the movie Argo and its consequences for Iran’spolitical situation.Key words: Iran, respond, Argo movie, United States, international relation

Abstract

This research describes the development of relationship between Indonesia and Bulgaria through cultural diplomacy. Its main objectives are to provide greater knowledge and deep understanding of Indonesian national interest through cultural diplomacy to improve bilateral relations with the Government of Bulgaria. In order to improve this relationship, Indonesia uses World Championship of Folklore 2014 as a tool of diplomacy.The method that is used in this research is qualitative research. Some of the datas are obtained from books, journals, articles, internet and other media. This research focuses on the improvement of Indonesia-Bulgaria relationship by using World Championship of Folklore 2014 as a diplomacy tool. This research uses the Cultural Diplomacy theory and Multi-Track Diplomacy theory.Using World Championship of Folklore 2014 as a tool is an effective way of diplomacy by Indonesian government. World Championship of Folklore 2014 is a stepping stone to attract the attention of the world and Bulgaria in particular. Multi-track diplomacy that was done by Indonesia was successful. It is proved by many cooperation and improvement between Indonesia and Bulgaria and not only in cultural field and not only on cultural field but also cooperation on other fields.Keywords: Indonesia, Bulgaria, World Championship of Folklore, cultural diplomacy.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the indonesian government in dealing with thephenomenon of lesbian women in Hongkong workforce (2007-2009). This research is a greatstudy in International Relations which seeks to look at the role of government and the relationto the dynamics of migrant workers (TKI), particularly the behavior of TKW in Hongkong.Hongkong is a country that receives a lot of opportunities maids from Indonesia. With themultitude of TKW in Hongkong appear various problems either violence or harassment.There is one problem that arises within the maids in Hongkong which is a new phenomenonthat emerged quickly jumped in number from year to year which TKW relationship withfellow maids called "Lesbian".This phenomenon is motivated by the problems previously experienced in the past in,environmental and cultural factors as well as social interaction is done in Hongkong. Toreview these cases, the researcher uses role theory to support this research. In the theory ofroles according to John Wahlke there are two skills that are useful to the political analysis ofpolitical actors, namely political actors and government TKW.This study was ended on the role of government is to build an organization of Indonesianmigrant workers to be used as a grievance and problems faced by migrant workers inHongkong. Some of the Organization are: the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (IMWU),Hongkong Indonesia Labor Coalition (KOTKIHO). Abstract

This paper discusses the differences before the abolition of trade barriers as a whole and after the holding of the elimination of tariff barriers as a whole since the merger of Mexico into NAFTA. This study is compiled from some resourse and references including book, newspaper, magazines and some site in internet. It is qualitative method by using the theory of international organization of Michael Hass. With the issuance of Chapter 7 of the regulation of agricultural trade regulation and enforcement of the FTA in total, helping boost agricultural exports products throughout the NAFTA member countries, especially Mexico. This research regulations issued by the NAFTA on agriculture have a positive impact on agriculture in Mexico on the mark with the growing number of Mexican farm exports in the current holding of tariff elimination.Key words : Regional Organizations, International Political Economy, NAFTA, Mexico.

Abstract

This research explains China's policy of providing foreign aid to Venezuela in the economic crisis due to the large foreign debt and falling world oil prices. The strengthening US dollar has been the main cause of the decline in world oil prices over the past few years. In fact, the US dollar was at its highest level in 12 years against the euro, which led to a rise in the US dollar index and falling oil prices. And Venezuela is a country very unprepared for it. As we know that Venezuela depends on their oil sales.The theory used in this research is Neo-liberal is one of the perspectives in International Relations, Neo-liberalism has a pattern of the main driving factor for international cooperation is the international power distribution. And neoliberalism describes the concepts of rationality and prefer to cooperate with institutions and also international organizations to realize their interests. Abstract

The release of greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels and other sources is causing temperatures in the Arctic to warm at twice the rate worldwide, resulting in lower sea ice, melting ice sheets and rising sea levels worldwide.The Arctic region has been the main focus of many climate change studies in recent years, both because of the many changes seen in the Arctic. Changes in temperature are the main cause of many changes that occur in the Arctic. WWF worked to ensure that development in the Arctic region did not destroy habitat and established the WWF Arctic Program focusing on the Arctic region. The purpose of writing is to provide general information about the Arctic as an area experiencing ice melt and provide an explanation of the role of the WWF Arctic Program in tackling ice melt in the Arctic.This paper uses the theory of the International Organization in which the actor involved is WWF, where the WWF Arctic Program collaborates with several countries to achieve the overall goal of stopping and repairing environmental damage that occurs in the North Pole. This study also uses descriptive qualitative research methods with secondary sources and data based on books, journals, and online literature such as reports, newspapers, and official articles from WWF.The results of the study indicate that the programs created by the WWF Arctic Program are long-term programs, so that currently no significant results have been seen from these programs. WWF develops standards and planning tools to ensure that the industry's footprint in the Arctic does not burden an already weakened ecosystem while recognizing that northern communities need the economy. WWF is also working to create a rules-based environment, where international rules on how Arctic resources should be managed are agreed upon and enforced. WWF also has a dedicated workflow to reduce the main threat to biodiversity in the Arctic, namely climate change. KeyWords: Arctic, WWF, WWF Arctic Programme, Renewable Energy

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of International Labour Organization (ILO) in dealing with industrial workplace accidents in Bangladesh by focusing on Rana Plaza tragedy in 2013. ILO plays an active role to promote decent work for every man and woman all over the world. Workplace accident is one of many problems usually found in garment industry in Bangladesh. Unsafe structural integrity and fire safety are the factors that cause workplace accidents.This research uses Pluralism Perspective and Role Concept. It also uses Organization theory and International Cooperation theory. These theories assume any cooperative arrangement instituted among states, usually by a basic agreement, to perform some mutually advantageous functions implemented trough periodic meetings and staff activities.In handling the workplace accidents in garment industry in Bangladesh, ILO cooperated with tripartite partners through joint statement and formulated an Action Plan as response to Rana Plaza tragedy. The joint statement was followed up by European Union and stake holders as a kind of responsibility to improve the working condition in garment industry in Bangladesh. ILO helped tripartite partners in implementing the Action Plan as solution to improve working conditions in garment industry after Rana Plaza tragedy with support from European Union and stakeholders. The cooperation between ILO (International Labour Organization), tripartite partner and stake holders has shown some improvements in working condition after Rana Plaza tragedy.Keywords : Action Plan, workplace accident, ILO, tripartite partner, cooperation
