Abstract

The use of radar technology, especially for the interests of state defense and security, has become the focus of development launched by the government of Indonesia. Equipment and vehicles in the defense and security sector are the top priority to be detected using radar technology. When a radar transmitter transmits its signal towards a target, some part of the signal will bounce in all directions or scattering, including to the receiver and some will be absorbed by the radar target. The radar target is assumed to have a small size, with the aim of focusing more on the beamwidth of the radar transmitting antenna to the target. This research has a focus on measuring radar targets in the form of defense equipment in the form of tanks made in miniature which are smaller than their original forms. The selected antenna polarization uses linear polarization with vertical and horizontal types. Each polarization will be compared with the value of the radar cross section (RCS) in the combination of the same polarization and different polarization. The measurement results show that the largest RCS value is obtained at an angle of 200° by 13 with a combination of Horizontal-Horizontal polarization and the smallest RCS value is obtained at an angle of 50° by -4 with a combination of Horizontal-Vertical polarization. With the results of these measurements, it can be concluded that the measurement of RCS for defense and security equipment can be carried out by measuring the miniature of the defense and security equipment

Abstract

This Community Service aims to add value to the Tofu produced by Mr. Tomo's family from Pomo Hamlet, Ampel Village, Wuluhan District, Jember Regency. This home industry did not yet recognize the importance of product innovation, how to innovate on products, and the implementation of marketing through product packaging in a more attractive manner. In addition, operations and business records had not been carried out in an accountable manner, so that the maximum production capacity had not been achieved. Cost of Goods Sold was calculated simply and potentially inaccurate because it was not properly recorded. Activities were carried out through product innovation counseling; assistance in making packaging designs, both from the type of container and logo; as well as assistance on how to make Tofu Kress as a result of innovation. The next activity was carried out through Business Analysis, both from the production and financial aspects, to be able to find out the allocation of capital and profits generated after the innovation of “Tahu Kress”. As a result, Mr. Tomo's family significantly understands the importance of product innovation, was able to implement value added to Tofu products by making Tofu Kress, placing it in containers with up-to-date designs, and conducting business analysis on production and financial aspects to develop the production of Tofu in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTransmisi audio pada kanal indoor dipengaruhi oleh efek multipath fading yang dapat mengganggu kualitas sinyal. Multicarrier OFDM digunakan sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi fenomena ini. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang karakteristik kanal indoor dan transmisi audio dengan multicarrier OFDM berbasis SDR. Simulasi menggunakan NI-USRP2920, RTL2832U, GNU Radio dan Matlab pada kondisi NLOS dan LOS. Analisa kanal berdasarkan parameter CCDF menunjukkan daya sinyal maksimum pada kondisi NLOS (0,535 dB) lebih rendah dibandingkan LOS (1,214 dB), menandakan multipath fading yang lebih signifikan. Transmisi audio dengan modulasi BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM pada kondisi NLOS menunjukkan nilai BER secara berurutan 0.26880, 0.37976, 0.49522. Sementara untuk kondisi LOS, secara berurutan 0, 0, 0.00020. Hasil ini menunjukkan modulasi yang lebih sederhana pada multicarrier OFDM meningkatkan ketahanan terhadap multipath fading.Kata kunci: Audio, Kanal Indoor, Multicarrier OFDM, Multipath Fading, SDRABSTRACTAudio transmission on indoor channels is affected by the effect of multipath fading which can interfere with signal quality. Multicarrier OFDM is used as a solution to overcome this phenomenon. This study examines the characteristics of indoor channels and audio transmission with SDR-based OFDM multicarrier. The simulation uses NI-USRP2920, RTL2832U, GNU Radio and Matlab under NLOS and LOS conditions. Channel analysis based on CCDF parameters showed that the maximum signal power under NLOS conditions (0.535 dB) was lower than that of LOS (1.214 dB), indicating a more significant multipath fading. Audio transmission with BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM modulation under NLOS conditions showed BER values of 0.26880, 0.37976, 0.49522 respectively. Meanwhile, for LOS conditions, 0, 0, 0.00020 respectively. These results show that simpler modulation of OFDM multicarriers improves resistance to multipath fading.Keywords: Audio, Indoor Channel, Multicarrier OFDM, Multipath Fading, SDR

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was conducted to evaluate the profile of 17ß-estradiol (E2) and vitellogenin (Vtg) in plasma and egg diameter during gonad maturity process of striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. Blood samples were collected from immature striped catfish, male and female with different stage of gonad maturity (stage I, II, III, and IV) to measure the concentrations of E2 and Vtg. Gonad maturity development of striped catfish was observed based on egg diameter. Result showed that E2 concentrations were the highest (843.65 pg/mL) on female with maturity stage III, the lowest on the male (26.34 pg/mL), and immature female fish (29.37 pg/mL). The protein band of Vtg was obtained on the plasma of the mature female (stage I, II, III and IV) with a molecular weight (MW) between 140−180 kDa, but it was not obtained on immature female dan male striped catfish. The highest concentration of Vtg was found in the plasma of the female fish with maturity stage III (87.34 mg/mL), then on the stage II (74.83 mg/mL), I (68.58 mg/mL), and IV (33.45 mg/mL). It showed that egg yolk formation occurred in the female mature. The average egg diameter was 0.107 ± 0.052 mm, 0.318 ± 0.086 mm, 0.864 ± 0.099 mm, and 1.041 ± 0.058 mm on the maturity stage I, II, III, and IV respectively. The increase of egg diameter along with development of gonad maturity stage indicated that egg development occurred due to the process of vitellogenesis and the addition of egg yolk on oocyte. Keywords : egg diameter, gonad maturity, striped catfish , 17ß–estradiol, vitellogenin ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi profil estradiol-17β (E2), vitelogenin (Vtg) dalam plasma dan diameter telur pada proses pematangan gonad ikan patin siam (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). Sampel darah untuk pengukuran konsentrasi E2 dan Vtg plasma diperoleh dari ikan patin siam betina yang belum matang gonad, ikan jantan, ikan betina dengan tahap kematangan gonad yang berbeda (tahap I, II, III dan IV). Perkembangan kematangan gonad ikan patin siam diamati berdasarkan diameter telur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi E2 tertinggi (843,65 pg/mL) pada ikan betina dengan kematangan tahap III, terendah pada ikan jantan (26,34 pg/mL), dan ikan betina tidak matang gonad (29,37 pg/mL). Pita protein Vtg pada sampel plasma diperoleh dari betina matang gonad (tahap I, II, III dan IV) dengan berat molekul antara 140-180 kDa, tetapi tidak diperoleh pada ikan patin siam betina yang belum dewasa dan jantan. Nilai konsentrasi tertinggi Vtg ditemukan dalam plasma darah ikan betina dengan tingkat kematangan III (87,34 mg/mL) kemudian pada tahap II (74,83 mg/mL), I (68,58 mg/mL) dan IV (33,45 mg/mL). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pada ikan betina dewasa terjadi proses pembentukan kuning telur (vitelogenesis). Rata-rata diameter telur adalah 0,107 ± 0,052 mm, 0,318 ± 0,086 mm, 0,864 ± 0,099 mm dan 1,041 ± 0,058 mm pada tingkat kematangan I, II, III dan IV secara berurutan. Peningkatan nilai diameter telur seiring dengan perkembangan tahap kematangan gonad menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan telur terjadi karena proses vitelogenesis dan penambahan bahan kuning telur pada oosit. Kata kunci : diameter telur, 17ß-estradiol, kematangan gonad, patin siam, vitelogenin

Abstract

This research explores the implementation of a cutting-edge Software Defined Radio (SDR) framework to transmit multimedia files that can be assumed to be medical data in smart ambulances. The system utilizes multi-carrier Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) across V2V and V2I channels. The research is based on the notion that adaptive real-time communication is essential for the uninterrupted supply of key patient data to medical facilities and vehicles in transit, in order to address the problems posed by high mobility and dynamic environmental conditions. A comprehensive SDR system has been constructed and assessed in comparison to conventional communication mechanisms, demonstrating notable advancements in data accuracy and uninterrupted transmission. Our system successfully established stable connections in V2I channels, even in the presence of environmental obstacles. It maintained average power levels of approximately 32.074 dBm and a Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of 1.037 dB. These results indicate a constant signal envelope that promotes optimal signal transmission with excellent fidelity. In V2V scenarios, we successfully maintained data integrity with a low Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of 3.316 dB, even while vehicles were moving at a speed of 20 km/h. Additionally, we secured a high likelihood (94.5%) that the signal power remained close to the average, showing the robustness of our system against Doppler effects and signal dispersion. Text transmissions experienced errors when subjected to a Doppler shift of 20 km/h, which impacted the decoding of the received text. Similarly, image transmissions revealed limitations in bandwidth, as a transmitted image of 3640 KB was received with a degraded 4 KB. This emphasizes the importance of implementing effective error handling and recovery mechanisms. The results illustrate the efficacy of the suggested system in maintaining a high Quality of Service (QoS), offering proof of the effectiveness of contemporary wireless communication technologies in improving emergency medical services and setting new standards in smart ambulance capabilities.

Abstract

As air traffic becomes more complicated, more effective monitoring systems are required to assure aviation safety and security. Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) technology has become the international standard for real-time airplane tracking, however typical ADS-B receivers used in airports are expensive and frequently unavailable. This study seeks to assess the dependability and efficiency of Software Defined Radio (RTL-SDR) as a low-cost option for receiving ADS-B signals. The study focuses on the development of a 1090 MHz PCB antenna coupled to an RTL-SDR device, with data processed using RTL1090 software and visualized using Virtual Radar Server. Testing took place at two airports: Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) and Wirasaba Airport. The results show that the system can identify aircraft within a range of up to 400 km at YIA and 250 km at Wirasaba, with the received data providing precise information on aircraft position, altitude, and speed. The system spotted four airplanes in Wirasaba and nine at YIA, indicating that the latter location has broader coverage. These findings show that RTL-SDR is a dependable and cost-effective option for ADS-B signal reception, with the potential to replace more expensive conventional receivers used in airports.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the sensory quality, consumer acceptability, and business feasibility of a novel fukien product made from Banjar mackerel and partially substituted with Belitung taro flour (Xanthosoma sagittifolium), named "Fukimpul." Sensory quality tests were conducted using organoleptic and hedonic assessments on three substitution levels (20%, 30%, and 40%) for parameters such as internal color, mackerel taste, taro taste, umami flavor, fresh mackerel aroma, taro aroma, and texture. The 20% substitution level yielded the highest overall scores in sensory evaluation and consumer preference tests involving 100 panelists. Based on these findings, a start-up business model was developed using a pre-order production system and social media-based distribution. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied to analyze market potential, production design, organizational structure, and financial viability. The results demonstrate that Fukimpul has strong market competitiveness, favorable consumer responses (with a Customer Satisfaction Index of 97.1%), and a break-even point projected at 10.7 months. The study concludes that a 20% substitution of Belitung taro flour provides the best sensory and acceptability outcomes and recommends Fukimpul as a practical, nutritious, and scalable ready-to-cook product for sustainable local entrepreneurship.

Graphical Abstract   Highlight Research The crossbred performance of the four tilapia strains showed diverse heterosis values, with some being better, worse, or the same as their parents. Crossbred of black tilapia produced the best growth and fecundity performance. A hybrid of Mozambique tilapia and black tilapia showed the highest mid-parent heterosis value on growth traits but produced negative heterosis on fecundity, biomass, and survival traits. Crossbred of black tilapia and Mozambique tilapia have the potential to be used as candidates for cultivation and performance improvement through selection, although there are depressions and crossover advantages that are not prominent.     Abstract Increased tilapia production is challenged by genetic decline. Hybridization efforts for performance improvement through a selection of the best parent and strain pairs were a promising option. The objective of this study was to evaluate the crossing of black tilapia, red tilapia, and Mozambique tilapia against the performance of fecundity, growth, and survival and estimate the value of heterosis. The experimental design used a completely randomized design with 3 replications with the treatment of different populations of crosses. The rearing activities were carried out in earthen ponds for 150 days with a stocking density of 10 fish/m2. The parameters observed included egg fecundity, growth, survival, and the value of heterosis. The results showed that the fecundity and growth values of crossbred black tilapia were significantly higher than others (p<0.05). The highest survival rate was shown by crossing pure strains of red tilapia. The hybrid of Mozambique tilapia and black tilapia (♀ MJ x ♂ NW) showed the highest mid-parent heterosis value on growth characters but produced negative heterosis on characters, fecundity, biomass, and survival. Overall, the crossbred of black tilapia (♀BS x ♂ NW) performed better than the inbred strains, with positive mid-parent heterosis in all characters measured. These results indicate that crossbreeding has the potential to be used as a candidate for cultivation and performance improvement through selection, although there were depressions, and the superiority of the crosses was not prominent.

Abstract

The high productivity and quality of the harvested prawn are the main objectives of the intensive giant freshwater prawn (GFP) culture. Therefore, the breeding program to create a superior strain of the prawn has been conducted in several countries to support prawn farming. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the productivity and female reproductive performance of the GFP superior strains, namely the selected GI Macro (GI) and Siratu (SR) in the three farming conditions. The GI has resulted from an individual selection program based on standard length and maturation level characters. The multi-location test was conducted in the grow-out phase for 90 days at the three locations based on altitude, namely low-lands (in Subang, 10-25 m above the sea level, asl), medium-lands (in Ciamis, 70-100 m asl), high-lands (in Kuningan, 700-800 m asl). The growth characters consisting of total length/TL, standard length/SL, and body weight/BB of GI and SR were not significantly different, both on the Low, medium, and high lands ponds.  The survival rate of the GI (87,3±7.26%) was significantly higher than the SR (71.0±0.08%) in the medium-land pond.  In the high-lands pond, the survival rate of the SR (72.33±0.32%) was significantly higher than the GI (55.8±6.27%). Meanwhile, the productivity and percentage of the gravid female in the low-lands pond were not significantly different. The data suggested that the selected GI Macro is a location-specific genotype, more suitable to be cultured in the low and moderate-lands pond with warm temperature characteristics. Keywords: freshwater prawn, growth, multi-location, reproduction
