Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the reasons for Malaysia's refusal to ratify ICERD. Malaysia's refusal to ratify International Conventions on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination is a problem currently being faced by the Malaysian government. In fact, ratification of ICERD is considered as a step forward for a country to end racial discrimination. The research methodology used is descriptive method with a ualitative approach and is carried out by means of literature study. The source of data used in writing this thesis is secondary data on all forms of publication regarding ICERD and discrimination in Malaysia, be it books, articles, journals, authoritative websites and local Malaysian newspapers. The results of the research show that, the reason for the rejection of ICERD ratification is because the international convention is considered to be contrary to the federal Constitution in article 153 and threatens the privileges of the indigenous people of Malaysia and contradicts the social contracts made by the rulers since the journey towards Malaysian independence. Abstract

This study illustrates the role of ECPAT Indonesia in overcoming child sex tourism in Indonesia. Child Sex Tourism is a fundamental violation of children's human rights in the form of sexual violence committed by adults. There are several causes and impacts caused by Child Sex Tourism in Indonesia. In response to this, the role of international organizations, such as ECPAT, is needed. Some of ECPAT Indonesia's efforts in order to overcome this phenomenon are carried out together with fellow network members, the community, and the government through advocacy, prevention, protection, and cooperation activities. The method used in the researcher is descriptive analytical with a qualitative approach. Also, using the concepts of Prostitution, Sex Toursim, and Child Sex Tourism in explaining sexual activities in the tourism industry. This research also uses Clive Archer's International Organization concept, which is as an independent arena, instrument, and actor. The role of ECPAT Indonesia in overcoming child sex tourism in Indonesia is divided into three categories. First, as an arena, ECPAT Indonesia plays a role as a place for discussion in solving problems and as a bridge of communication between tourism stakeholders. Second, as an instrument, in this case ECPAT Indonesia plays a role as a tool used by the government in carrying out international cooperation. Third, as an independent actor, ECPAT Indonesia is able to become a pioneer in child protection policies from sexual exploitation, especially in tourist areas. Abstract

This study describes Indonesia's strategy in increasing shallot exports to Thailand. Shallots are exported to several countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Taiwan. And Indonesia's main and largest export destination for shallots is Thailand. Various obstacles were experienced by Indonesia to export shallots to Thailand, where the shallot products exported by Indonesia were also produced by Thailand.The author collects data from books, academic journals, mass media, and sources from the Internet related to the issue of this research which discusses Indonesia's strategy in increasing shallot exports to Thailand. The author uses the perspective of liberalism and country-level analysis. The theory used in this research is the theory of competitive advantage theory from Michael E. Porter.This study found that Indonesia in increasing exports of shallots to Thailand by increasing the cooperation of Indonesia's trade attache in Thailand with the Thai government in improving the quality standards of shallots required by Thailand, conducting promotions through international trade fairs in Thailand to highlight the advantages of shallot products from Indonesia, and conducting negotiations between the Indonesian government and the Thai government through the Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) on the implementation of Thailand's shallot import policy.Keywords: Strategy, Shallots, Exports, Joint Agriculture Working Group.

Abstract

This research was written with the aim of describing what efforts were made by Mexico and the United States in tackling drug trafficking by Mexican cartels or commonly known as DTOs. The existence of Mexico's DTO in the United States has disrupted the security of the two countries to the point where it affects many sectors. What was done by the DTO is categorized as a transnational crime. In responding to these conditions, Mexico and the United States need to take repressive measures to control drug trafficking that occurs. The method used in this study is a qualitative method that is explanatory and uses the theory of Securitization by Barry Buzan. Security is the most important factor for the sovereignty of a country. This is a problem for Mexico and the United States over their concern for the Mexican DTO which carries out its activities in the border area between the two countries. The efforts made by Mexico and the United States took the form of an international treaty policy known as the Merida Initiative. The Merida Initiative collaboration is driven by domestic and international factors related to the impacts caused by drug trafficking in the territories of the two countries. Abstract

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is an environmental organization whose mission is to protect defenseless marine wildlife and end the destruction of habitats in the world's oceans. SSCS, which carries out many operations to save marine habitats, especially mammals, saw how Japan's actions in conducting whale hunting for the purpose of this research were actions that were dangerous to marine ecosystems and endangered whales as living things whose existence is protected. The purpose of this research is to explain the SSCS strategy in overcoming Japanese whaling. This study used the Constructivist theory by Alexander Wendt who believe that social structure is determined more by shared ideas rather than material drives and actors' identities and interests. This study used a qualitative research method by collecting data through a Documentation Study, namely collecting data by viewing and analyzing documents made by the subject himself or by other people on the subject in the form of journals, books and other documentation in the form of videos from the subject himself or social media. SSCS succeeded in stopping whaling by the Japanese for research purposes through their direct action in JARPA II research. By leveraging the media, SSCS also succeeded in attracting attention from the world community regarding Japanese whaling activities through their television series which managed to survive until its sixth season. Abstract

This research describes and analyzes about the impact of third wave coffee culture towards the coffee connoisseur in Pekanbaru. Third wave coffee culture is a phenomenon that makes the coffee getting the plus value. This research uses the globalization concept by using four indicators namely describing about the impact of third wave coffee culture in Pekanbaru as one of province in Indonesian that has potential because of coffee producing in Indonesian. The method that is used in this research is descriptive by data collecting through the library case. In this research, the researcher uses the constructivism theory and globalization concept. The writer uses the theory and the concept in order to ease the research in analyzing how the impact of third wave coffee culture towards the coffee connoisseur in Pekanbaru. The result of this research shows that the coffee shop of third wave often pays attention to the quality of coffee seed, manual brewing technique, and also the amount of ceoffee served. That attention is reached by the knowledge bargaining between the barista and the consument. But, for getting the impression as coffee shop customer, the coffee shop customer doesn’t need to be active to communicate with the barista. But, they just come in the shop of third wave. Therefore, the customer will get the impression and the meaning that they are the customer coffee of third wave that care enough. Abstract

ABSTRACT The issue of deforestation has become a major concern since a decade ago. This is one of the reasons why Terrestrial Ecosystems are a focus of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals program. Based on the increasing recognition by business actors of multinational companies operating in the natural resources sector, it is necessary to manage operational risk and their reputation on environmental issues such as water scarcity, pollution, climate change and loss of biodiversity. PT. RAPP as a multinational company also participates in implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. In this study, researchers used a constructivism perspective, with the theory of corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a basic reference for research. Data were obtained from journals, official websites, books, and interviews and observations at one of the multinational companies in Indonesia, namely PT RAPP. The results of the study show that PT RAPP as a multinational company engaged in the pulp and paper industry implements a thriving landscape. PT RAPP in the East Teso sector carries out efforts to protect and preserve its forests with the target of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals on Terrestrial Ecosystems through zero net loss conservation, biodiversity and wildlife protection activities, in which this CSR intends to obtain standardization from the International Standardization Organization, namely ISO 14001. Abstract

The conflict that occurred in Lebanon in 2006 caused civilian and military casualties as well as the destruction of civilian infrastructure and massive displacement due to Israeli attacks on countries in the Middle East. The United Nations formed a peacekeeping operation, namely the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) with the aim of maintaining peace in Lebanon. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection methods in the form of documentary studies. Documentary studies are conducted by collecting and analyzing written documents or pictures from interviews. This study uses the Neorealist Perspective and the theory of Naval Diplomacy. This theory explains naval diplomacy in Maritime Task Force missions.. Indonesia has a global vision as stated in the fourth paragraph of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, namely "to participate in carrying out world order based on freedom, eternal peace and social justice". This made Indonesia's initiative to send peacekeeping troops to Lebanon in the current situation. Indonesia's contribution in sending peacekeepers to Lebanon since 2006 and began sending the Navy on Maritime Task Force (MTF) missions in 2009. This mission aims to support the Lebanese Navy in monitoring Lebanese territorial waters, illegal activities such as weapons smuggling and trade in goods Prohibited goods pass through the Lebanese sea. There are 5 countries that have contributed to the MTF mission, namely Indonesia, Germany, Turkey, Greece and Bangladesh. This mission also carried out joint exercises between the Lebanese Navy so that the Lebanese army could defend its country's territory independently. Abstract

This study aims to analyze Indonesia's interests in carrying out defense cooperation with Japan on the 2+2 nomenclature. This defense cooperation involves two ministries from each country; the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Furthermore, the collaboration began in 2015 and will continue in 2021. To maintain the analytical framework, this study uses a qualitative methodology supported by interviews with structural experts and related officials, document analysis, literature studies, and policy observations. The aspect of International Relations in this research lies in the use of Neorealism and Defense Diplomacy perspectives as a theoretical framework. The correlation between the two leads to the results of academic observations in this study. This research found rational reasons for why the collaboration occurred, the reasons for its urgency, and its relevance. Broadly speaking, this study found the driving factors for cooperation between Indonesia and Japan in 2+2 due to the similarity of challenges and threats between Japan in East Asia and Indonesia in Southeast Asia. In addition, inter- and intra-regional complexity is one of the cornerstones of the analysis. Abstract

ABSTRACT North Rupat is one of the mainstay coastal marine tourism objects of Bengkalis Regency tourism and is one of the national tourism strategic areas, this study aims to determine cultural diplomacy efforts and implementation of tourism development carried out by the Riau Provincial Tourism Office in Promoting North Rupat Tourism Objects, Bengkalis Regency to become an international tourism destination. This research uses qualitative methods, with data collection techniques through primary data collection sourced from field research and through secondary data collection through literature studies sourced from several books, journals, articles, websites and using the concept of Tourism Development and Diplomacy Theory in Cultural Diplomacy. The result of this paper is that the Riau Provincial Tourism Office has a strategy for the process of promoting international tourism destinations, namely Paid Media (P), Owned Media (O), Social Media (S), Endorser (E) Endorser or KOL, and pre-event, on-event, and post-event. The use of Cultural Diplomacy theory in an effort to internationalize North Rupat tourism objects into international tourism destinations by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports accompanied by the Association of The Indonesian Tours And Travel Agencies (ASITA) Riau. As well as using benchmarks on the main elements of tourism development as a medium to analyze who North Rupat tourism objects become international tourism.
