Abstract

Heterogeneous solid base catalyst by modificated Eggshells through calcination, hydration, dehydration methods with iron powder through impregnation method to load calcium oxide with eggshells as precursor. The catalyst with the highest activity is obtained when the calcination temperature of 900°C and the calcination time of 3 hours under transesterification reaction conditions of a molar ratio of methanol/oil 6:1, catalyst dosage of 6% by weight, temperature of 70 °C for 2 hours with yield biodiesel results reached 86.20%.Keyword: biodiesel, calcination, calcium oxide, catalysts, iron powder.

Abstract

Initial damage to the structure occurs in the outer layers of the affected surface exposure to the peat environment and the static and dynamic movement of the structure. To prevent structural damage, the latest technological innovations are needed in the use of mortar constituent materials to increase the strength of the mortar. Polymer mortar is a composite material formed from a mixture of fine aggregates, cement, water and polymer binders or binders with a certain level. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the use of acrylic binders on the physical and mechanical properties of polymer mortars and the influence of peat water on the future of the mortar. The substitution of acrylic binders with water consists of 3 substitutions, namely 20%, 30% and 40% and 0% as controls. The results of the search for acrylic binders on the mortar mixture obtained a minimum physical property value at 30% acrylic use in the 28-day test, namely. The porosity value of the mortar is 9.80%, the waterabsorption value of the mortar is 4.67% and 4.72%, and the sorptivity value of the mortar is 0.70. From the value of physical properties obtained the degree of tightness of the polymer mortar well with the use of acrylic binders in the mixture. For the mechanical properties of polymer mortar, compressive strength testing is carried out with optimum compressive strength at the use of 30% acrylic. The value of the compressive strength of the mortar is 33 Mpa.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah hasil belajar mahasiswa yang mendapat perkuliahan program linear dengan pengembangan bahan ajar berbantuan lindo software. Permasalahan dalam program linier adalah permasalahan yang berhubungan dengan pencapaian fungsi sasaran atau masalah optimasi, yaitu yang bertujuan memecahkan masalah dengan cara terbaik, sesuai dengan prinsip ekonomi yang berorientasikan untuk senantiasa menekan (meminimalkan) pengeluaran untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal. Bahan ajar adalah segala bentuk yang digunakan untuk membantu guru/ instruktur dalam melaksanakan kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas. Bahan yang dimaksud bisa berupa bahan tertulis maupun bahan tidak tertulis. Bahan ajar merupakan informasi, alat dan teks yang diperlukan guru/instruktur untuk perencanaan dan penelaahan implementasi pembelajaran. Lindo (Linear Interaktive Discrete Optimizer) adalah software yang dapat digunakan untuk mencari penyelesaian dari masalah pemrograman linear. Dengan menggunakan software ini memungkinkan perhitungan masalah pemrograman linear dengan n variabel. Prinsip kerja utama Lindo adalah memasukkan data, menyelesaikan, serta menaksirkan kebenaran dan kelayakan data berdasarkan penyelesaiannya.Kata Kunci    : Bahan Ajar, Program Linear, Lindo Software  ABSTRACTThe aim of this rsearch is to analyse the result of students' achievement in the lesson of linear program with the developing of teaching material with the assistance of software lindo.The problem in linear prgram is the problem which is related to the reaching of the target function or the problem of optimation that is aimed to solve the problem by using the best way which is suitable with ecomical principle that is oriented to maximalize the incomes but minimize the outcomes. Teaching material is all things that is used to help teachers/ instructors in teaching and learning process in the classroom. It can be both written and unwritten materials. It is such an information, things n texts those are needed by teachers/ instr to do such a planning n analyzing toward teaching implementation.Lindo is a software that can be used to find out the solving of linear program problems. By using this software, it is possible to count the problem of linear problem with n variable. Abstract

Mortar is an important binding matrix in construction, playing a role in protecting structures from damage and cracking. Handling seepage and corrosion in structures is a major concern. Research shows that the addition of Acrylic Binder to mortar mixes improves weathering, chemical, abrasion resistance and adhesive strength. This study aims to assess the characteristics of mechanical and physical properties of mortar with the addition of acrylic binder in polymer mortar. The results of the study with the addition of acrylic binder through treatment in normal water and normal conditions with a variation of 3 substitutions namely 40%, 30%, 20% and 0% which is needed as a control, showed an increase in the highest compressive strength value in the addition of 30% acrylic binder with the strength obtained of 26 Mpa at the age of 28 days. The lowest water absorption was 4.35% at 28 days, with a porosity of 9.3% and surface absorption of 0.14. These results show that the addition of acrylic binder increases the water tightness of the mortar, demonstrating the potential application of this polymer mortar in improving structural performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and Maturity Level of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L) on Performance Achievement, with Cultural Transformation as an intervening variable at PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 North Medan. The study involved 130 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the validity, reliability, and relationships among the research variables. The results indicate that both OHSMS implementation and K3L Maturity Level have a positive and significant effect on Performance Achievement, both directly and indirectly through Cultural Transformation as a mediator. Furthermore, Cultural Transformation significantly mediates the relationship between OHSMS implementation and K3L Maturity Level on Performance Achievement, thus enhancing the effectiveness of the OHSMS and K3L systems in improving organizational performance. This study provides practical implications for the management of PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Medan Utara to continue improving OHSMS implementation, developing K3L Maturity Level, and strengthening Cultural Transformation as a strategy to enhance employee performance. The study also contributes theoretically by reinforcing empirical evidence of Cultural Transformation's mediating role in the context of occupational health and safety.

Abstract

Biodiesel producted by transesterifiation reaction which on energy source. Biodiesel was developed in Indonesia as an anticipatis of energy crisis problem suppported by goverment national energy policy. This research is aimed to make biodiesel from cotton seed oil, studying the effect of agitation speed to the amount of biodiesel produced and determined the best catalyst activated by acid or base, and determined the characteristics of biodiesel produced. The transesterification process was occured at a temperature of 60oC, on weight of oil 100 grams, reaction time 1,5 hours, mole ratio of oil to methanol 1 : 9, catalyst concentration 0,5% -weight of oil for varions of agitation rate 400, 500 and 600 rpm, and variations of catalyst acid 0,47, 0,62 and 0,78% and alkaline activated with a concentration of 0,33, 0,44 and 0,66%. From the result was obtained the highest biodiesel yield of 95,45% for alkaline activated 0,66% for agitation speed of 400 rpm. Characterization of physical properties of biodiesel obtained here density of 878 kg/m3, 3,03 mm2/s kinematic viscosity, acid number 0.34 mg KOH/g sample, and the flash point 195oC.Keywords: biodiesel, clay catalysts, activation of acids and bases, transesterification

Abstract

Processing of palm oil into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) will produce a large amount of liquid waste. To produce a ton of crude palm oil (CPO) produced 6 m3 of palm oil mill effluent. In this study, a process for removing organic compounds in wastewater using the advanced oxidation process by combining peroxymonosulfate (2KHS5.KHSO4.K2SO4) and a catalyst of LaMnO3 Perovskite. The combination will produce sulfate free radicals that capable degrading harmful organic compounds in effluent effectively. Nanocrystalline LaMnO3 was obtained by calcination at a temperature of 800 °C for 2 hours with an average crystal diameter of the highest peak of 17 μm in the shape of the Rhombohedral catalyst and the catalyst has qualified the catalyst with a nanoparticle structure. Several variations of oxidation process variables were performed to assess their effect on organic matter decline. Some fixed variables were oxidation reaction temperature 30 oC, reaction time 120 min, stirring speed 400 rpm, and concentration of peroxymonosulfate solution 2 g/L and catalyst concentration 0,4 g / L. Conclution of this research is efficiency of 63.54 % for decreasing COD and efficiency by 27,4% for TOC reduction. This proved that the LaMnO3 catalyst is capable of activating peroxymonosulfate.Keywords : AOP, LaMnO3 Perovskite, Oxidation, Peroxymonosulfate

Abstract

Petroleum reserves in Indonesia are increasingly depleted, requiring the use of alternative energy that is environmentally friendly and renewable like biodiesel. Biodiesel can be made by transesterification process of vegetable oils. Process of making biodiesel commonly use homogeneous catalyst which has the disadvantage the formation of by products such as complexity of the separation of catalyst. Therefore, in this study biodiesel was synthesized from calophyllum inophyllum oil by using geopolymer catalyst. Geopolymer catalyst is first synthesized by reacting sodium silicate, metakaolin, NaOH, and water. Several variations of the process variables were done to assess its influence on yield of biodiesel. The variables were used consist of a dependent variables and independent variables. The dependent variables were calophyllum inophyllum oil weight of 50 grams, 3%-wt of catalyst concentration, reaction time of 120 minutes, and stirring speed of 400 rpm, while the independent variables which variation molar ratio of oil:methanol 1:6 and 1:9 and variations of temperature 55 and 65 oC. Physical characterization were done including density 871 kg/m3, kinematic viscosity 4.38 mm2/s, acid number 0.41 mg-KOH/g biodiesel and flash point 140°C respectively accordance with the standards of Indonesian biodiesel (SNI 7182:2015).Keywords: biodiesel, catalyst, calophyllum inophyllum oil, geopolymer, yield

Abstract

Palm fly ash is waste in the palm oil industry. Palm fly ash has high content of silica. ZSM-5 is one of synthetic zeolite which used as catalyst. It can be synthesized from silica and alumina using hidrothermal method. Source of silica that can be used to ZSM-5 synthesis are sodium silicate, gelled silica and precipitated silica. the purpose of this research is to synthesis ZSM-5 using precipitated silica hydrothermally. The result was analyzed using FTIR. ZSM-5 can be synthesized using precipitated silica hydrothermally. Based on infrared spectrum,the product synthesis shows four characteristic of ZSM-5 characters.Key words : fly ash, silica, hydrothermal and ZSM-5
