Abstract

Through the International Class Program (ICP), SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Inovasi Malang facilitates active English learning. Active English learning necessitates consistent actualization practice activities. Schools are expected to maximize the use of online media for educational purposes. This research explores technology-based ICP activities and the media used to optimize ICP program collaboration. This study employs a qualitative research method based on case studies; the data are presented descriptively. The investigation was conducted over the course of six months, from June to November of 2022. Several key informants, including principals, program coordinators, and program participants/students, were interviewed to collect data; they were assigned as research subjects. Additionally, researchers performed field observations and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The findings indicated that SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Inovasi Malang could take advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic by optimizing online media, such as virtual meetings in the ICP class. Instagram, YouTube, and video production are other media. Another finding is that space, time, and financial constraints can be effectively managed. Differentiated learning requires intensive assistance from Kampung Inggris supplemented by International Student Discussions and project-based learning. Nevertheless, this program must still surmount two obstacles: the low level of student self-confidence and the diversity of student abilities.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims at providing an empirical evidence of the effectiveness of the Internal Audit (IA) as a mediating variable in the association of IA independence and Good University Governance (GUG). Methodology/approach: A quantitative research using survey methods was carried out by applying Wrap PLS software for the data processing. The primary data were in the form of questionnaires, which were distributed to IA unit members from 58 state Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia. There are 107 questionnaires that are accepted and processed. Findings: The results show that independence does not influence GUG directly. However, the effectiveness of IA proved the capability of mediating the relationship between IA independence and GUG. Internal auditors in higher education institutions are still unable to fully maintain their independence. It happened because, apart from being an auditor, lecturers act as auditees in their capacity as educators. Practical implications: For policymakers, the results of this research can be used as an input or a basis for establishing new regulations, especially regarding IA in Higher Education. For State Islamic Higher Education, this study provides recommendations for the need to increase the independence and effectiveness of the IA because it can support the achievement of GUG. Originality/value: This study uses IA objects in state Islamic universities throughout Indonesia. This research model is different from previous research by placing IA effectiveness in the relationship between IA independence and GUG.

Abstract

The Integrated Islamic School (Sekolah Islam Terpadu) is known for its rapid development trend in the last decade. The development of the integrated Islamic School runs with the growth of interest to a pure Islamic Education. Appearing as an Islamic institution integrating both religious and secular knowledge, the Integrated Islamic School is able to master the market among the Muslim population. This article aims to scrutinize the characteristics and strategies of the school to expand amid the competitive Indonesian education market through human resource supervision. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the characteristics and strategies of the integrated Islamic School-based human resource supervision encompass political stability, strong Islamic symbols, Islamic personal development programs, inclusive scholarships, and incorporating Islamic populism. These characteristics and strategies attribute the integrated Islamic school as modern, advanced yet religious. In addition, the schools are exclusive in recruiting teachers, pragmatic in using Islamic symbols, and idealistic in the curriculum. Interestingly, this research evokes the integrated Islamic school’s two faces. Internally, it affiliates with an exclusive organization and ideology (Muslim Brotherhood), but simultaneously the school publicly shows inclusive nuances to the society.

Abstract

The high contribution of education graduates to the number of unemployed is suspected to be due to the lack of mastery of special skills, especially in entrepreneurship. While the development of entrepreneurship skills so far has only focused on vocational education such as vocational schools. Islamic boarding schools have substantial social capital in creating social change through entrepreneurship education from a historical perspective. This factor became the basis for the Al Amin Sumberpucung People's Islamic Boarding School to develop an integrative entrepreneurship education based on local wisdom through the Jagong Maton method. This study aims to determine the concept, implementation, and results of the development of entrepreneurship education through Jagong Maton at Pesantren Rakyat Al Amin Sumberpucung. This research is a field study that uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The study results stated that: 1) The Jagong Maton method produced two bases of local wisdom entrepreneurs, namely the type of entrepreneur with local wisdom and the type of general entrepreneur, which was developed based on the local community's need. 2) Implementation of entrepreneurship education with a humanist-socio-cultural approach, meaning according to the interests of students' talents and the socio-cultural conditions of the surrounding community. Types of business include agriculture, animal husbandry, herbal medicine production, orchid cultivation, refilling mineral water, Javanese musical instruments, and puppets. 3) Entrepreneurial education results include the ability to meet personal needs, the formation of an integrative entrepreneurial spirit, and the formation of entrepreneurial abilities in students.

Abstract

Globalisation has a significant influence on the world of education. The emergence of technology supports the implementation of services in providing school financial accountability through a digital payment information system. Therefore, this research aims to review the effectiveness and efficiency of the application of SIPS-MUDA in providing payment information using a case study with a mixed-method approach. Data was collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and surveys. Meanwhile, the data were analysed using John Cresswell's model analysis technique. The results showed that the school payment information system effectively controlled misinformation and omission of human error factors related to the data. A survey of 46 parents also indicated that more than 80% agreed on the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of SIPS-MUDA. This was based on the validity of payment information, task completion, time behaviour, and customer satisfaction. In conclusion, the application of SIPS-MUDA can be categorised as very effective in providing school payment information services. Virtual accounts are a recommendation for manual input constraints, and schools can utilise bank CSR funds in cooperation.

Abstract

Professional and quality human resources (HR) services are highly dependent on the existence of a reputable organization. The only way to fulfill these requirements is through a reputable educational institution. It is hoped that competitive Human Resources (HR) will be created at national, regional and international levels through quality education. A good sign of a quality Islamic educational institution is its track record in both academic and extracurricular fields, as well as national and international accreditation status. In an effort to improve the level of Islamic education in Indonesia, this research examines the quality management system used by educational institutions. The principal, deputy principal, head of department, and resource persons were additional research informants at SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi. This research combines a descriptive approach with qualitative methods to describe field research findings. The use of qualitative descriptive methods makes it easier for researchers to explain research results by describing the steps taken by SMK Mutu in determining curriculum and strategies to improve student skills, especially in the Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering (TKRO) department as a Center of Excellence. Research findings show that improving the quality of student competency at Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi Vocational School is by implementing a collaborative curriculum with industry, namely by aligning the curriculum, project-based learning, bringing in teachers from industry and carrying out TEFA activities. In addition, educational institutions plan well and implement their plans as intended, which directly affects the quality and progress of these institutions.

Abstract

In the context of education, the Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) of educators has a significant impact on teaching quality, school climate, and student achievement. However, research on how supervision with a service leadership approach can improve educators' OCB in Indonesia is limited. The purpose of this study is to find an effective supervision model based on service leadership type to improve Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among teachers in Indonesia, especially at the junior high school level. This research used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The subjects involved in this study were relevant scientific publications, both in Indonesian and English, that focused on the context of educational institutions in Indonesia. The literature search was conducted through academic databases such as Google Scholar and Crossref on the Publish or Perish application. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were set to select studies that were most relevant to the research topic. Data from the selected studies were systematically analyzed to identify categories of supervision models that are effective in improving teachers' OCB in Indonesia. The results of this study show that there are several categories of supervision models based on service leadership types that are effective in improving teacher OCB in Indonesia, namely: (1) Supervision: Recognition and Reward as part of performance supervision, (2) Individual Development: Employee Development as the main focus in strengthening OCB, (3) Communication: Empathy and Engagement in effective communication between leaders and teachers, (4) Conflict Management: Service Leadership as mediation in handling conflict and facilitating harmonious resolution.
